Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

I haven't heard thats the problem(berating Team mates) but what i have noticed this season are the other Fwd's not rushing in too help Robbie if he's about to be dumped or driven back, good eg on the w/end was when he was stripped of the ball, our blokes just stood and watched as he struggled with the Cronulla bloke.
It really stands out if you watch a Tigers game after a Storm or Bronco' s match, our Fwds just don't have the same pack mentality of those Teams.

A: we have an acting CEO….Moss. Does he actually exist or is he a figment of our Boards imagination??????

Who cares? You said that Go is hiding away eating Krispy Kremes and I just highlighted it's not her responsibility.

Sorry to correct you but I never said a word about Go and her Krispy Kremes, but is that what she's doing, I was wondering.
Doesn't matter though. There's nothing important happening That would be of interest to Herod there???

b: Cherrington is better than Farah already??????????questionable Defence????????? Cherrington cannot tackle !!!! And is not ready for first grade on a regular basis

Not sure if you understood what I posted. Go back to 2004, Farah wasn't exactly the best defender in the team and couldn't play 80 minutes. He obviously went on to be a great hooker. Cherrington is at the same point in his career (~Farah circa 2004).

@goldcoast tiger said:
I shudder to think how we will go with Cherrington, Brooks and Moses in the same team regularly.

We will go fine. Club must back the rising (& cheap) talent.

Hope we get Fensom from the Raiders, as there's going to be a big shortfall there somewhere

Look….finding creative hookers/halves/fullbacks at a reasonable price IS VERY hard. Finding players that can tackle heaps is NOT hard. Further Farah made 50 tackles per match, but he is not exactly the world's biggest hitter in defence. When did he bend the offensive line with his defence? Farah is a solid defender by all means, but we can find them anywhere and for a lot cheaper than $950k per season.

You reckon that finding players that can tackle is easy, well how come we can't come across a couple of them laying around somewhere that we could grab

Fults was the last of our reliable defenders who could be depended on game after game
But you must know where we can get more like that.
As for Farah not being the biggest hitter, are you serious???????
Have you **Ever come across a big hitter who could consistently pull off 45or so tackles in a game, if you do let all the clubs know. They'll fall over themselves to sign him
Get real\
\
Finally where do you get that Brooks and Moses are cheap, both are at best potential first graders and between them they are costing us 1.2 million(at the cheapest, (maybe more if they put a gun at the clubs head)for next year
God knows what ridiculous money they'll throw at Cherrington if he looks sideways at another club
Keep the rose coloured glasses on, we may need them soon**

I will give you a little insight on why Robbie is going….
I have a friend who's brother is a top NRL player,I dont want to name them as I dont think it would be fair to them....but the people who met me at the forum get together know who Iam and what Im like...

Robbie has been noted as not getting on with some of the younger players in this team..why ?

the answer I was given by the NRL player is,Robbie constantly berates them non stop during the games,he is always screaming and yelling at them apparently and has no margin for error..
If these younger ones are to learn, constantly berating them isnt going to help...if they were to want to leave the WTs because of this, then maybe this is why RF is going....maybe now you guys may see why the relationship between Farah and Taylor is "untenable"..
Taylor wants to develope these kids not cruel them at any given time...

TT there is no doubt that Farah has a very dominant personality but often in a team sport such a personality type can rub other team players, including the coach, the wrong way.

Newtown,Taylor is the coach, from what I was told,RFs job is to lead the team and guide them around the ground, not constantly berate them, that doesnt help, they are learning and it doesnt matter how dominant a personality you have..no wonder they are spilling balls and making errors…their in fear of upsetting Robbie and putting pressure on themselves in the mean time....

I can't believe people are blaming Farah for the mess.
It's not his fault he has a contract.
If anybody seriously thinks he would prefer to play for anybody else in the NRL but the Tigers they have rocks in their heads.
There is a simple solution ….. make him CEO.
That would put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Lol what about making him coach, he seems an expert on them

Couldn't be any worse than what we've got

Now that Farah is going Moses and Broooks will be exposed.
They can't guide us around without Farah.
Can't remember us winning with these 2 and no Farah.

I still want to know who's going to pull their finger out and start doing the defence that they've been happy to leave to Farah over the last 10 yrs. oh that's right….Cherrington of course..no wait?????

Defece? Don't worry GCT….Lovett to the rescue :sunglasses:

Reports that Robbie met with Maguire three weeks ago, so the plot thickens.

Robbie said he suspected this was coming for a while now. Of course he's going to look for other employment. Wouldn't you?

Not if I really wanted to stay. I'd be doing everything in my power to play to my best ability, lead the team as captain, assist other players, and negotiate a way forward re my contract.
But then, that's me.

He doesn't have to negotiate anything, he will get what he is owed.

this small circus thats been WT for the last few years has now officially turned into a touring carnival.
Whilst i wont bang on about how absolutely useless and destructive Jason Taylor is as a coach and a person, i will continue to say this;
This is not how you treat the captain. Regardless of what is perceived or delivered in the media.
Laurie daley coming out and stating he will pick Farah for origin even if hes playing reserve grade is a very very embarrassing situation for the tigers. Thats something that casts a very big question mark over the coach.
can any of you imagine !
if i were Robbie, id suck up a little pride and dig the heals in. Play reserve grade. Get paid the $900+
continue to talk positive of the club and work with the club sponsors an charities…. all the time reminding people that "hey, this is what the coach wants"
The sad thing about this is, with the split in the board and the divides between Balmain and Tigers, your coach is setting the club up to be primed to be either broken up once and for all and or even shipped over to Perth. The WEST............
Thanks JT awesome job. you have done an a w e s o m e job thus far.

Don't be surprised if that's not exactly what he does, once we lose a few games the pressure would be right on pour Faux Coach, to get one of our few good players back in, could be really interesting.
I'd hate to be playing against him in the reserves.

Does he berate himself when he say…kicks it out on the full...kick it dead... get stripped of the ball ..throws a poor pass....play for a penalty instead of rolling up the field to set up a FG in golden point....just wondering...

Of course he will (and should) get what he's owed. I'm not going to suggest otherwise. I was stating what I would do or try to do.

Seems to me that they have the biggest margin for error that I have ever seen for anyone in first grade. It wouldn't surprise me , if a lot of players were peed of that they have no accountability for their performances

Our blokes just stand and watch most of the time. What's new about that.

Canberra game, when the big prop( whatever his name is) barged over under the posts
Our forwards looked for a place to Hide and left it to Teddy , and I think it was Cherrington, right on the line to try and stop him , resulting in another try, it wasn't Cherrington or Teddys fault. The pack just disappeared as happens often in our team, and left it to others to do the work
We are WTs that's what we do.

Oh boy…...this one is one of those " My brother in law's......cousin......best mate is an NRL player and told me on good authority that Farah is constantly screaming at them :unamused: , seriously TT.

It's like me making a post and saying " i have a friend who's brother is a top NRL player and said that the players find Taylor's Coaching methods boring and has no idea about game plans and want him gone ".
I have no proof or can't name my source.....so why would i bother .
I think it's disrespectful you coming out with such a quote about Farah when Farah is not able to reply to your so called reasoning for Farah getting the boot .

From my observation Farah is actually the opposite and can recall countless times where i have seen Farah running over to Brooks and Moses and patting them on the head when making a mistake (forward pass, kicking out on a full ) and for this reason Farah's game has taken a hit cause he is not playing his natural game and all he does is give service to Brooks and Moses , when was the last time Farah has kicked in goal from 5 metres out ? He doesn't control our plays anymore .

The reason Farah has been given the boot is Because we have Salary Cap issues and they know full well that Farah will be costing us $1 Million per Season when his Market value at the moment would be maybe $500,000 per Season or there abouts , Farah might not be that popular within the playing group ? i don't know....but what i see during our games is far from what you claim he does to our young ones and giving them a serve .

Taylor is crapping himself he knows he will be treading on water next year and is desperate to get some results , why would he come out and say " i could have egg on my face " in relation with Farah , that has desperation written all over it .

FT ,Im not disrespectful,I have said what was told to me..I have pm you my source and explanation…

not all things are as they seem..I have said many times that Robbie was great for this club early on,these latter years have definately not been his best..If it was somebody else I was talking about and not Farah,I dont think you would of called me disrespectful..
I for one on this forum stay positive and try and find the best in people not the bad..If Robbie has made his bed he has to lay in it...

You know FT for the first time in all this I actually agree with you.
No doubt at all Taylor will be concerned about this decision and the potential results. But good on him. At least he had the balls to stand up and say this must be done for the good of the club. He didn't just say it he did it. It's there it is on his record and he will have to live or die by it. But at least he didn't put his tail between his legs and pretend there was no problem. Good on him.
How many times have I read about mediocrity at this club. Now somebody is dealing with it and he's being pilloried.

I've got a feeling that the reserve grade comment was tongue in cheek

If Farah did decide to stay the club wouldn't play him in reserve grade

It wasnt tongue in cheek. it was a comment directed at him to pressure him out of the club.

So you honestly think if Robbie decides to stay ( and it is a very big possibility still ) that he will play reserve grade ??

Cherrington isn't ready yet to play 60 + minutes a week and if Farah kills it playing reggies the WT's will look like fools

I'm not saying you are a disrespectful Human being don't misunderstand me , what i'm saying is it's disrespectful to make a quote that Farah berates the young ones when Farah isn't able to defend himself from those accusations .

You don't need to let the open Forum know about your PM and explanation cause if i'm honest it's a poor example cause the player you have mentioned has never played against Farah on the field so tell your mate to get his facts straight , i will PM you the proof .
Also that NRL player you have PM'd me doesn't even play for the Wests Tigers and wouldn't even know what happens on the field matters relating to the Wests Tigers as his never played against us with Farah on the field .
