Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

So if what your saying is true then Taylor might as well walk away on Monday as it is obvious from what you have stated he has lost the players and they have no respect for him and are seeking council with Farah . So Taylor should walk away on Monday as next year will not improve at all he is a lame duck.

Mate all emotion aside, this is what a lot of people have been saying for a while now.
The younger kids / team just do not like him and have taken to anything he's said or done.
The fact that they go to Robbie has been the issue from day dot.

I mean you have past players like Lote putting a picture of him bashed with the comment - wonder if Taylor will go to mad Monday. Again…. This is the sentiment to was the coach.

Forget his name
This is the sentiment towards the coach - and its shared by the players.

Some of the new support staff have already resigned . Hard when the coach tells you to focus on one key area of training one week, and changes the complete focus the next!

The Board has a fair bit to answer for here their inexperience is showing up big time. If Taylor does go then Payten may be the one who could work with the team as it is.

if a coach only wants yes men around him , then I also can see why Taylor wants him out

I hear what you are saying, but that argument swings both ways.

Maybe JT doesn't like the challenge to his authority, and maybe the challenge is justified because JT is a mug coach. Or maybe Farah is a destabilising influence for an otherwise decent coach, who struggles to implement necessary change without Farah undermining him.

Voice of the people vs white ant, it really depends on your personal opinion.

Can't think of anyone else who would come in cheap and already has an association with Farah and the players he wouldn't be starting form behind the eight ball.

Agree Cunno … He did very well with the youth team a few years ago ... Surprised he left ... Probably when Potter got the job ahead of him. I would have no problems with Toddy taking the top job if the board decides on a change in direction.

Benji Marshall on NRL 360 tonight:

In 2012 both he and Robbie took $80,000 and $200,000 pay cuts respectively to keep the squad under the salary cap with the $400,000 outstanding to be paid to Robbie in 2016-17 in this current contract.

So in reality Robbie isn't on $900,000 a year but $700,000 a year for the next 2 years with the outstanding balance being what he is owed for past services (When he was killing it in the Sheen's days).

Benji's thoughts on Robbie as a person:

- Extremely passionate about everything he does - The Tigers
- As a result he isn't everybody's cup of tea
- Handles losses extremely hard
- Was the only person to put other players in line when they stuffed up whilst Benji was at the club up until 2013
- If he doesn't think something is being done in the best interests of the Tigers he doesn't take a backseat and lets his opinion be known

He also thinks that this whole situation is JT wanting to show who's boss by removing the only person with the balls to stand up him when he thinks things are being done wrong.

To be honest I'm a big fan of Robbie but considering what Benji has just shared on NRL360 it's no surprise JT wants to remove Robbie from the club. The only thing that makes it hard to cop is how much he has given to this club including the aforementioned pay cuts he took.

Such a difficult situation for the club and at the end of the day there will be no winner.

Farah isnt perfect Tony, he needed to be pulled into line.

From what ive been told though he has changed his ways a little this year.Benji wouldnt be aware of this.

Unfortunately being the big personality at the club he is the young players seek him out when they have issues. This whole thing started because the young players kept going to Farah with their concerns on the coaching. Farah re-assured them for most of the season until recently he approached Taylor with the teams concerns.

Taylor wants Farah gone for no other reason than to eliminate the young players going to him. He doesnt like the way they look up to him as it kind of diminishes his role and influence on the playing squad.

This is just what ive been told, no more no less. Make of it what you will, see if sounds like truth.

Interesting, so no coach is going to have an easy time of it then with Robbie there by the sounds. How many other coaches would put up with that?

The top coaches in Hasler / Bennett etc wouldn't need to put up with a rebelling Farah cause they know what they're doing .
Taylor doesn't .

Exactly JT just isn't management material, big bad scary Farah we sound like some teenage girls at a pijama party.. Oo I don't like that robbie, he's not my friend he upsets me.. so dramatic, so weak, so fragile.. Man up a little. Look Des, all class, all style and all cahunas.. For Christ sakes he has the lunatic graham in his team.. But mum we have robbie.. So so scary I need a hug

I don't give a bugger if he's a purple ant, as long as he can coach, it's a bit early to be thinking that he will go yet. A compromise would be good, but I don't know if it's possible with all the damage that's been done through the the season.

I'd say the incompetent board will have to back the incompetent coach 100%
There's no going back for them now .
We need ex players with smart business credentials on our board , not some ex CEO or whatever from better homes and gardens magazine .
Yeah …lets keep paying our ex players to play against us , that's a real executive decision :unamused:

Wow just Wow….Todd Payten...the Club wants to move forward...

Irrespective if you are in the Taylor camp the Farah camp ....if the board suddenly backflip on their decision it will be a bigger mistake than making it in the first place....How people can really believe we are better off letting player power control the direction the Club takes is beyond me.... we are truly doomed...

What half decent Coach in their right mind would come within cooee of the place...Oh another boys club man...awesome...

Possibly, but regardless of that, would any other coach be happy with players doing what they are supposedly doing?

Adding to the fact we aren't going to get the "top coaches" to not avoid this situation and it'll be pure supposition on how well any other coach will do.

Sorry Geo, it's not player power
It's coach incompetence,
and it's been shown a lot through this year,
The board will go wherever the money wants it to go. Or they might surprise all and get a compromise , which had it been done before it got to this stage, would've been the best result.

How true ..what amazes me is the no problem flicking Taylor for some one else and Farah remains ..that would be 2 coaches in 2 years and most here see nothing wrong with it .
What the hell is going on with this club and I agree if this did happen the club is finished a total laughing stock .

C'mon Geo , for all Farah's faults wouldn't you rather have him their with the full team behind him than have a scarecrow standing in the middle of a training paddock calling his mum saying " no ones listening to me mum "
