Him basically asking the club and his manager to allow negotiations elsewhere shows he’s clearly gone to management and basically demanded he gets prioritised. Yes he’s younger and will be around longer than Api will be, but him not wanting to work hard and earn his spot is a red flag. The kids once wanted to work hard and earn their spot, now all they want is for them to be given rather then earn it. He’s a talented kid, but he’s no messiah.

Of course these guys shouldn't be put on a pedestal. It seems this is the approach of the club with TDS yet you are criticising it instead saying we should be putting season 2027 in the hands of a 22 year old hooker who while the signs are good, has not yet proved he will be a great first grader. That is where your position is confusing.
Stay, work hard and learn under Api and your time will come if you are good enough. You don't deserve the spot out of hand. That is the message from the club and it is the right one imo. If he doesn't want to take that opportunity then good luck to him.

Remains to be seen what will transpire. Seems to me there is a change in direction mainly for the better despite the overall win-loss ratio.

If any young player gets offered a starting spot, or a path that’s less congested at another club than their current club, it’s a no brainer what they will do. He’s well within his right. Trying to compare this to what Galvin did by not even wanting to look at the club’s offer and telling the coach that’s he’s not good enough is so far off the mark. It’s apples and oranges. TDS definitely hasn’t said or done anything to warrant his integrity getting questioned.
Tbh I think his friendship with Galvin could have thrown the team off him a bit as well. I was there at LO when we faced the Sharks and I saw May talking to both Galvin and TDS afterwards and looked like he wasn’t happy with either of them. I could easily be wrong but just saying what I saw that could be a factor, then again maybe not.

I wouldn’t say he’s gone as far as Galvin (not yet anyway) but for someone that supposedly loves the club, he’s sure not going the right way to be apart of it. He’s got a great mentor in Api and basically doesn’t want to learn from him anymore. Like I said I get the frustration, but he just needs to be patient. He’s nowhere near ready to take over from Api and even come 27 unless he improves massively, he won’t be ready then either.

I don't blame TDS. He can do as he pleases. My point is that you are talking about not putting juniors on pedestals, like not wanting to give guys like Luke L long extensions, while also arguing that we should be locking TDS in as our starting 9 come 2027 despite him being 20 and playing a handful of first grade games.

my guess is he has been told for years he was the successor to the 9 jersey when api was to finish up at the end of his current deal. plans changed and api doesn’t want to retire yet. i don’t see it being selfish from tallyn as it stands, could change but LG was much worse.

At this stage TDS couldn’t play 30-40 and give us a win. Yes I do think Api could do with a breather, but 20-25 max is what’s needed at this stage. Lets be honest Api is not the reason we haven’t won games the wins we have had so far he’s had a massive hand in, Api has not played bad every game there’s been 1 or 2 he’s had a shocker but that’s gonna happen eventually. Anyway TDS is nowhere near ready to take over for that long. He may dominate in lower grade, but lower grade isn’t first grade standard which he’s not ready to play for that long yet. And the few chances he’s had so far in firsts he hasn’t exactly shined in them.
