New Newcastle coach Nathan Brown is keen to make some additions to his squad ahead of the 2016 NRL season, but out-of-favour Wests Tigers rake Robbie Farah won’t be among them.
Farah had been linked to a move to the Knights ever since Brown was installed as coach in September.
The NSW hooker and former Blues assistant coach have formed a close bond during their time together in State of Origin camp.
However at the club’s first pre-season session at Newcastle Basketball Stadium on Thursday, Brown said there was no chance of Farah joining the Knights.
“Robbie won’t be coming to the club, as far as I am aware Robbie’s No.1 goal is to stay at the Tigers and stay in Sydney,” Brown said.
Brown has appointed former Tigers coach Mick Potter, alongside Mark Andrews, as an assistant coach. Rightly or wrongly Farah was fingered for Potter’s exit from Concord and that situation could have created problems if the former Tigers skipper moved to the Knights.
NSW halfback Trent Hodkinson is the Knights’ key off-season acquisition. Former NRL prop Mickey Paea has also been added to the club’s roster alongside Todd Lowrie.
But Brown said he was still looking to bolster the reigning wooden spooners.
“There are a number of sides out there that have salary cap trouble and we are under the cap and we have a little bit of money available,” Brown said.
“We are looking across the board whether it be a front rower, an edge back-rower … there are a number of spots are keen to add too if we can and the money has to be right, we certainly don’t want to be over spending.
“We have lots of decent young kids, we need to have a look where they are at so we are not blocking a pathway.”

I know it's been said a million times before but the way I see it, If All these Farah vrs the coach problems only started when Taylor walked into camp Concord I would be very concerned that Farah was being unfairly targeted,but he had similar drama surrounding him under Potters tenure and there was talk Sheens and Farah parted on poor terms and let's face no other club is trying to offload players to squeeze him under their cap.
Once again he has a contract and is 100% within his rights to stand his grounds but Iam not sure Taylor is the only bad guy in this soap opera. A lot of damage has been done and with the likely hood of a poor season in 2016,it's highly unlikely Taylor will survive the season.
I doubt we will never know the real story but where there is smoke there is fire and there has been smoke now for a long time and the smoke started well before Taylor arrived on the scene

Whats not to say JT has seen, or been told of… the writing on the wall as early as mid this season, and decided in his own personal judgement that what is in the best interests of the club is that he takes Farah down with him - or at least gets those wheels in motion - when Taylor himself is punted, whenever that may be.
His legacy, if you will.

Ok guys I have read all 200 pages and been closely following this in the media . It's actually depressing seeing our club being put through the ringer . Can someone answer me this ?
Has Taylor actually said why he is trying to move Farah on ?
I have heard it's the way forward and all that usual media gobbledegook but has he come out with any specific reason ? If he was such a bad egg why didn't he drop him to reggies last year ? He has now signed a hooker that's not as good as Farah so he obviously doesn't rate cHerrington either .
Maybe someone could enlighten me if Taylor has actually come out with specific reason .

INCOMING Wests Tigers hooker Matt Ballin reportedly called Robbie Farah to clear the air before the joint-venture club could announce the ex-Manly star’s arrival at Concord.
Ballin, who found himself in a remarkably similar position to Farah when he was shown the door by the Sea Eagles in August, said he thought the former captain deserved a courtesy call.
“I would’ve liked to have talked to him (Farah) a lot earlier, but it just wasn’t possible,” Ballin told News Corp Australia.
“So I called him before the Tigers announced (on Tuesday). We had a really good chat.
“I just thought he deserved the respect from me to call him and, I guess, let him say what he needed to say to me and so then we could talk about the situation.

“It didn’t make it any easier for him, but I’ve been through the same thing over here (Manly) and I just said, ‘I know how you feel’.
“He was really good and he said he knew it was nothing personal or my fault, it’s just the way footy is these days.”
Farah’s future remains unknown, with the Tigers attempting to release their star hooker who was told if he stayed at the joint venture he’d be playing reserve grade.
Ballin, who is in doubt for the Tigers’ season opener in 2016 after rupturing his ACL against Parramatta in August, said he planned to learn from the Blues rake with the pair working together.

The 31-year-old, who debuted for the Sea Eagles in 2007 and had recently signed a new contract to keep him at the club until the end of 2017, contacted new Manly coach Trent Barrett to see if reports of him being on the outer were correct.
“He was very genuine and honest and told me the club was moving in a different direction and gave me the reasons why,” he said.
“We both listened to each other so there’s definitely no bad blood there.
“I then spoke to Jason Taylor and it was like chalk and cheese. It was a no from one coach and a yes from another.
“He (Taylor) went into detail and was really impressive in defining what he thought I could offer the club.”

Robbie should probably go for his own good. Although does he have anywhere to go? I feel sorry for him really. He will be playing reserves if he stays, and he doesn't deserve that.
People can say Robbie is always a factor in bringing down coaches but what did he do to undermine Taylor?. He did not do anything to Taylor, Taylor just sacked him basically with 2 years to go on his deal. Robbie didn't try and get Taylor sacked or go against the turgid game plans.
With Farah's history with coaches Taylor prob thought he could garner some support amoung the faithful for his decision. It was a smart move from Taylor really to take the heat off him from the shocking football and results he was producing. "oh its farah again stiring trouble he must be the root of all problems" It was a good deflection in my opinion.
Anyway, in saying all that. I hope Robbie finds somewhere else to play. Ballin is not coming over to play reserves. Robbie will only be damaging himself and the team be clinging on here in our pathetic mess of a organisation. Taylor has made his call and he wont be far behind Robbie out the door if it does not work.

They love Keith or Lawrence or Moltzen or Halatau . Players that never delivered us consistent performance or spent huge chunks of seasons doing nothing.
