Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

no mention of galvin for dce
dce replacement is fogarty for 7
galvin replaces brooks at 6

they can have him the way he is playing at the moment …

I’d be very surprised if they told Brooks now that he can look elsewhere …Galvin cant sign with them for another 7 months… a lot csn happen in that time even if they gave Manly a verbal

The ones we are forgetting!

Ok the OP said "forget the signigns... lets just go suggestions and roumers". He has a point, because any signing usually gets it's own thread...

Heck how many Scotches do I have to drink before i forget Mbye! So many forgettable signings.

Anyway lets go roumers. DCE is selling his house. Nathan Cleary's girlfriend makes more then 10x Nathan's salary in britain... Going to guess that Nathan is out of penrith and that they will target DCE with his stupid money. #hearditherefirst

The best bit, Penrith may actually ask for Luai back and we get to laugh in their face!
Nathan becoming a house husband for his lady friend is really a flash crystal glass prediction.Actually dont mind it

Brent Naden is being tipped to be the genuine smokey to play wing for NSW during game 1 of origin. Lomax to miss only one game of origin, but Naden's experience and speed on the wing is much to Daley's liking. Another mentioned by Andrew Johns is Jack Bostock from the Dolphins. Kiraz still the favourite if fit

I can guarantee you Naden is not on anyone’s radar to play origin lol

it is only looking elsewhere for his last year, not that surprising he is still contracted for 26 and 27. Only got told what he got told they certainly want and need him for 26

they probably aren’t that happy with how he is playing … and don’t want to keep paying him $670k a year for two years … they will be paying some freight if they move him on

if you were manly and you can move brooks on a year early for galvin it is a no brainer.
At 670k so they tip in 300k to move him on and that 370k can go towards galvin
If Fogarty knocks them back the they probably change tack and keep him use all that DCE money and go with him and galvin in 27 and use Large in 28

Tom out of curiosity, would you prefer if we signed someone like Toby Sexton who I assume would be easily gettable for around 600-700k per season or pay 800-1000k per season to possibly retain Galvin ?
Galvin is our local junior and it’s impossible to know what his ceiling is as an NRL 5/8, where Sexton is now a very composed dominant NRL halfback with a great kicking game and an expert in creating space for his outside players.

well … I don’t expect Sexton to be available … isn’t he getting extended at the Dogs ? I would probably prefer to keep Galvin … if that’s the choice … I gotta feeling Galvin won’t be staying with us ..so maybe neither will be here

Naden will be selected for Origin from reserves like Dale Shearer? About as likely as Luke Brooks getting a gig.

Naden for Origin?
The concept may have run its race….

Might be premature, but based on his performances over his first five games this season, Starford To'a must be making people second guess our need to sign a quality centre... I'll be the first to admit I have been frustrated with Starfords inconsistency over the last few years, but he has been incredible to start the season. 5 tries in 5 games and put Turuva over for a few. Credit where credit is due.

If he keeps this up there should be no discussion about who we should sign to play right centre...

Both centres going well at present.
