Rumour:Ava to the Sharks

I had a massive wrap on Ava, really liked him last year but this year he has been very poor. Provides nothing off the bench anymore.

Moving him on would probably mean we have made a replacement signing.

I pray it is Pauli Pauli. He would be huge for us off the bench.

Tony I agree with you on that..When Ava burst(literally) on the scene in 2013 he should a ton of promise; in 2014 he stepped up to a new level setting up high expectations for 2015\. IMO he has not kicked-on in 2015 and would not be a huge loss if he moved on…he is probably in the class of a Nathan Brown/Matt Groat ability....what is the buzz word...Plodder

Who re-sidned all these guys? Ave, brown, Santi, lovette, bucanan, so on and so on.. if Its who I suspect it is he did a poor job at recruitment bar Tapau which I didn't realize at the time. Sure CEO had a hand in it too..

Let him go. I'd rather have cap space.

You reckon Ava occupies a lot of cap space? There's players close to 10 years his senior on virtually 10 times his wage performing at a lesser standard.

I'm pretty sure he signed an extension and that might have been for a little bit. Obviously he's not a main concern in terms of cap space when there's around 6 senior players earning way too much, but Ava isn't innocent here.

If he leaves and we end up with Buchanan playing first grade the rest of the year, we'll be worse off IMO

That's a bit harsh, Buchanan was one of the first picked a few years ago as we had no depth and he turned up every week and played big minutes.

He's only young, props generally develop later on, but all the Bucky hate is ridiculous.

Throwing this one out there - anyone think Gal is a possibility? We were close to signing him when he had those issues with the sharkies.

Not interested in Gal.
He's so close to retirement.

What if Galloway moves on Demps? We will have the most inexperienced pack in the game, we are forgetting Woods is only 23 and needs someone to help him eat meters. Woods and Gallen starting front row would be great.

I dont think it is so much as letting him go, as him receiving a better offer.
Players like Ava a dime a dozen, I reckon they see the likes of JJ Felise and Dallas Graham will become the depth front rowers.

One thing about Gallen is that gives 100%. Also we would have no problem with leadership as we would have the two NSW captains in our side.

Seumanufagai shall be offered 2 yrs extension, so I hope this rumor is not true.
If true it would be another brainless decision like Fafita, Koroibete, Naiyarovaro, Austin :frowning:
Unfortunately, no one wants Lawrence and Moltzen even if we pay them to leave :frowning:

If loosing big Ava freed some cash to by two backrowers of real quality than I would have no worries, but if it was like this year and just a call to get the books looking a little better, than forget it. We keep hearing that players need 50 to 100 NRL games before they can cut the mustard, so than we let them walk when they start approaching that level and have to start again on another so called "potential" player.

Agree, would be a great mentor for our Forward Pack. I would certainly be keen on Gal, but only at the right price as he is fairly injury prone in his older age. Could take Lock (Taupau to FR) or straight to Front Row. He would instill the 'never say die' attitude we so desperately need.

It's possible that Ava + $x might be a swap for Gal?

Might explain why his resigning at the sharks hasn't been announced yet.
