Shawn Blore #235

Reminds me of how people said it was a cliche that Maguire would make players fitter. Luciano says hello. . .

He was playing nearly 80 minutes at the back end of last season

I’d probably go to work shirtless everyday if I looked like that.

He's obviously in good nick but I'd look ace too if I was literally paid to work out. Not impressed by a ripped professional athlete. In fact I'm more impressed by the guys like George Rose and Piggy Riddell who can train at elite level and still be chubby.

But I'm paid to sit at a computer, hence why I get a little bit fatter every season.

I'm in the same boat Mate, but being retired I don't get paid now.

We now know he can defend but can he add anything to our attack is the next question?

We’ll soon find out. It’s highly unlikely we’ll have to defend as much as we did in the 2nd half on Thursday again this season..well I hope anyway

Parra had 12 more sets than us I believe, so I don’t think his attacking game was going to be unleashed

We definitely need some help with attacking forwards

Also pretty sure that Lucy dropped those excess 5 or 6 kgs when he fell ill early in the year and then kept them off when he started training again. If I recall correctly, someone on here was at the QLD training session where he returned and was well behind the others at the time.

Wouldn't mind seeing Lucy play less minutes this week with Blore there for a stint, as whilst I am more than happy with his 80 minute performance at 90% to see it out, I would like to mix it up a bit and see him at 100% for an hour or so on occasions.

Blore anytime try scorer, he'll go over the stripe this week

Be nice , but I'll take 100 metres in attack and 25 tackles with no misses in defence

Who do you think would be the worst rig to play in the modern NRL? Mark Riddell is a good start, Tui Lolohea would be pretty high on the list.

Cameron Smith

Surely you jest.

Hi chaps, regards Shawn Blore, please remember that this is a 19 year old kid who has played just one game in the NRL, lets not bury the bloke under the weight of our expectations and let him mature under Madge's guidance.

Never understood why people won’t give Madge and the coaching staff credit for getting Luciano fit. He’s clearly lost weight, improved his diet and fixed his defence since being at Tigers and he’s said as much in interviews. He’s a completely different player

Am I the only one not getting carried away with Blore? No doubt he has potential to be a star, however he's still only played one NRL game. Calls for him to be made a future captain and locking him up for a further few years seem a bit premature, especially after he has come off 18 months of injuries.

Everything in moderation.

I recall Luke Brooks having a standout debut and now a faction of fans want to get rid of him.

Exactly. A strong debut is one thing, consistency is another. Let's give him time to settle in. He could go down the same path of Woods, Aloiai or Twal or become another Lovett, Groat, or Buchanan.

Did you watch Blore play? He was better in those 46 minutes than Lovett, Groat or Buchanan ever were for us.

Appreciate members want to give it more time, but I've seen enough to extend him before Nov.

Not being a smarty, but a few on here were positively orgasmic after Groat's debut. (But yes, I'd give him at least another 2 years).

Surely you jest.

No, he's very unathletic for an elite footballer. Good luck to him, doesn't change his standing in the game.

I just threw up in my mouth a bit..

I heard billy Walters in a podcast say Smith was probably the weakest guy in the gym, but somehow on the field always managed to wriggle out of tackles and put down guys twice his size. He’s got that dad strength 😂

A picture can be misleading.
You don’t need bludging muscles to be strong.
I would say for certain that of all players he would have the strongest core muscles.

I agree but to many here he was already doing that at the Dragons last season which I do not agree with .
