LIVE GAME Round 9 vs Panthers

Live Game Discussion
sensational effort. it was ugly, it was scary, but it doesn’t matter how you get em and god we needed that.

our forward pack is elite. Klem’s motor is incredible. Stefano is bending the line practically every run. Twal has gone to another level. Ice tackles everything and carts the ball up. Bateman is a brilliant point of difference. Pole’s late footwork and agility is sensational. and to tie it all together we’ve got the best hooker in the league who’s application and passion is something we’ve missed for sometime.

as a result of the forward pack’s work, our much maligned halfback kicked so well that I thought he’d switched bodies with his opposite. there’s still plenty left to do for him, but that was a very promising 80 minutes. consistency is key. Wakeham has some work to do.

Jahream Bula. wow. that was his SECOND game of first grade. in the wet against the premiers no less. he just exudes class. we have a very special player on our hands.

credit to Sheens where it is due for the way he’s developed our outside backs. To’a was exceptional last night. Tupou was solid, but games like that are crucial to his development. Naden needs to rein it in, but the talent is there. David Nofoaluma played like we all know he can.

I don’t ask for much. I just ask for effort and application. we got that from all 17 players last night. may this run continue. I’m so proud of the boys.

My mum is nearly 80. She doesn’t attend games anymore as she is getting frail. She watches every game all decked out in her Tigers gear. She actually had some tears of pride at full time. Thats what our nut job club does to us. We are a basket case but it’s our basket case and moments like last night reminds us why I and you guys are so passionate about our basket case. To everyone on this forum enjoy today. We have earned the right to feel good about being a Tiger. So proud of that effort.
Awww I am getting teary thinking about your mum being so proud, lost my mum last year & she would have been the same. Give that lovely lady a hug for me. ❤️

The day after it has sunk in a bit & after forgetting how to win for 273 days now I know what winning feels like
This morning I was like the toyota oh what a feeling ad 😂
Lets keep up this winning feeling & forget what losing feels like

It’s nice having a coffee the morning after a wests game reading the articles and them not starting with “shambolic, atrocious, toothless, brooks shit”

Does anyone know if there was a full moon out last night? With all the rain in NSW, I couldn't tell. Cause there was something very strange that I haven't been used to with this team. The ball bouncing our way, only 2 mistakes (seriously, let that 1 sink in!), winning a challenge early, 2 40/20's! I'm not a religious person, but the footy gods were in our favour last night.
The footy gods may have been in our favour last night but the ref sure wasn’t and yet the boys dug deep and won. It felt like a dream.
I forgot how good a win feels.

Only game I don't get to watch and suffer through all year and we win. Tried not to hear the news but of course, idiot mates told me.
Glad to see we won. Will watch later with a cleansing ale.
I could watch it all day on loop.
We may need to do a forum poll on whether or not you are allowed to watch any more games live. 🤣
Enjoy the replay ❤️

Any one notice api was only stranded alone twice last night .once at dummy half and the break he made .which was good .both halves need to be there as the link man or bula .
Would love for bula to watch a few tapes of Tommy turbo .he could develop a similar style

Was a fantastic tackle, even though he most likely knew the momentum would still carry him across the line. Other fullbacks we've had would have made a half arsed attempt, but Bula put his body on the line just on the off chance he stops him. Nofo's tackle as critical as i and many others have been of him is in the same vain, there seems despite the results a belief in the camp and a togetherness we haven't really had for a long time.
Bula’s tackle had a lucky outcome. 9/10 times Cleary holds onto that and scores.
Nofo’s tackle physically caused the attacker to fail scoring a certain try. It was infinitely better and isn’t getting the praise it deserves. Dave looked like he cared deeply about winning last night and showed he still wants to be a first grader at this club.

I agree Bula's tackle had a lucky outcome, my point being is he put himself in the position to create that luck. As i said other fullbacks we've had recently wouldnt have made that kind of effort, and to be honest it should be what you should expect from your fullback.
Nofo's tackle was outstanding obviously he caused a drop and bundled him into touch in one movement, its good to see Nofo finally seeming to give a crap.
With Bula you can see he's far from the polished article i dont like them throwing the superstar tag at him after 2 games, the last player that happened to with us was Brooks so i hope we temper that excitement, he will make silly mistakes and may not always be in the right position but it will come with time fingers crossed.

Last night emphasised the importance of a what a player like Api in our team brings. As good as brooks was and with all the good plays he did, I don’t think we win without him.

It also emphasised the need to enable such a performance, namely by using the bench hooker properly to allow both a higher level of play, rather than a wasted cameo in the dying minutes when a game is almost surely already lost.

The best thing to me about the win was the performance of 2 guys under pressure
Brooks 2 40/20s line breaks try assists repeat sets . I have been one who has been critical although have pointed out last few weeks he was far from our worst on ground .Well Brooksy congratulations and welcome back
Nofoaloma has copped more harsh comments than virtually every other player in the entire competition . I was almost worn out trying to defend him . I believed that the Wests Tigers player of the year in 2020 doesn't suddenly forget how to play football .
Anyway good game welcome back

I would like the NRL to explain why Naden is facing 3 weeks when replays show he DID NOT make contact with the head ? Braith and Corey on the fox footy panel said he didn't make contact with the head and don't understand the 3 weeks . Annessley will dribble on with nonsense to explain it no doubt

If he catches the ball on the full then he already is better than Laurie.

Not a superstar. Just glad there's another position we don't have to worry about. Get a couple more and we will win more games then we lose.
