So, if it's serious, then we should hear something about it pretty soon then?

Been having a think about this….

This is just a whole sorry saga. Unless there is some miracle back down and compromise we are now at the point where one of them needs to hit the road - Taylor or Farah. The compromise I would propose is Farah steps down as captain in 2016, and stops down from Origin in 2017, thus giving the club a fresh leader and more value for money.

My gut feeling is that Taylor is a dud and has little respect within the dressing room and on the outside.
I understand people saying that we need to stop backing players and get behind the coach but i just go with my gut instincts on this one. I supported Potter in last years saga and wanted the board to back him, because I believed in his character. I don't believe in Taylor's character.

This has been how i see it as well.

I supported Potter over the players last year but this time it is a little different as i dont rate Taylor.

It seems the whole mess was created by the coach not the players.

Thats the difference here.

Farahs taken pay cut to stay at Wests Tigers, headline on Seven this morning
Haven't seen any full story about it,
I thought it wasn't about money?
Maybe Harrys come to the rescue?
Didn't say anything about our "coach"

One thing most teams have who usually finish well below the eight have in common is…Drama, and we have it by the truck load.

In a perfect world it would be great if Farah and Taylor could form a partnership and take this club on a winning road, but it is obvious that will and can not happen, the board have invested and embraced in Taylors vision rightly or wrongly..so Farah is the one getting evicted. The last thing we want is another 12 months of the captain and the coach being on a different page

GCT hopefully our "coach" is off doing special projects work.

I just don't know anymore. I don't know who to believe, who to trust…. The club is an embarrassment... There is no professionalism... There is no PRIDE.... there is nothing but amateurism and I feel ashamed to admit I'm a West's Tigers fan.
I've lost all confidence in the joint... Lost all enthusiasm... Just feel like walking away.... Thankfully it's round 26 and somewhat all over in four days

I think thats referring to the interview with Benji last night on NRL 360 where he talked about Robbie taking $400,000 ofF his salary over two years to allow the club to remain under the cap in 2012 Could be wrong.

Farah is gone. His position is untenable.

The club have backed the decision/coach and are trying to put on a "total accountability" front so there will be no backflip.

My faith in Go, Moss and the coach will vapourise if they back down from the decision. You've nailed your colours to the mast, now have some conviction and confidence in the decision and stick by it. Rolling over now would be tantamount to the admin giving into player power on Sheens and Potter.

1000000% agree

You guys are forgetting the main point here - he has a contract for 2 more years and does not have to go anywhere.
No matter what anyone says or does …

So he'll get nearly 2 million quid to stay away from the place.

You're talking like the club won't honour his contract. They will, they want him away from the club. They'll just pay him to sit on his hands ala Sheens.

Hope so . There's been very little said on any news broadcasts , so it's all a bit vague yet,
Maybe Robbies written off his loan to them from his last contract?

That was the point CB.
How could it help to pay someone a million dollars out of your cap for two years running to sit on the sideline?
Farah has every right to the money, so no one can begrudge him his entitlement - especially when a chunk of it has been owed to him for years.
Amateur hour never ends at our club.

Forgive my ignorance, but when has anyone on this forum said he's not entitled to the money?

He will get it, as he should.

Have a think about it, if the club are willing to pay a massive chunk of his contract obviously the moves behind this are not financial ones. They don't want him near the club…

You may be right, it just came up as a headline
Don't know if it's on their full news broadcast or not.
I was on my way out when I saw it.
It was ch 7 who had the ( short) story last night about the " crises meeting" that was called last night with Bryden Lawyers prominent in that, 7 said that sponsors were angry about the situation , and other sponsors were also involved,
As that story about the money he was owed from his former contract came out originally on Saturday , I don't know if that was what the headline was about this morning, but maybe it is. With this saga, who knows???

Well, that obviously is the case.
Why doesn't someone have the guts to actually stand up, be accountable for the decision and give the real reason instead of hiding behind the salary cap.
(That still doesn't change the fact we'll be a million down on our cap.)

I thought our Chair did?

_Asked if Farah didn't fit the culture the club was trying to foster, Go said: "Taking a big-picture view of the team and looking at where the opportunities are to increase the unity, spirit of the team and the culture, a decision has been made about what needs to happen next.\
\
"As a result, we've informed Robbie we are giving him permission to speak to other people. We're not kicking him out, we've basically said 'based on what we want to achieve next year, we're happy for you to explore other options'. You'd have to say in the scheme of the big picture and what we need to build for the future, **there's a sentiment that no, he doesn't."**_

It's a long sentence, but in a nut shell, the board has made the decision that he doesn't fit the culture the club is trying to build.

Because they are trying to maintain his image and public profile.

I can see for and against from both sides….It's sad that it came to this....I hope Robbie stays for at least 2016 and enjoys every minute of it. We have to bring him and the coach together and call it a draw so that we can start next year on the front foot.... :sign:
