RLW reporting Cherrington is a done deal to Penrith, with Penrith to make a huge bid for Tamou and another for Greg Bird, how can they afford these huge bids they are making, we are so far off the pace it is not funny.
Say's Cherrington was not happy stuck behind Farah and Ballin, and Penrith was probably the only club who could match the cowboys offer for Tamou, and Bird wouldn't be offered an extension on the gold coast.
I hope Penrith do get Bird and Tamou because it'll leave them open to a raid on some of their current talent.
The Panthers are as over-active in the player market as we are under-active. They just have a lash at any talent on the market without really thinking about what they really need.
Totally agree, with such strong juniors, they seem to pick up lots of random players. Actually a surprising number of players went to Penrith and never played NRL again.
A few names:
Sika Manu - was good at Melbourne, gradually disappeared
BMM - still playing reggies?
Sitaleki - same as BMM
Api Koroisau - 1 year before moving to Manly
Lewis Brown - also gone after 1 contract
Idris - nuff said, has retired or close enough
Brent Kite - 25 games in 2 years, retired
Elijah Taylor - 39 games in 3 years
Isaac John - 26 games in 3 years, hasn't played NRL since
Keirran Moseley - 1 game, went to Titans
Cameron Ciraldo - 33 games in his final 2 years of NRL
Tom Humble - 6 games in his last year NRL
Mose Masoe - 17 games in his last year of NRL
James Roberts (at the time) - 6 games in 1 season
Chris Armpit - 11 games in his final NRL season
Mitch Achurch - 11 games in his only NRL year
Shandorrr Earl - 16 games in 3 years
Danny G - 14 games on his second stint and final year of NRL
Clint Newton
Shane Shackleton - 4 agmes in his last year of NRL
Yileen Gordon - 3 games in 1 year, his last year of NRL
Adrian Purtell
and everyone's favourite ratbag Arana Tomatoes
Maybe though, if you were to go through the Tigers, it'd be much the same?
