Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Just look at our starting props & lock in cup & have a look at our 18-22 for NRL... our depth is shocking & I'm sure most people (and Benji) would prefer relying on someone like Ryan Matterson over Tony Sukkar or Kit Laulilii.Matterson free to leave Parra, who wants him back? 🤣
Based on pure ability yes. Based on character, hard no.Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Marshall is and was a fan. stranger things have happened and as @WesternSuburbsBoy mentioned, our depth is deplorable.Based on pure ability yes. Based on character, hard no.
I feel the same he's a knob head but the team needs depth especially at 2RF where he can fill, can't let emotion get in the way of the team's balance.Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Ryan matterson approached benji in the off season to come back, benji said no, so no. Benji wouldnt prefer him it seems.Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Yep, I'll always have fond memories of Russel Packer bringing the cutout to WT's end of year celebrations. RM will hardly have a mate when he finally leaves football. Cretin.Let's just stick with the cardboard cut out, much better option.
Until the end of this season, for sure, as WT depth is severely lacking and a little more than half of his 2025 salary has already been paid.Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Nah he will complain about training. No.Another player we should be getting on the phone too... Raymond Faitala-Mariner.
We also could use some of klemmers and Batemans cash which was put aside to upgrade GalvinAt those prices he is a steal.
The big question is at this time what clubs have a spare $500-800k to make an offer to Fifita? Not many I would think. I would say we might be one of the ones given that we have not filled our roster.
If we can get Fifita on 600k that is an absolute steal and a deal we must take, if I remember correctly his first gc contract was 1.2m so we would be getting him on almost half price! If GC are chipping in 400k for us to take Fifita
Thats 600k over 3 years
Put 600k in this years cap and pay him 400k each for the next 3
Can’t go wrong really and we are running out of time to use our cap space for this year
I think Fifita is pissed at the mad professor, he was all but signed at easts and Desi talked him out of it and now it appears he's on the nose at the Titans, obvious friction to say the least. That's what I think. If we sign Fifita, obviously he has to have left side, as long as Sam is happy for right side I am keen as! I think Fifita would come, play left, and then say 'screw you Des!' and do a May. I think he will play better than he has for a while.
He and Galvout will get on well then...looks like lachie could use a friendI feel the same he's a knob head but the team needs depth especially at 2RF where he can fill, can't let emotion get in the way of the team's balance.
I reckon there will be 2 external signings inns, KPP and Taylan.Im expecting this too...wont be any marquee signing, hopefully its TDS and Bula extending (benji let this slip in last weeks presser?)...and maybe another young player from somewhere
First call. They can be ruthless, it’s a wonder how they garner such loyalty.Let's re-evaluate how long he had left at the end of this season. He is absolutely playing out of his skin in comparison to the last couple. That's going to take a toll. I think 4 more years at fullback in first grade is almost impossible unless chooks are happy to have him declining. And uncle Nick sure loves his fullbacks
Surely the Bears can’t come in till 2028.I think with the pending announcement of the Bears joining the NRL in 2027 a lot of teams are scrambling to sort out their cap before Nov 1 to make sure they don't get caught in bidding wars with other clubs. Could be why Richo got on the front foot with Galvin rather than waiting to fully sort out our cap.
Catto’s been free to leave there eels years.Matterson free to leave Parra, who wants him back? 🤣
