Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

I get the feeling some ppl have it in for the coach no matter what he says or does.

Yeah I know JT is no Wayne Bennett, but for years most supporters cried out for personnel changes and for a coach and a board to take he bull by the horns and make some big calls for the future of our club.

We finally have that and it's still not good enough?

FT ,Im not disrespectful,I have said what was told to me..I have pm you my source and explanation…

not all things are as they seem..I have said many times that Robbie was great for this club early on,these latter years have definately not been his best..If it was somebody else I was talking about and not Farah,I dont think you would of called me disrespectful..
I for one on this forum stay positive and try and find the best in people not the bad..If Robbie has made his bed he has to lay in it...

I'm not saying you are a disrespectful Human being don't misunderstand me , what i'm saying is it's disrespectful to make a quote that Farah berates the young ones when Farah isn't able to defend himself from those accusations .

You don't need to let the open Forum know about your PM and explanation cause if i'm honest it's a poor example cause the player you have mentioned has never played against Farah on the field so tell your mate to get his facts straight , i will PM you the proof .
Also that NRL player you have PM'd me doesn't even play for the Wests Tigers and wouldn't even know what happens on the field matters relating to the Wests Tigers as his never played against us with Farah on the field .

Someone's got holes in their story lol

TT I understand that you have confidence in whoever gave you this info. But you get to see an awful lot in fairly good closeup on TV these days , and the most innocuous little things get picked up quickly by at least one of the multiple commentators and or the mikes, and they're on it in a flash, if they all miss it the back room boys are still liable to pick it up
And I can truthfully say that I have not seen any evidence of Farah having a screaming match or even a heated discussion with any of our players at all during a game .

As someone else posted earlier, I have seen him approach the younger players after they've had a stuff up, and give them a pat on the back or on the head to let them know it's ok, but I've only missed one match involving WTs this year, and as the TV Guys love nothing more than controversy to make their commentary a bit spicier, they would not let something like that go without trying to make something out of it.
I've never heard one commentator say anything about anything like that
If it was happening, I think it would have been picked up somewhere

…......Taylor is crapping himself he knows he will be treading on water next year and is desperate to get some results , why would he come out and say " i could have egg on my face " in relation with Farah , that has desperation written all over it .

You know FT for the first time in all this I actually agree with you.
No doubt at all Taylor will be concerned about this decision and the potential results. But good on him. At least he had the balls to stand up and say this must be done for the good of the club. He didn't just say it he did it. It's there it is on his record and he will have to live or die by it. But at least he didn't put his tail between his legs and pretend there was no problem. Good on him.
How many times have I read about mediocrity at this club. Now somebody is dealing with it and he's being pilloried.

So you think that is the way to conduct yourself as a Coach ? when Farah still has 2 years left on his deal to threaten him that if he stays at our Club he will be in Reserve Grade WOW!!!

Well guess what ? you know how i'm thinking now ? if i was Farah i would be saying to myself " who the Hell does this Pasty face think he is….I'm going to call his bluff and stay at the Club for the next 2 years and play Reserve Grade , if i'm going Pasty face is coming with me as i am a thorn in his backside and preventing him getting other players cause of me ".
Talk about Bullying and harrasement , Farah doesn't need to go anywhere the money will be there in his account every Month .
You just don't treat people like that after 13 years of service to our Club , don't blame Farah for it blame past Management.
Same as Lawrence as much as he wasn't playing well for many years some wanted him gone , he has a Contract and if Lawrence wants to see it out he deserves the respect in doing so the same way as Farah does , regardless how badly out of form they might be.

TT that post above I don't know why but my post was added after another post. My post was only the last two paragraphs starting at TT. The first two paragraphs are not mine
Hope you understood that lol

FT,GC,as I said in my earlier thread,it was told to me from a person connected in the NRL …I didn't want an I said you said they said type of scenario, just passing on what I heard...it may not get picked up on TV etc,but it has come from somewhere,I didn't say it just to talk garbage..
Just to let you know I'm not the type of person to want to big note myself,Im a very passionate person, especially when it comes to the Tiges, but sometimes things get said and passed on to others..I thought it may clear a few things up,however,it seems we will have to see what eventuates, because in the end the truth always comes out...
And also FT,I was one of Robbies greatest admirers, but after the Potter fiasco I have had some reservations...

Indeed, I'm sure many WT supporters have thought about that. I know I have. My thoughts are; Yes that is certainly an option for him. Cruise along, fat and happy, suck in his paycheque and throw stones at the club he says he loves. How puerile is that?
I actually give him more credit than that. Unlike many fans, he understands what is happening. It goes without saying he doesn't like it and no doubt has some real and understandable concerns for his playing future but he's a man. He's not going to play little boys games. I seriously doubt that he will want to be remembered as the WT spoiler. He will want to be remembered as the contender that he is. He has the skills to ensure that happens.
But anyway, wish whatever you want for him.

He's not going to play reserve grade. I'm sure Farah isn't stupid enough to believe that one. They just want him gone. They'll say anything, they might well say he'll be the head cheerleader.

I've got a feeling that the reserve grade comment was tongue in cheek

If Farah did decide to stay the club wouldn't play him in reserve grade

It wasnt tongue in cheek. it was a comment directed at him to pressure him out of the club.

So you honestly think if Robbie decides to stay ( and it is a very big possibility still ) that he will play reserve grade ??

Cherrington isn't ready yet to play 60 + minutes a week and if Farah kills it playing reggies the WT's will look like fools

Whats your point mate.

Your buddy Taylor told him to his face. Why would Robbie take it any other way but the way it is said.

It doesnt need a code to crack, it was a black and white statement.

I will give you a little insight on why Robbie is going….
I have a friend who's brother is a top NRL player,I dont want to name them as I dont think it would be fair to them....but the people who met me at the forum get together know who Iam and what Im like...

Robbie has been noted as not getting on with some of the younger players in this team..why ?

the answer I was given by the NRL player is,Robbie constantly berates them non stop during the games,he is always screaming and yelling at them apparently and has no margin for error..
If these younger ones are to learn, constantly berating them isnt going to help...if they were to want to leave the WTs because of this, then maybe this is why RF is going....maybe now you guys may see why the relationship between Farah and Taylor is "untenable"..
Taylor wants to develope these kids not cruel them at any given time...

Have you ever in all the live games youve been to seen or heard him act like this?

Look im not Farah's biggest fan but ive been to plenty of live games and this statement is a crock of you know what.

And mine is a question if you re check what I asked

If Farah stays (which he still wants to do , his words not mine ) do you think the WT's would stick Farah in NSW Cup ??

They won't , simple as that because they have too much too lose He would make them look like a dunderheads if they played him in NSW Cup

They may have said it , but they wouldn't do it

exactly.
This is what i have said all along.
todays interview with JT revealed a lot - a lot more than was said.
people want to bag Robbie for whatever has happened in the past but if you look at the over all situation and what has transpired in the last 2 days anyone who has a clear understanding of how clubs work and what successful clubs and coaches do - you will know this is the action of someone who knows hes on borrowed time and is looking for a scape goat.

play in reserves Robbie.
it will be a very good statement and will also ultimately prove the farce this situation is.

LOL….get real

2 years ?
no way,
but what i will say is if he does a month there will be enough embarrassment directed at the club that you might get a positive reaction to this circus.

and while we're at it - insanneink - im curious to know your stance.
are you a fan of the club
do you want to see it succeed
do you think the salary cap line - knowing the tigers will stay pay up to 70% of his 900K - is honest ?
is this the right message and move considering you have a very young side.
young kids with very very strong connections to other club legends who all …..... the current coach
if its no-ones fault - then whats the upside of this - keeping in mind that everything the coach has tried to thus far has back fired spectacularly this year.
if you were CEO what would you do moving forward knowing your young cubs have lost complete confidence in the coach and the coach is now pulling these kinds of moves that reflect badly on the entire organization.
im interested ?

I've heard that Daley is backing him even if he does play reggies Ink

Sure as hell be a massive statement and I reckon Robbie could be a stubborn mule

I think the WT's will have a figure in their heads about what is the minimum they will take from a rival NRL club (Half) and I reckon no one will be prepared to hit that figure

I'm not saying Robbie will stay , but I'm not prepared to say he won't stay

Watching Vautin be interviewed on Sterlo last night , saying his first season at the Roosters all he wanted was to be at Manly

I think Robbie could be in the same boat

Yeah it is a childish mind thought.
Why would he be known as a Wests Tigers spoiler? Maybe to you but not me, he has a Contract he would like to honour what is so hard to understand? Regardless if I think his past his best aswell he shouldn't be blamed for the Contract he signed, the same way for Lawrence.

By the time he finishes this Contract he will be 34 and he can go to England and play for a side there and watch his Soccer team while his at it, he knows his on borrowed time and might think that his not going purely on principal.

Whatever he decides I won't be holding it against him.

I seriously doubt that Farah would decide to do the childish thing and stay to play reggies to spite the club. He is a proud man, not a weaselly little kid. But if he did stay to spite the club all they'd have to do is put him on the bench. Thanks for your time. Can't see it though.

This is the question I think must be answered -

Does the Club have confidence in Taylor to nurture his young players; deliver success and also have the charisma to retain them for the long term future of the franchise?

My answer to this is to ring Geoff Toovey asap to see if he is interested in the coaching role.
