Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

Well guys I have come to the conclusion that this Farah debacle will be sorted out by the WTs,Ayuob,Farah and Taylor..one way or the other,no matter the result,I'm going to get stuck into my XMAS shopping and festivities…Just as long as there is a WESTS Tigers Team and Club left to support next season, then to hell with who is at fault or should be going..eventually decisions are made wether we agree with them or not..ALL of us and that includes me,aren't going to make one ounce of difference to the outcome, but on the way we are going to lose Forum friends through pointless arguments about who is right and who is wrong....while we are busy posting our opinion or being sarcastic with our replys,we should really spare a thought for the people that don't have the capacity to have an opinion, such as the disabled or very sick..XMAS is a time of Peace Love and Hope..my family and friends are so much more important...I'm sure the people mentioned in my post will still enjoy XMAS,irrespective of the final result,it's the business that their in,other people haven't been dealt the same cards in life to be able to bicker and argue over the mighty dollar..my thoughts and prayers will go out to the less fortunate in life who are battling to make a living and feed and entertain their families at Xmas..also spare a thought for those who have lost loved ones....I really don't care if people want to critise my post,it's just that I have my feet planted firmly on the ground and that there are far more important things in life other than losing friends and arguing pointlessly, over and over again and not getting a solution to a problem that realistically we have no input to other than constant arguements amongst ourselves....Merry Xmas to all ...God bless...

Farah is a marquee player and captain(real) of my club. Is he worth 1 million to the Wests Tigers? Judging by the fans reaction he is worth more.

Either way we support the club first and foremost. Jason Taylors biggest achievement, almost delivering my club a maiden Wooden Spoon. Goodbye Jason Taylor.

I reckon there won't be too many fans at all thinking he is worth 950 k to this club

Even most of his most ardent supporters will baulk at that figure

I think it has already been established there is back loading in that amount so the figure is actually less.

Didn't the DT report that Taylor contacted Souths and tried to swap Farah for McQueen or McInnes AFTER the threat was made? I recall this was confirmed by the Souths CEO.

Interestingly, Souths were concerned about the impact on young McInnis of the signing of Farah however this did not enter into consideration when Ballin was signed by that mutt Taylor.

Your right on both counts.
On the Saturday after the story first broke if my memories right.

What I can't understand is all the bleating on this Forum about Souths, Roosters and Illawarra not taking Farah. These clubs have made a decision to stick by their current rakes. Obviously, the welfare of existing players and squad harmony is important to them. Kudos to them for having the commitment to stay loyal to their squad. This appears to be a novel idea for Taylor who contacted Souths CEO to swap Farah for McInnes or McQueen after the threat was made. It gets confusing and I am reminded of the joke about more positions than the karma sutra.

Taylor apologists and Farah detractors why didn't JT arrange for the full payout in late August as he advised would be done? This is the fundamental issue and could have resulted in the whole matter being resolved quickly and allowed both parties to move on.

Funny - Farah marked as a player running the club for years having too much to say etc

**This week reported that Jake Friend tells the Roosters if Farah signs he walks**. Roosters pull out. Now we have the St George players reportedly throwing their two cents in about Farah coming to the club.
Now if it was reported that Farah did the same when we were negotiating a contract with a new player - he would be torn to shreds.

He didn't say that.
Why do you have to lie to make a point?
Trying to portray Farah as a victim. Your post is pathetic & your point is BS.. Players just can't up & walk

I laught when people lie… They think they're the only one that read any articles on the topic

I am not lying about anything and you are out of line accusing me of doing so. It was reported on the Triple mmm sports round up, So if it would make you happier I could have said that I heard it reported on Triple MMM is that true Innsaneink?
Stop acting so superior.

I'd be happy if you stick to facts

According to a SMH article on 29 August, Taylor confirmed to Ayoub that Farah's deal would be paid out. Here it is below

"Taylor said the club needed to move forward, and Ayoub said they needed to pay out Farah's deal. Taylor said that would happen".

And further, the SMH reports

"None of that will worry Taylor. He has told Farah the money will be forthcoming. He just wants Farah out of the club".

Just over a week ago Ayoub did ask for a full payout of Farah's contract somewhere various papers are reporting at $2.1 or more.

Why hasn't Taylor arranged for the contract to be paid out in full to avoid all the damage to the club? According to the SMH, Taylor advised that it would happen. Taylor apologists and Farah detractors on this forum were up in arms that Farah could believe is entitled to a payout. Yet it was confirmed by their idol that the payout would happen. Was this unauthorised?

Ayoub and Farah wanted a full payout and release
Taylor didn't agree to that.

Danny Weidler has more comment in today's Sun Herald

iger tales
There have been denials from the Wests Tigers that they were again interested in keeping Robbie Farah, but this column is aware of discussions by the club that even considered a "fitting farewell" for Farah.
And by that we don't mean telling him he will play reserve grade or have to fight Matt Ballin for a place in the side. It's hard not to think that if the club had any real interest in keeping Farah they would start by apologising publicly to him.
They could explain why they wanted to roll him and the difficulties they will have going forward with the salary cap and keeping players and then just get on with making the next 12 months work. CEO Justin Pascoe can't be expected to wear the blame for the situation, but those who empowered Jason Taylor to pull the trigger on the Farah deal have questions to answer.
There were stories spun that Farah wasn't liked by the players and that he'd be easy to replace – but both of those things were wrong.

True Tiger, the Taylor/Farah controversy is our Xmas pressie - it just keeps on giving

Weidler is correct, who empowered Taylor to act on the club's behalf and in doing so, seriously damage the club's brand. We want accountability, Taylor and a few others need to be held to account.

None of that has ever been denied by the club or Taylor . If it wasn't accurate, you can bet it would have been very quickly.
