Should/Will RF get his Leichhardt farewell given we are out of contention?

@Knuckles said:
Why didn't Taylor just say that from the start …. That Farah will never play fg again .... Rather than getting some of the fans hopes up and disappointing them .... Maybe didn't have the courage.

Taylor tried to. Don't you remember the stink Robbie put up? He wanted Farah out from day one but we were bound to him with the huge contract and had to play nice.
Taylor hasn't had the team he wanted and deserves 2017 with at least 80% of the cap at his disposal.

Pretty sure considering the feelings of fans is not a prerequisite to determining your team selections…

Taylor has made plenty of unpopular calls in his time at the Tigers, courage is not something he is lacking...

Unfortunately robbie is gone. Is deciding between sharks or souths. Should have a decision by late this week or early next week.

Jason taylor…what a moron of a coach! Playing players out of position and being a detriment to the team just so he doesnt choose farah. What a vindictive weak human

wonder what cherry might think about robbie going to the sharks

Here's a likely scenario:

1) Farah signs with new club next week
2) ET re-signs with WT shortly after
3) Tigers are 100% out of Finals contention going into RD 26
4) with #3 and the last game of the year at LO Farah gets his send off he wants… All is sweet heading into 2017
\
\
Just a real shame we aren't playing the Dragqueens at LO in Rd 26... a Bunj and Farah farewell game would pack the joint out... Of course the WT would win with 80 min try of a Farah grubber which Bunji fumbles and Halatau scores a try....

Lets not forget this whole thing started with the club trying to force farahs hand by dropping him so they could retain ET. So while Farah has been no saint in this debacle, the club hasnt been that far behind.

No, it started halfway through last season when Farah was told he was free to negotiate with other clubs.

That's right Farah was told to move on last year but instead of doing the right thing Farah thought it would only be a matter of time before the coach was moved on again and dug his heals in.

Unfortunately for Farah and Ayoub their lets rubbish the club in the media ploy didn't work this time.
Sorry Robbie you don't deserve any sort of send off, you better just rest up and take care with that "virus"

Lets see if we can keep it to 1 or 2 word answers without spite (wishful thinking)

Just answer the questions

Should he got a Leichhardt Farewell? - Yes, without question for mine

Will he get a Leichhardt Farewell? - I hope so but I don't know

Free Beer at Balmain Leagues for those closest to the pin.

YES…Absolutely he should imo.
He won't. JT will be against it I'm sure. :frowning:
Mary is doing the right thing with Benji, letting him play the last game of their season so they can farewell a legend of the game. It's a respectful thing to do.

The respectful thing to do is to address whatever issues you have with your club behind closed doors. Robbie only has himself to blame.

This is the kind of sentimental nonsense that ensures that the club will not progress forwards.

This is a professional and competitive environment, If he's not up to it anymore then he shouldn't be playing.

Thanks for the memories and the service, but RF is not the WT and WT are not RF.

Seriously can't believe people are actually thinking like this.

On many occasions I have seen staff leave a company after 25 years good honest service, get a redundancy package and not even get a send off from the company.

They got a redundancy package. That is my dream.

Which do you think Farah would favour - a redundancy package or a Leichhardt farewell?

Why not both…

While he was still contracted, so yes the club started this whole debacle. Thank you for backing my point up.

…..and was told he would be playing reserves if he stayed on.
Farah was absorbing too much of the cap plain and simple and the club has tried everything in the book to move him on.
Yep he referee to club as " they " ....

I agree mate. But you need to temper your blatant dislike of Farah. I hope Robbie moves on and is appreciated wherever he goes.

He deserves a farewell as will Lawrence when his time is up. So sit back and chill.

I'm not the only one whose said no. My dislike for Farah is no more blatant than others dislike for Taylor.

Yep no arguements from me on the Farah and Taylor discussions. The sad thing is the forum now is a cesspool it used to be fun coming on here and reading peoples opinions, now they are vile.

Anyway lets hope things get settled one way or another.

Agree that the forum is not such a fun place anymore… :frowning:

You could argue that by him staying he was calling their bluff. Now he knows they weren't bluffing which might make him finally realize the club is serious this time around. He could be stubborn and dig his heels in, but i don't think he'll want to risk whatever chance he has of retaining his Origin jersey.

Not far enough considering our roster !

 C'mon Hobbs..That is one of your best when it suits…let me see..

Your grandma hits harder than Rowdy..Woods is a plodder who needs a haircut ..Naiqama couldn't tackle a bean bag...Broses over rated hype..Lovett n Edwards reserve Reserve Graders Ballin in training for the Tour De France and my personal fav Rankin is only there cause he washes Taylors Car...

In fact I don't think we have a player you do rate..it's a wonder we've avoided the spoon...

Yes , my nan hits harder than Lawrence , woods is a plodder , Lovett & Edwards are crap and Rankin , if picked this arvo would have moved on from washing Taylor's car to baby sitting his kids!
As for Ballin , a laughable signing at best .

With the rest of the squad we should've made the 8 !
But our crap coach has failed again …
Good to see you've finally come out the closet as a true certified Taylor fan boy
Got to love mediocrity hey !!!!

Geo a JT lover… No way. :astonished:

" The coach and I had a healthy debate" is how Benji phrased it.
Make of it, what you will.

And compare that too:

_“It is hard when you hear stuff being said about you, false stuff, like what was the word that was used? - ‘cohesion in attack’,”\
\
“I have played four games in the last 12 weeks for the Tigers. Three of those have been wins and, in three of those wins, we have scored over 30 points."\
\
“The game that I lost, I got knocked out after 20 minutes. We haven’t scored over 30 points in a game when I haven’t been playing since round two."\
\
“That is the most disappointing thing. I have had the finger of blame pointed at me for the way things have been going. I find that unfair. Our biggest problem is our defence, which is the second worst in the competition."\
\
“Our attack is the least of our problems and I am the least of our problems in attack.”\
\
“I feel I am getting treated differently to some others,”\
\
“I will continue being professional and try and keep my mouth shut and try not to do anything wrong because I think that is what they are trying to get me to do. But I think I am a bit smarter than that.”_

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Taylor has been directed to to do everything he can to get Farah to move on
The trouble for me is the BS that goes with it.
Playing Farah may not have won them any more games but they would have been a better team with him in it.
Can't believe that some bought the cohesion talk and hence going into games without a specialist dh when we were still a chance of making the semis - he was dropped after an excellent performance coming off the bench against Penrith - laughable.
I find it very difficult to listen to Taylor and believe anything he says - and when Farah does go we will no doubt be back to into going into games with at least one specialist dh probably two.
