Robbie said he suspected this was coming for a while now. Of course he's going to look for other employment. Wouldn't you?
Not if I really wanted to stay. I'd be doing everything in my power to play to my best ability, lead the team as captain, assist other players, and negotiate a way forward re my contract.
But then, that's me.
@goldcoast tiger said:@NT Tiger said:@Tiger Watto said:The club is getting carved up through the media and don't appear to have anything in response. This would suggest to me this was created by the other party, most likely Robbie's Manager.
I'd expect something more from the club, something swift & direct to the point either today or tomorrow. Marina Go is the most likely to step in now and get on the front foot and push back at Farah & his Team.
Time for a Leader to step up and take control of this club. Who will it be???
I agree 'Watto'. It looks to me like WT has been blindsided.
Since it's been reported that Farah and co have had 6 weeks or so sniffing around for work elsewhere they have obviously had time to come up with a media plan that makes Farah come up smelling like roses.
Looks like WT management were caught completely off guard and JT looked like a rabbit in a spotlight. The old 'whip out a media release then go to ground' trick doesn't work with a situation like this and WT should have been better prepared. I'm actually amazed they didn't have their own media plan prepared for this as a contingency. Very poor in this day and age.
For me, it is now Moss' turn. He's the manager and should be front and centre. They're probably bound legally by what they can say but they need to come out and say something.
They did have their own plan
It might pay to find and read Robbies managers comments as to the fact that he had been talking to Wests and hadn't told Robbie about it until a meeting with Tigers, after which WT put out a release without telling him or Robbie that they were going to.
Taylor's display at the release was disgusting .
WTs were not blindsided. It was instigated by them

Well done Bob, SMH quoted this team verbatim in today's paper. But they spelled Heighington wrongly!

When was Farah going to announce that he was meeting with Souths? Before Souths dropped the idea, was he worried that there would be no time for a farewell from the WT fans?
Farah didn't meet with Souths, according to his manager he hadn't been told anything about it at that stage then our board drpeleased the news without telling Farah or his manager .
And if you don't think that that squirming grub Taylor wasn't disrespectful at his no talkies presser then you don't know what respect is, this club is looking even more rudderless than ever , with Go hiding and not coming forward , starting to see the consequences of having a board with not an ounce of knowledge about running a club between them.

Get your facts right before ranting on about something you seem to know nothing about. Weststigers spoke to the manager some weeks ago and he insisted that Farah not be told about it. Get it!!
Then, the manager told Farah about the meeting on the way home from the Canberra game.
Get it!!
The media got wind of the outcome ( from whom do you think? ) and it was then that the WT's released the statement.
At all times the club has been going out of its way to protect Farah and have shown great respect.
Any fan that does not think that Farah has been a good player over a long period of time are kidding themselves. However, any fan that believes that Farah's form has not slipped big time are also kidding themselves.
For better or for worse, the club has decided that the future of the club is tied to the likes of Teddy, Moses and Brooks. Because of the interest in these three players, we were forced to pay "overs" to keep them. This could be the greatest tactical victory of all time or it could be a disaster. Time will tell.
The club was nearly destroyed by the previous management team and had NOTHING to do with the current administration. They were put in place to save this club and that is what they are trying to do. Everyone knows that our salary cap situation is dire. This is the first step on the road to fixing the problem. There may be a lot more steps to be taken in the future.
Some people on this forum seem to think that the current board is setting out to destroy the club. Taylor was hired not only to coach the team, but to totally overturn the old firms crap.
It will be hard and painful for some players and fans, but, in my opinion, very, very necessary if we are to be competitive on a regular basis.

This is my first post although I have been a supporter for 50 years, of the tigers.
I feel that its easy to blame management for whats going on now at the club, we all love.
The cold hard facts are the players and coach have not performed.
the captain and coach must shoulder the responsibility of where the team is now.
Yes Robbie has been a loyal club man to a point, but since 2014 his position in the origin team has been of utmost importance to him.He changed his style of play in 2014 to suit origin, which has led to his under performance at the Tigers.
look at origin 2 2015 he was injured and moved heaven and earth to play and when he is injured will not play for the tigers.
how many games did he play this year, is it 11 hardly worthy of $900,000.
As for JT I have never seen a coach who takes positives week in week out from a flogging.
I suggest more players are shown the door and the young players given a go.
sure we wont win any games but are we now.
The money saved will help in 2017.
And i would love to see someone like Blocker roach put in as coach. He wouldn't be happy after a loss and loves the club just not for the money, like some players and coaches.
Your last sentence blasted any credibility you may have had.
Blocker is one troublemaker that need to be kept away from WTs

Who cares? You said that Go is hiding away eating Krispy Kremes and I just highlighted it's not her responsibility.
Sorry to correct you but I never said a word about Go and her Krispy Kremes, but is that what she's doing, I was wondering.
Doesn't matter though. There's nothing important happening That would be of interest to her.
@goldcoast tiger said:b: Cherrington is better than Farah already??????????questionable Defence????????? Cherrington cannot tackle !!!! And is not ready for first grade on a regular basis
Not sure if you understood what I posted. Go back to 2004, Farah wasn't exactly the best defender in the team and couldn't play 80 minutes. He obviously went on to be a great hooker. Cherrington is at the same point in his career (~Farah circa 2004).
@goldcoast tiger said:I shudder to think how we will go with Cherrington, Brooks and Moses in the same team regularly.
We will go fine. Club must back the rising (& cheap) talent.
@goldcoast tiger said:Hope we get Fensom from the Raiders, as there's going to be a big shortfall there somewhere
Look….finding creative hookers/halves/fullbacks at a reasonable price IS VERY hard. Finding players that can tackle heaps is NOT hard. Further Farah made 50 tackles per match, but he is not exactly the world's biggest hitter in defence. When did he bend the offensive line with his defence? Farah is a solid defender by all means, but we can find them anywhere and for a lot cheaper than $950k per season.
@TrueTiger said:I will give you a little insight on why Robbie is going….
I have a friend who's brother is a top NRL player,I dont want to name them as I dont think it would be fair to them....but the people who met me at the forum get together know who Iam and what Im like...
Robbie has been noted as not getting on with some of the younger players in this team..why ?
the answer I was given by the NRL player is,Robbie constantly berates them non stop during the games,he is always screaming and yelling at them apparently and has no margin for error..
If these younger ones are to learn, constantly berating them isnt going to help...if they were to want to leave the WTs because of this, then maybe this is why RF is going....maybe now you guys may see why the relationship between Farah and Taylor is "untenable"..
Taylor wants to develope these kids not cruel them at any given time...

Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor admits he may end up with egg on his face but he has defended the NRL club's decision to axe captain Robbie Farah. Veteran one-club player Farah has been told to look for another club for next season despite having two years left on his contract as the club battles its salary cap mess.
Tigers fans are up in arms at the culling of one of the club's favourite sons which comes in the wake of decisions to let go Blake Austin and Adam Blair, who have excelled at other clubs this year. Taylor said he had been forced to make some hard decisions since taking over ahead of the 2015 season but all were made with the goal to return the Tigers to the top eight in the future. "My feelings are that we need a fresh start and Robbie needs a fresh start," said Taylor. "We'd love nothing more than to see Robbie play for an opposition club and play really, really well. "There is every chance he can do that. "That might put some egg on my face but I think it would be really good for Robbie."
