Like others though, seeing a much thicker version if him on his top grade debut, it was a different story, immediately thinking that this fella looks the goods and the ensuing weeks have certainly confirmed that he belongs there.

Perfect bench forward
You are wrong Josh - he is going to be a lot more than a bench forward.
I think he is going to be (without going overboard and maybe not as good) another Finucane type lock.
Hits hard and often, knows where he is on the field and what is going on, and being a former centre has a good passing game.
Just needs to work on hit ups and keeping the legs pumping, not bad at the moment but he is only 22, will improve immensely.
The sky is the limit for him
Scary he’s only getting 30 odd minutes a game aswell

Harry had no real NRL experience coming out of a very strong system, under Madge he is thriving..
Sam was only ever considered a CC player ...how good is he going to be if he continues with us under Madge...
Im only mentioning these 2 young guns for this discussion because Madge copped a fair bit about losing the dressing room, being a hard taskmaster and most of the players couldnt handle his coaching regime..
Its obvious to me that a lot of the squad are bennefitting greatly from Madge and the last 2 games have seen a marked improvement in the teams resilience ...

One thing I noticed about his hit ups is he has good footwork. He tries to find the space between the defenders instead of mindlessly bashing into an opponent's chest.

Not all. He could always find space with the ball and his tackling technique outstanding. If his junior coach is available can we arrange for him to teach some of our other forwards how to tackle?

It was his dad that taught Sam how to tackle and his grandfather taught his dad the technique!
What I like most about his defence is he always competes and won’t stop till he gets them on there back.
He also has plenty of running meters in him just doesn’t get enough ball, any body notice how many decoy and supports he does?
