Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Honestly I've said it previously and I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I'd have him back in an instant. Just look at our starting props & lock in cup & have a look at our 18-22 for NRL... our depth is shocking & I'm sure most people (and Benji) would prefer relying on someone like Ryan Matterson over Tony Sukkar or Kit Laulilii.
Not if you're trying to build a Team first culture

I think Fifita is pissed at the mad professor, he was all but signed at easts and Desi talked him out of it and now it appears he's on the nose at the Titans, obvious friction to say the least.

Does he sign with us I doubt it, but a move looks likely unless Des gets the arse.
Think Roosters have cleared the decks for him this year...
DCE next year
Feel for Sandon Smith who will be Koed..been offered just $400k,and he's way ahead of Bud and Latu..but messy

I would offer him 150K-220K for this year Parramatta can chip in the rest and see how he goes and if all is good offer him a one year contract for 2026 say $320K

He's playing second grade for the team coming last, that also almost came last in 2024...
He's only still at Parra because he triggered options
- There isn't anyone who wants him near the jopint over there.
Leave him where he is.

We finished 9th when he was last here
- He didn't want to stick around and see his contract out and contribute back then,
Couple years back would rather sit out than help his team go 1 better than Runners Up.

Offers nothing these days, and people still think he has some value based on his footy 5 years ago?
It's bewildering.

LEAVE HIM THERE!!

Taylan May...sure I can agree there.

Tyrone May for mine is likely. Covers 5/8 & lock- with Galvin leaving, coverage in the halves doesn't hurt. Then there's the family link. And the recent story of him being out of contract in the ESL.. the timing is right.

Last one? Tieg Wilton. Need a second rower. Sharks are pretty strong. Wilton is John Morris' nephew. He's got a year to run on his contract. I can definitely see how he not only fits a need, but his style fits the direction the club is going as well.
Tyrone May is absolute rubbish.
He covers nothing.

Taking Matterson off the hands of Parra to free up cash for Galvin would be classic Tigers. There's a reason the bloke has been playing reserves even when Parra are getting rolled. Matterson the footballer would be a handy addition, Matterson the person would not.
Parra will probs get Galvin anyway and freeing up $ from Matterson won’t make any difference, not that i would want him here anyway & Galvin not going anywhere til 27

You could be right there with KPP & Taylan. Would not surprise if it's Tyson Frizell on a 2-year deal instead of KPP and also think Tyrone May will make it another trio of brothers.

Frizell keeps himself in very good condition, culture & experience signing, would shore up the right side in defence if we played him backrow, alternatively if Seyfarth kills it the rest of this season Frizell would be a great benchie to cover middle & edge, Frizell is effort personified and very strong in contact.

Also hope to see extensions before 1 November for ...
Bula
TDS
Api (extra year in '27)
To'a
Skelton
Sione Fainu

Also I'd give Doueihi the opportunity to sign for 1 season here and then that gives him the opportunity to test the market for 2027 with Perth Reds as an inaugural signing.
Like em all except Frizell..too old

Talk about grubs he is the king of them.
He has questionable morals, no doubt. He has paid a price for those actions, whatever you feel was satisfactory or not.

People do grow. If he was a serial offender, you'd expect these issues would have continued on through the UK. But there has been no indication that is the case.

His real price for offending comes through the amount of loss of his personal revenue that the stigma of his actions carries, plus he will forever be under public scrutiny & ridicule.

His case went to court. His crimes were paid for to the victims to a level they have accepted. He has, to our knowledge, never re-offended. He might have learned a harsh lesson.

EX-PANTHER EYES NRL RETURN

Taylan May has taken the first tentative steps towards a rugby league return after his management reached out to a handful of clubs to gauge their interest in the Samoan international.

May hasn’t been sighted in the NRL since parting ways with Penrith last year amid allegations of domestic violence.

However, the charges were dropped by police in March and the NRL deemed May was free to return to the game.

May put his NRL career on hold to undergo treatment at a private facility while seeking help for mental health issues but a potential return is now on the cards after his management made furtive inquiries with clubs.

Don't mind it. There is no situation though where Seyfarth starts over Frizell. Even at 34, TF is an aggressive skillful athlete. Still one of the better backrowers in the game.
