Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

People don't have to say that they are against his background or call him any names but their hostility to him here makes me wonder if something else is behind it. I can understand strong fans being upset about the almost wooden spoon and blame his absence due to SOO and associated injury but he is only one player. And the WT probably had less players this year play SOO then other clubs. But the way they are prepared to put the boot into Farah and being disrespectful I don't understand.

Did you see his reaction last year in regards to comments made by Tallis?

I seen his reaction that I understand due to the context. Have I missed any racist thing that Robbie said?

I remember now he said something off colour maybe about a female that he had to apologise for, or should have/

Accusing someone of racism without any grounds other than the fact there's a difference of opinion is pretty offensive and is worthy of a warning imo.

No. Nothing racial. I'm not the one labeling people racists.

You wanted to know a possible reason why some fans want him gone.
Him back dooring it after a game, missing training for a week and then come game day telling the coach he doesn't want to play doesn't set a great example for the younger players. Thats one of the reasons I'd prefer him gone. I'd feel the same if his name was Galloway, Lawrence or Halatua.

Only guessing at excuses he could have been still over emotional about the passing away of his mum. Was the backdooring to avoid Tallis after the Can't coach allegation?
Did he actually miss that game? If not did he play okay?

Mate, no offense but what happened last year is common knowledge to tigers fans. If your not familiar with what happened i can see why you don't know why some fans want him gone.

Thanks for the consideration. After watching the Magpies getting bashed up for decades I can't watch when I think the Tigers are in for a thrashing. So accordingly I miss some games - which I don't think are all broadcasted up here anyway except on Fox that I don't have.

Well if you don't watch us much then maybe just accept that some people may want him gone for valid reasons rather than just assuming they're racist.

Are Farah and Taylor nearing a truce?

Is this another sign Jason Taylor and Robbie Farah are moving closer to peace talks that will see the popular skipper stay at the Wests Tigers?

After a week of working together at pre-season training, Taylor has declared his relationship with Farah is ‘fine’ and they may end up combining to plot the club’s 2016 premiership campaign. That’s despite the NSW No.9 having an open-ended offer to take up an opportunity at another club on top of the arrival of Manly rake Matt Ballin.
“If Robbie stays Robbie will be in the plans and we’ll work together – that’s how it will be,” Taylor told Sky Sports Radio. I’ve heard a lot of talk that it’s untenable and one of us will have to go but it’s just not how it’s going to work.

“We’re both professional guys and that’s how I see it working.”

Asked to describe his relationship with Farah, Taylor replied: “I’d describe it as fine. We spent a fair bit of time together this week as coach and player. “I coached Robbie through plenty of drills and we sat down later in the week and looked through some video and a couple of things he’d be doing we can work on. “It’s not a change (of my stance) in the fact that Robbie was given the opportunity to look around and, if he ended up remaining, he’d always remain (part of the plans).”

Well that should add another 500+ pages!

Yes, that I must concede and apologise if I have made some posters unnecessarily upset.

I just could not understand the hostility. Was all the drama you mentioned due to the Tallis Cant Coach affair?

No, its something positive. Positive stories don't attract a lot of attention.

I don't understand it either Byron, but looks like it will continue now that it seems Robbie is staying.

Could well do …as with a similar article from sportal on Marty is staying a week before he left...I'm tipping Farah will be gone by the end of the week....

I thought the Dragoons where signing him?

Farah has been shown the door but by all reports he wants to stay (no other clubs have come knocking), Taylor has not been shown the door ( by the Board) and so at least in the short term both are stuck with each other. Maybe that realisation has led to both trying to work together on a professional basis even though they probably won't be sending each other Christmas cards.

No, its something positive. Positive stories don't attract a lot of attention.

Is it positive though? - if it's true?

If he's suddenly ambivalent about Farah staying, why get us into this mess?

Why take the risk of paying a marquee signing to play elsewhere when the cap is disastrous?

Either the behaviour's intolerable - if it's a behaviour issue - or it's not.

Very very messy.
