Meaney? Yes he is a very good player, wasted on the wing imo, though he goes alright there too. Can't see him leaving the Dogs though, he seems quite happy there. Still, money talks if we dangle a big enough carrot ?

And his grandfather was a champion Magpie, back in the day!

Not sure why everyone hates Milf. He’s not the player you want at halfback, but as a runner and instinct ball player, there is not many better than him. Creates something out of nothing almost every game.

Problem is in the last 2 seasons he's created more nothings out of somethings...

Disagree. He was involved in 27 tries this year which is enough to put him ahead of blokes like RTS.

Change of club might also get him out of his comfort zone, similar to what happened with Benji.

My immediate thoughts are that you will catch a few frequent flyers with this.

Ok so we replace Matterson with Leilua. Not like for like but that’s ok. I’m happy we haven’t lost anything there. But we are still behind where we finished end of last year. Need a hard nosed prop (maybe Packer can be this role) and definitely need pace and impact in the backs - centre or fullback.
Talau, Garner, Twal, Mikaele will all improve I think. We get that prop and an elusive back, then we have an improved, and potentially very competitive, roster.

If Packer is fit and motivated and Musgrove is playing, I feel our middle is better than the end of last year.
