I really struggle to understand the anti-sheens mindset, it just seems like people have really short memories.
Sheens took control of this team when not only did we not have finals success, we had hardly any success at all. He took total control of the team and built a premiership side out of nothing. Yes since then we have struggled but I would like to see the person who can honestly say after 2005 they didn't expect gibbs, fulton, collis, harrison and co to turn into superstars, remember steve noyce's "next man united speech". In addition to that how could he forcast that our representative halfback was going to get dragged to the gold coast by his wife or that our future star was going to have broken shoulders every second week. Everyone says sheens should be hung out to dry becuase of his recruitment but never seems to take into account that we invested in the players that delivered us a premiership, players that I like everyone else firmly believed were going to take us into the future.
Futhermore everyone that is singing the praises of Steve Folkes although I am over the moon to have him at our club, he won 17 out of his last 33 in his last head coaching position and I wouldn't call the bulldogs teams of 07,08 fine examples of recruitment.
Yes Sheens needs the 8 this year but I think those who are death riding him should remember he is the guy that won the only merger premiership out of team that couldn't even touch a 50-50 record. We could always bring back wayne pearce and terry lamb if you really want .
Also this is my first post but I have been reading for a long time and I just wanted to say thanks for all the info, inside words and opinions, i really do enjoy feeling as though im almost in the loop
