2 years ago Sione Fainu looked like a career reserve grader who was only brought here to entice his brothers to come. Now he is a genuine first grader who looks like he has plenty more to give.
Obviously they saw something in him cause Benji has been wanting him for a while. I also have concerns but he's young , big and I'm.hoping he improves as Samuela has. potential is there it's up to the coaching staff to make them both weapons on each edge.

What are the concerns ? He runs hard , tackles hard and often and has an offload in him .at the very least that’s a serviceable backrower. If we can get that right edge firing , and put him inside an in form Toa, Makasini , or May, comb8ned with the right being the dominant side for Bula , I mean he could and probably will be , a real weapon out there . The ceiling is through the roof , but the floor is average first grader. I don’t see any downside . Between him and Robert’s , there is potency coming next season. I’d say we should get another middle , but I feel like Robert’s will very much be apart of the middle rotation if only as a lock .

He has also been our best performing right edge forward in 2025 when playing there of late, yet some are complaining about KPP not being a enough signing. Go figure.

I was just pointing out that we have mainly 5/8’s playing 7, and Jock will probably be our only actual halfback in the 30. Although I am prepared to let Latu have a fair go, and am optimistic that he can become a decent NRL 7.

Yep, Latu is not a right-sided 1/2, not now and probably not ever. We just re-signed an ex Junior in Andrews = d'ya reckon his parents said - oh, we don't mind if our MOM U/18 QLD SOO halfback is 2nd fiddle behind outstanding young 5/8 Latu? Latu will be our long-term 5/8 and Andrews will be our 1/2 come 2028 after Luai leads us to the GF in 2026 & 27 and settles into a mentor role for those kids.

He must be getting a 10 year contract then, cos that guy’s job at providing mail is worse than the Son of Sam.
All sorts of wrong with this.
Andrews if left sided as well, also isn’t a organizational halfback. He has a higher chance of being fullback over ousting Luai.
Luai leaves after next year or stays as our primary half for another 4yrs. He won’t play 2nd fiddle to anyone far too competitive for that. If he leads us to 2 GFs in a row Benji won’t punt him either.
He isn’t even a good mail man these days.

By train, we will get a fullback and 5/8 to teach him how to be halfback?... At least we could throw one pass Kimmorley at him!
