Rule Changes You'd Like Implemented

Mentioning the competitive ruck in the golden era brought flashbacks...ref had more responsiblity because no technology. Refs were in there yelling at 'em and not coping shit and the phuck up got penalised. It was apart of 'setting the platform' the ref marked his territory.

Im getting so sick of going to the video and in the replay seeing a chicken fed fairy on the sideline staring at a boot, on the line, then saying go get chicken. Dont start me on all the other shit that I see.

As for rule changes im sorry but everyone has almost lost it 🙂 Having said that draft sounds ok, never understood it and stopping the clock is something my mate and i almost get hernia about. Why is the clock still going when the balls not in play? Who is keeping time anyway, does anyone know? Hope it not bunker.

I rekon the ref needs less chicken.

There’s a lot of odd chicken references. Not sure what it all means, but now I have a sudden craving for some KFC

Too many to change or revert

*1 on 1 steals banned
*Seemingly any ball dropped is an automatic knock on, lazy refs
*Third party deals
*Captains challenge after fulltime
*Go back to scrums when a team was caught in possession after six tackles or kicked out on the full or make it a handover when a teams knocks on mid set, either scrum or dont scrum.
*Bring back striking at the ball
*Bring back playing the ball forward for lazy markers
*Bring back the shoulder charge or go play netball

Scrums. I'm not advocating for a rule change here, simply fix the "interpretations". Some of them are a joke.

The rules are very clear, loose arms binding, ball in the middle etc, halfback must retire.

I know they went away from the strict interpretation of the rules to stop the mountain of penalties; however, it has gone too far. I get they want fast flowing footy for TV but the pendulum has swung too far. If you want to really have open paly off the pack of the scrum - make them put their heads in there and bind. Make the half retire to the back of the scrum after the feed.

I'm not sure why one team doesn't think out of the box and put an almighty shove on when the ball comes in to destabilise the oppositions set play - the rules allow it. Must be some bullshit "interpretation".

Sure in the 70's and 80's the boys is white took it too far the other way with their interpretation of the rules. The over technical approach rugby union has taken is also too far. I'm sure that they could set up a working group to develop a new set of rules that takes the scrum from being a joke and a blight on the game and transform it into a great part of the game.

The number of scrums has already been limited so how about once again making it a competition but having rules that enable it.

Even today the interpretations could be exploited. I would love to see the ball come to the back of the scrum and the "lock" pick it up and go straight through the centre - almost guaranteed to score. Burrowing through the scrum is still in the rules and they pack so loose and break so quickly you could make it form the 20m line. Simply stack one side and shape to bring the fullback into the line with bodies in motion and crack em wide open. Would be a great spectacle!
Opposition teams aren't allowed to contest scrums that we feed.

By interpretation - not by the rules. That is the issue; the rules are pretty clear but the NRL "interpretation" isn't.

From the international rules of the game.

Pushing
4. It is permissible for forwards to push once the scrum has been correctly formed but if it moves an appreciable distance to the disadvantage of any one team before the ball is put in then the Referee
shall order the scrum to reform in its original position.

I bet the nrl, in conjuction w the tigers board, spear headed by head barrista hangurpantis (for all to see) and geo (goose executive officer - new position soon to be announced) will conclude that scrums will be replaced by either line outs and/or bounce. They disregarded the two hookers rucking for the ball dropped by the ref like u6 soccer because they thought it was silly.

Im convinced now 7 tackles and ringing that phuckn bell have gotta go. If you mis place an attempt to get the ball in goal you shouldnt be punished. If you disobey the rules u get penalised. A penalty is a penalty and most bell rings are dubious because of the nature of the rule.

Injuries have gone thru the roof and i rekon its because players are forced to play and make decisions under increase fatigue.

Yeah, and stop players from wanting the pronunciation of their names changed to something completely different after they had no problem having it pronounced a particular way for the last 5 years.
I liked when they called numbers instead of names...when did they start doing this, or am I that old. To me it doesnt sound right hearing them chatting like theyre at the pub. Probably end up w more game time too.

Go back to 16 teams.
We all know which club needs to get punted
Manly? Supporters dont want to pay the toll crossing the bridge cause they drink macchiatos.

I know its sensitive issue but i rekon forget western australia and keep it all on the east coast. Have north south battles, not east west.

That means we need a few more teams and hopefully eases the pressure on pulling wt apart. It also implies 'conferences' where the cream settles at the top for awesome end of year battles.

If we don't go west, I'd go Central Coast.
The Tiger Bear sounds like an animal that can at least chase you for 80 mins

Better a bird and a tiger.

The tiger represents defence. Forwards mark their territory, preferably the half way line and repell everything that doesnt smell right.

The birds are intelligent and visionary. They keep their eyes peeled for opportunity and guide the team around based on what they see. When it comes we flock to the try line. Thats what the bombs about, bring out the birds 🙂

The spine needs bit more bird atm, particulary brooks, not so much api, dont start me on adam the dear. Fullback almost all bird but summons the tiger when last line defence is requird. Same for wingers.

Bears and tigers potentially eat each other and theres been too much of that.

Reduce the 10 metre rule. Not sure what to. Back to 5 metres would be too drastic, but I'd like to see the game tighten up a little. I also believe this would help a lot with concussions.

Don't expect a lot of support on this suggestion

The purpose of it was to open up the game, the bell and 7 tackles same purpose. Has the game been opened up too much?

I reckon keep the bell and 7 tackles if it goes back to 5m but if it stays 10m get ride of the bell and 7 tackles.

I recon definitely worth thoughts because of the increased injury rate.
