Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sadly even with all their dumb decisions you have highlighted they will be a top four club again maybe as soon as next year. They will just go out and buy key players to fill the gaps. They actually have some really good young players starting to hit their straps.

Can’t stand them and agree the press as usual are ignoring their failings but that will never change
Tedesco will be a huge loss to them when he retires. He runs that backline.

All they have to say is you’re related to Mitch so you have to say that…but they want him to come back on the show so they just giggle and tip toe around the topic.

“Luai has being playing half back all year” yeah and Mitch has been playing 5/8?

A grade goose.
I think you could say it like this
“Luai has being playing football all year” and Mitch has not.
I know which one is primed and ready to play for his state giving everything he’s got, carrying the whole team if he had to.

Where’s he going?
I reckon, especially without the extra rep games, Teddy could go another 4 years he’d be 36. He seems fit and fast this year, and he looks after himself, he could probably go a couple more.
I hope he does, and blocks the path of the next big thing coming through who signs with us.
But yeah I hope Bula can learn some of Teds organisational skills, and his ability to be at the right place at the right time.

Let's re-evaluate how long he had left at the end of this season. He is absolutely playing out of his skin in comparison to the last couple. That's going to take a toll. I think 4 more years at fullback in first grade is almost impossible unless chooks are happy to have him declining. And uncle Nick sure loves his fullbacks

He’s so transparent.

As soon as blocker supported Luai over Moses in origin selection, he was losing it.

He’s a perfect example of supporting nepotism at all costs. The human headline is getting hard to watch.

Pundits should be insightful or entertaining. Elias is neither. He retired over 30 years ago, so he doesn't have the name recognition either. It's bewildering that he still has a media gig.

Yes if the talk that we have signed 2 or 3 players this would have been in the back ground for a few weeks prior to Richo saying we have signed players on the pod cast so maybe 6 or so weeks back , Fafita , Young I doubt , Smith not what we need , I would say these signings will be players just nudging first grade , I don’t expect to see 2 or 3 players from current nrl starting spots , maybe 1 maybe , Richo and Benji know what we need and it’s not a huge amount of gain that will bolster us we are 3/4 there ( May , ? , ? ). That’s my idea
Im expecting this too...wont be any marquee signing, hopefully its TDS and Bula extending (benji let this slip in last weeks presser?)...and maybe another young player from somewhere

Matterson free to leave Parra, who wants him back? 🤣
Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Just look at our starting props & lock in cup & have a look at our 18-22 for NRL... our depth is shocking & I'm sure most people (and Benji) would prefer relying on someone like Ryan Matterson over Tony Sukkar or Kit Laulilii.

Based on pure ability yes. Based on character, hard no.

I feel the same he's a knob head but the team needs depth especially at 2RF where he can fill, can't let emotion get in the way of the team's balance.

Ryan matterson approached benji in the off season to come back, benji said no, so no. Benji wouldnt prefer him it seems.

Until the end of this season, for sure, as WT depth is severely lacking and a little more than half of his 2025 salary has already been paid.

However, I would only consider him further if he has taken up his supposed player option contract for 2026 and Parramatta are then paying for half or so of it.

At those prices he is a steal.

The big question is at this time what clubs have a spare $500-800k to make an offer to Fifita? Not many I would think. I would say we might be one of the ones given that we have not filled our roster.
We also could use some of klemmers and Batemans cash which was put aside to upgrade Galvin

If GC are chipping in 400k for us to take Fifita

Thats 600k over 3 years

Put 600k in this years cap and pay him 400k each for the next 3

Can’t go wrong really and we are running out of time to use our cap space for this year
If we can get Fifita on 600k that is an absolute steal and a deal we must take, if I remember correctly his first gc contract was 1.2m so we would be getting him on almost half price!
