Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

James Tedesco

That was my thinking. If Tedesco is worth $1M, then Latrell isn't far off.

Certainly Tedesco is the games in-form and arguably top player, but Latrell shades him in certain aspects and his main downfall is his consistency. However, I personally feel that "consistency" measurement is the difference between "usually quite good" and "unstoppable".

These people saying "$1M no but $850K yes" - that's only $450K over 3 years, only enough to sign a decent first grader for 1 season.

IMO proven million-dollar value players at end of season 2019, depending on specific club needs:
* Tedesco
* Tommy Turbo
* DCE
* D Fifita
* Taumololo
* RTS
* Cam Smith
* Ponga
* Papalii
* Munster
* Keary
* Josh Hodgson
* LATRELL

* Honorable mentions - Cook, Haas, Jake Turbo, Taupau, Boyd Cordner, Cam Murray, J Bromwich, Klemmer, Wade Graham

@Russell also do understand your point - however especially within the way the NRL is now the 1 mil price tag is becoming a lot more frequent

- Ben Hunt
- Daly Cherry Evans
- Kieran Foran
- Ash Taylor
- Mitchell Pearce
- Jack Bird
- Angus Crichton
- Shaun Johnson
- David Fifita (soon to be)
- Jason Taumololo
- Anthony Milford
- Micheal Morgan (very close to it)
- David Klemmer (900k)
- Tom Turbo
- Jake Trobejivic
- Nathan Cleary
- Kayln Ponga
- Cooper Cronk
- Cameron Smith
- James Tedesco
- RTS
- Sam Burgess

IMO Latrell Mitchell is apart of that list

Missing Moses Mbye..

He's just in the unique position of having one team who really wanted him and one team who really wanted rid of him.

That makes two teams happy to shell out half a mill or so to make the move. How much are Wests actually paying Mbye per season for the entire contract? Even 450 + 450 + 900 + 900 only costs Tigers $675K per season total.

@teddy23 His strength his the long-distance kicking that he possesses as well as an amazing long-distance field goal boot. But my thing against him is a medical reason. I have been curious as to his physique and he reminds me a lot of a person who suffers "swayback" or severe curvature of the spine. It is often caused through laziness in posture common in teenagers who couldn't give an F! LM has clearly very weak stomach muscles as per his growing pot belly not dissimilar to Andrew Fifita who also has swayback and is suffering severe knee problems of late. Performing the Goanna celebration a la Inglis could be detrimental as well. So whilst this might seem a strange and lighthearted observation I really can't see his body being as potent in the years to come - you only have one spine and if it has deteriorated at 22 it won't get better at 25 or beyond. It's a NO from me.

I wouldn't be ruling out souths as an option either. They have denied but they did the same with roberts. I would love to have him but think we are a very long shot. It will be easier you for him to got to cows/Souths then us unfortunately, **but if he can handle Robinson** then he should be able to handle Madge. Both are pretty strict disciplinarians

Seems like he can't handle Robinson.

I just don't see Latrell wanting the work rate involved at fullback once he gets there myself

What makes him special is he is similar to Inglis .....he may only get involved in a game for 10 minutes ...but for those minutes .....wow

Personally 850 k max for me ...he isn't a million dollar player

He should be, it would be the making of him, getting his hands on the ball all the time.

He doesn't have the footy brain or body to get his hands on the ball that much imo

He doesn't or hasn't really shown a creative bone in his body at this stage

So much dribble tbh. There are multiple players saying they wouldn't play for the tigers! We are a bit of a joke even though its hard to admit it. We are close if not the least successful club in the comp. We have paid overs for average players for years.

Now we in theory have a chance to have a crack at a premiership winning, state of origin, Australian player whos is 22 and the fan base wants to be conservative.

I don't get it. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but jesus people saying they want brimson on half the coin are just doing my head in. Superstar vs potential you by the star especially when your not a popular destination.

@hodgo but then again, he’s mate with Mundine.... let’s cut all ties and possible contract discussions immediately

Absolutely ridiculous lol

With confirmation that Ramien has been signed by the Sharkies they definately have to off load players to be cap compliant in 2020 Dugan Capewell Moylan a lot of talent available when will the dominoes start to fall.

Yeah you have a point , but Mitchell won't turn this club around by himself

We still need a forward pack that can hold their own footing before Mitchell can do anything

Said it a million times , but we could have Lewis and Sterling as ours halves pairing but if the forwards don't their job you may as well have Glen Air and Tyson Gamble as our halves

I think its fair to say that had Latrell been playing for us in 2019, we would have undoubtedly made the 8.

He would have put us well over the cap, the only reason he is being linked to us now is because of players leaving who got us to where we where in 2019 freeing up cap space

Latrell is expensive but we all know what he's capable of. He looks like one of those once-in-a-generation players like Inglis and Teddy who make the difference between losing and winning tight games. His goal kicking alone would just about ensure that. I would take the plunge and sign him if at all possible. He wants to play fullback which would suit us and his signing would probably attract other quality players to our club.

Doesn't need to be creative when he can steamroll people the way he does.

Greg Inglis was no ball-playing or kicking freak, he just monstered people and ran faster than most of them at the same time.

I think ur wrong here, the nrl would not have o.k.d his signing if they still had to offload players. the sharks will keep what they have and will still find away to sign more players.

@cktiger he's been there a few years now though. If we can get 4 or so years out of him in his prime before he gets the shits, I can deal with that. We have a better chance at a premiership with him than without him. He'll be retired by late 20s, happ is right

Just gonna put this out there

Manly have now reportedly got DCE, Jake and Tom all on over 1 mil contracts long term

Martin Taupau can be approached legally, surely manly won’t be able to keep him on a lengthy contract.

I would most certainly look into him, might have a good relationship with a few former teammates and his NZ coach

Martin Taupau and Nathan Brown would be absolutely devastating imo
