Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

FT, you're right it would be a lot cheaper to get rid of JT over Farah, but the crux of it is that they are backing JT over Farah. The issue isn't which one would cost the club less to see the back of. They're allowing him to do his job, and that's a good thing whether you agree with this decision or not.

It's not so much Robbie moving on per se that concerns me so much as the consequential damage that now seems to be taking place. I was concerned that Robbie's being forced out against his will could see us lose Tedesco who would now be at Canberra but for Farah's efforts of a year or so ago. If Hooper's story is true, it seems we have another ridiculous and HIGHLY embarrassing change of tack and Brooks and Moses are now seen as surplus to requirements and are being offered to rival clubs for 2017 and beyond! This surely destroys whatever authority Taylor might have still had and he has to go. May be something to a previous forum contributor's comment that Pascoe might have already signed Cleary to take over. If the reason Brooks and Moses won't commit beyond 2017 is because they really don't like Taylor and want to see who else might be coaching them, all of this to-ing and fro-ing suddenly starts to make a kind of sense

gallagher I don't think the press could come out with such a definitive statement that does not stand up? If this is their usual ploy surely they would lose credibility and readers wholesale?

To me Jason Taylor dug his own hole further with the Ballin signing IMO, made things alot messier.
Ballin is a fantastic player and I've always been a massive fan of his but in this situation we have just muddied things up more.

JT has finally got his wish let's see what he has now, I'm not expecting a top 8 finish to see out his final year….a 10th to 12th finish is respectable for the squad he has at his disposable
A 14th - 16th finish? He has to take ownership and admit he simply hasn't got it.

It's a great thing the Club and Board backing JT to do his job but the way his gone about this Farah saga? To me he has alot to be desired with player managing skills.

14 - 16 finish and he is deservedly gone. He's cleared the crap and now he has to get the results.

10th to 12th should ensure he sees out his final yr, hopefully with some acquisitions from the open market. His job shouldn't hinge on us making the 8\. But naturally he has to finish us higher up the ladder to avoid the risk of being let go at the end of next yr.

didnt read the entire replies but feels like a masterstroke from farah..

if you want me to go, pay me NOW. if you don't pay, i wont go.
1\. if tigers even consider that, it proves indefinitely that it wasn't about farah the player or farah the captain or the salary cap, it was about farah the person.
2\. farah basically is putting a price on how much do you guys really want me to leave?
3\. i dont think any of this will come out of our salary cap but will leave us almost $2m which we probably don't have.

feels kinda genius to me if i've got it right, if im completely wrong, ignore everything.

also, if JT is the main man behind farewelling farah, i'd happily sack him now. he hasn't shown anything yet and yes once bennet did that with wally but that's a once in a blue moon situation. how many coaches almost get the wooden spoon in the first year, sack probably the best player in the club's history and go on to be successful?

JT is unproven, robbie isn't.

I have been watching some old SOO and WT flare ups with Robbie in the centre, he can certainly hold his own better than Benny Elias. He does not take a backward step.

If he stays in the nrl, his contract amount has to be put into someone's cap. If he leaves the tigers it will be shared but the full amount will be accounted for.

Rudd, Gillard and Abbott all got sacked early so it could happen to anybody. But I have yet to believe until official announcement - too farcical to be true

Cleary finished 15th with the Panthers in 2012 - they then shifted Lewis and Jennings on despite both being under contract. Finished one win out of the 8 in 2013, and then were one win from a GF in 2014.

Besides, this is not purely down to JT. Phil Moss would have had a big hand in this decision, especially given he did the same thing at Penrith (see the above example).

the sooner Robbie's gone the better for everyone involved.

Robbie is not bigger than the team.

Teddy, Moses, Brooks and Ballin will make a great spine.

Would love Farah to go to Manly and we obtain Starling or Lawrence. win/win

JT is not bigger than the club.

He has shown a complete inability to form a gameplan to suit our team and has obviously lost the support of the players as well as the fans.

Bye bye JT…....thanks for destroying the soul of my club and dont let the door hit you on the way out!

Pascoe must have lined up Ivan Cleary.
If this article is true he has to know backflipping on Farah means parting ways with Taylor.
The situation is untenable and it looks like the reason Brooks and Moses have extended their option date.

TYGA, lets hope he has as Cleary on standby to takeover is the coach we need right now. I can't imagine us losing three of our best juniors.
