Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

As for your comment about appointing Taylor

Well they had a few other options , personally I would of kept Potter with a one year option giving him complete control and see what happened

But the others were Brown ,Griffin and Taylor

Griffin was involved with the CQ Capras , sacked a coach (Jason Hetherington ) and then convinced him to say he had resigned because his wife had breast cancer and then couldn't organize a full squad for a mid season game v the PNG Hunters and they had to recruit local PNG players for one game contracts Before you ask me how I know this stuff , I'd known Jason before he made grade at the GC many years ago when he played for the Ipswich Jets and the other PNG was reported on Grandstand while we were driving back from Townsville

The stuff on Brown is hearsay , but he supposedly came in hard about stripping the captaincy off Farah and other issues and the board didn't like that at the time

They have to hire the best applicant , whether he is everyone's cup of tea or not doesn't matter

I keep hearing how they deferred payments , but I only ever hear it from them ….

Then it comes down to whether you believe what they say

And seeing how they have behaved , I will wait until I hear it as fact from the club

Marshall advised he agreed to $80,000 and Farah to his amount. So are saying these two players are not telling the truth? It's a yes or no answer Happy Tigers so come out with it.

But that's only their word for it mate

Unless they come out with actual factual info , I don't trust them They've been proven in the past that their wheelbarrow's that they push is far more important than anyone elses

Marshall said Farah deserved to be treated better and expected him to dig his heels in and fight for his spot next season.

“We both (took pay cuts). In 2012 the club came to us and said they were going to be ‘X’ amount over the cap,” Marshall said. “In 2012 I think I took an $80,000 pay cut and Robbie took a $200,000 pay cut for two years in a row.

“When I agreed to a five-year deal after that year, that was going to be back-ended and added onto my contract. The same thing happened with Robbie.

“Everyone looks at (Farah’s) price tag and sees $950,000 and says, ‘Well he’s not worth 950.’ Well it’s really 750 and the 200 he took off three or four years ago to keep the club afloat.

“That’s how much the club means to the bloke and that’s how much it meant to me. We were willing to give up our money to keep the club under the cap.”

That's again just what they have said , I don't see a black and white contract ….

Why what until you are leaving to bring it up ?? Strange don't you think ??

use your bloody brains....players cannot just walk, god we have some desperates here

Whether the report was wrong is one thing, and that may or may not be true but Paws showed where his info came from and as far as I can see Has NOT lied, and didn't deserve the Comment that he did.
And on your comment that players can't just walk. Does the names Taupau, Austin, Blair,
SBW mean anything to you ?

It was me he accused GCT -dont like being called a liar, but not fazed over his reactionary comments. I didnt lie and anyone who listened to TripleMMM that morning heard it too.

Happy why is it that you cast doubt on anything that is quoted in newspapers , plus
Anywhere else, when it suits you?
But still expect to be believed in everything that you say.
I don't doubt what you say is what you believe to be the truth, but the facts may or may not be .most things said here are in the same basket
Now it seems that Grandstand is the only source that we can believe., or so it seems.
Probably When they criticise the club , they'll be back on the blacklist,

You hear what you want to hear.

He basically said…..
Probably.....

If you cant tell that this is then I have some magic dirt to sell to you....and GCT, being released and walking are two different things...yet you believe what you want to believe.....you know, truth and good stories and it all getting in the way

Seriously, some of you are so bloody gullible

Another one who can't bring himself to say he was wrong,

They were released because they told their clubs that they Didn't want to be there,

Exactly what the report about Friend said he'd do.
Can't be clearer than that. If you don't understand that, I'm not really surprised

Its fair enough that everyone has their own opinions on Taylor, people probably think Im a mad Taylor fanboy myself, though I dont think everyone is on the same page as to why he was bought in, and the type of coach he is. Coaches arent coaches….

Taylor is our Brian Smith... plain and simple. We arent a successful club, repeating the same formula year after year and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. Our long standing culture of porous defence is deeply rooted and will take time to completely over-haul.

calling for the current admin and coaches to be accountable, yet burdening them with the sins of the past is unfair. The upheaval we are going through is an episode in accountability itself, blind freddy could tell that the direction we had been taking for so many years was an abject failure, and that a new direction was necessary.

Im not all that excited about how Taylor nor the Board has gone about some things, though I give them the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to turn things around. Change is never easy, though we all should be unanimous is agreeing that we havent been good enough for too long now, the same core squad have flopped under 3 coaches in succession. Breaking that down, our squad is the constant.

There is one major flaw in that whole Benji Marshall claim Paws…

In 2009 Farah signed a 4 year extension worth around $400,000 per year covering the years 2010 to 2013, if Farah took a pay cut for 2012 and 2013 for the salary cap, the original contract would have to be terminated and a new contract at the reduced amount signed and registered with the NRL.

It is very doubtful the NRL would accept and register a new deal at the reduced amount of supposedly just $200,000 per year under the figures mentioned by Marshall, well it’s not doubtful, the NRL certainly would not have registered it.

Well guys I have come to the conclusion that this Farah debacle will be sorted out by the WTs,Ayuob,Farah and Taylor..one way or the other,no matter the result,I'm going to get stuck into my XMAS shopping and festivities…Just as long as there is a WESTS Tigers Team and Club left to support next season, then to hell with who is at fault or should be going..eventually decisions are made wether we agree with them or not..ALL of us and that includes me,aren't going to make one ounce of difference to the outcome, but on the way we are going to lose Forum friends through pointless arguments about who is right and who is wrong....while we are busy posting our opinion or being sarcastic with our replys,we should really spare a thought for the people that don't have the capacity to have an opinion, such as the disabled or very sick..XMAS is a time of Peace Love and Hope..my family and friends are so much more important...I'm sure the people mentioned in my post will still enjoy XMAS,irrespective of the final result,it's the business that their in,other people haven't been dealt the same cards in life to be able to bicker and argue over the mighty dollar..my thoughts and prayers will go out to the less fortunate in life who are battling to make a living and feed and entertain their families at Xmas..also spare a thought for those who have lost loved ones....I really don't care if people want to critise my post,it's just that I have my feet planted firmly on the ground and that there are far more important things in life other than losing friends and arguing pointlessly, over and over again and not getting a solution to a problem that realistically we have no input to other than constant arguements amongst ourselves....Merry Xmas to all ...God bless...

Refer to above post guys and simmer down…I don't acuse anyone of anything, but this whole thread is making some of you fantastic forumers turn on each other..people being called liars etc...I doubt if anybody actually knows the real facts and statements that have or haven't been said..,we are talking about Honest Ayoub here you know..didn't tell his client early enough to find another club and told the WTs not to say anything to him ...this is the root problem that has caused most of this mess....

Add to that Robbie isn't worth 750 k either

I don't know if any at the club are worth 750 k , maybe Tedesco , possibly Woods ??

This to me is a pretty key point. I'm really worried we have signed Woods on this sort of dollars as well and he is definitely not worth it. Farah isn't worth that either.

Tedesco probably is worth that sort of money.

No GCT big difference

I have proof of the facts about Griffin and the PNG Hunters game

The only bloke to score for the Capras in the 68-4 flogging to the Hunters was one of the players they bought in PNG

Check it up if you like

I'm not doubting the newspapers GCT

I'm casting doubt on what Farah and Benji were saying about taking pay cuts

I couldn't give a bugger about what happened in a Capra game. But find it very unusual that the news about Marshall and Farah deferring payments, has been around for a long while and mentioned here On many occasions, but you've waited till now to come up with this.

There hasn't been any journalists. TV station, or Radio station that has disputed the facts about it before. Both players involved have confirmed it, the club hasn't contested those facts, and there has been comments from Go And Taylor blaming back ended contracts being the biggest problem for the club
But you know better
Ok, have it your way
