Daniel Anderson for mine. 3 finals series in 10 seasons isn't setting the bar too high for your successor

How many premierships GNR ??

Maybe he could get Debbie Spillane as his assistant coach as well

He's coached two teams from impossible positions to GF's Happy, a pretty impressive feat in itself

2005 didn't pass as impossible position GNR

We were 150-1 after the Broncos loss

150-1 shots don't win titles too often

Yeah i would like to see a change in coach.

It is not possible for sheens, nor any coach,to continue to give his players a fresh message. In any management structure, you need fresh motivating ideas.

Perhaps Sheens has squeezed the orange dry.

Warren Ryan recognised it,will sheens?

Having said that, many posters on this forum,as well as myself, saw Steve Kearney as a possible coach in waiting .
**of course, his results have been disappointing.**

So is it the devil you know,or the one you don't know.

its a tough one.

**With the players he has.
Doesnt mean his results would be the same with our players.**
Of course, we'll never know

That was 7 yrs ago Happy. Since 05 we should have achieved a hell of a lot more then we have given our squad

I've said it before and I will say it again GNR The reality is the worse thing to happen for the players in particular was to win the premiership in 2005

I would of preferred to see us lose a close one to the Dragons The players would of stayed hungry and wanted to achieve more

To achieve the ultimate in your first two or three seasons isn't always great

They would of appreciated more if they had won in 2007 (for example ) as they would not of taken it for granted

I don't think so happy.

Look at the Eels. They coasted through 2001 with a young squad, set attacking records that I doubt will ever be broken with a very young side. Lost the Grand Final.

…and then disappeared. That squad was the future, and it totally collapsed after that loss. I disagree that losing a premiership would be better to winning one, and that winning one was terrible for the players. Long term performances depend on so many different factors that I don't think winning or losing a grand final is significant.

Teams can't stay together like they used to. With salary cap pressures, other clubs throwing massive $ at younger players etc. also with the amount of video footage, coaches and players have access to these days it is VERY difficult to put together week to week victories let alone grand finals.

Coached by Brian Smith

Enough said really .

Ridiculous statement with no basis….utterly ridiculous

Happy, you're saying that the 05 premiership was a negative in the sense that they were young and therefore lost the hunger for continued to success, but whose responsibility is it to keep them motivated and hungry? Sounds like you're saying Sheens doesn't have that responsibility. 3 finals appearences out of 10 seasons doesn't make for great reading no matter which way you look at it

Name a better quality coach out there available to replace Sheens.

This is the issue isn't it. I don't see a better option.

Bennett & Bellamy were the two that some pro sheens ppl would accept.
Not many calling for bennett now though

It depends on how ppl define a coach.

To me most here gauge the coach on his teams results…however theyre looking at results with other players/clubs/teams....they need to think how coach A would/could/might perform here.

Craig Bellamy 68%
Des Hasler 59%
Bennett 64%
Maguire 75%
Anthony Griffin 73%
Brian Smith 53%
Tim Sheens 50%
John Cartwright 49%
Ivan Cleary 48%

Time for a change!
Been time for a while

Well there's only be 3 NRL premiership winning coaches since 2005 and none of them are available.

They ALL began with none.
We dont need a coach thats won comps with other teams, we need a coach that can improve us where we need improvement, consistency - consistency in defence, and mentally.

The thing is, I reckon with all the baggage this club has with the in-laws, no coaches would touch us with a barge pole

Well I don't see the club paying overs to get a high performing NRL coach so anyone is going to be a risk. Not saying it can't work but it might be a step backwards. Everyone thought Terry Lamb was going to be a success.
