Aj is just an average player who would join our club coz his club doesnt want him and we are probably the only option. I'd love to get a star player but it feels like it won't happen. Eep.

Can I remind you that the Roosters don’t want LM either or does that negate your argument

You could say the same about AJ, but I won't

So much crap talk at the moment on the forum, in short, you can only buy what's available. Just remember that buying a champion player does not make you a champion team.

**As being the laughing stock of the NRL ppffttt I don't buy that at all. I would suggest that most opposition supporters would say that the Tigers are their second fav team, maybe they just like underdogs.I can take that as a compliment.**

Anyway, its only a game a far worse things are happening at present in Australia and the world. Fires, unemployment, drought, climate change, Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon etc. Just enjoy the game and the club for what it is and enjoy our wins and drown our losses.......

If you talk to most Rugby League fans funnily enough you find that the Roosters are the laughing stock of the NRL. Despite their onfield success, most people are aware of their favouritism with the power brokers of the NRL and are skeptical of the way they have 'bought' their success in recent years. People are always having a dig at their salary cap sombrero and seem to regard their Premiership success as somewhat hollow victories.

I’d settle for being the laughing stock with back to back premierships!

That sounds like the definition of a Roosters supporter.

Well my missus and eldest son support the Rooster. Me and the little bloke are Tigers. I can tell you who does more smiling in our house during footy season!

I’m referring to the fact that our club has a reputation for being a joke within the league.

I don't really think that's true. Finals record yes, but basically every team that fails to make a punch each year is the butt of jokes, not specifically Tigers.

Unless you are trying to tell me Souths, Titans, Dragons, Panthers, Eels, Bulldogs, Broncos, Knights, Cowboys etc. are all respected and honoured amongst NRL fans.

I don’t care about other teams rep, I only care about the tigers.
The tigers Rep is damaged, management even know it, and apparently they are trying to change that.
Signing AJ isn’t a positive move forward in changing that rep.
We offered LM everything he wanted and still didn’t join, that’s saying something.

Roosters offered him $800k and he knocked that back too. Dogs knocked him back, Cowboys knocked him back and in the end, we knocked him back. Says more about LM than the mighty Tigers.

Bit embarrassing if we don’t announce a signing today..

We are always in the media talking game, then nothing comes to fruition.

Sums up the mindset of this forum doesn’t it. Mitchell unwanted origin and Australia rep from team that developed him from age of 15 MUST SIGN HIM OMG.

Also this forum

Why would you sign a player who a clubs been trying to get rid of for 12 months?? TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT FROM WESTS TIGERS!

I’ll give ya’s the tip, AJ on 300k is better value than latrell on 1.1 mil. It’s all about perception.

AJ was the leading try scorer for Souths in their premiership year, which was also his rookie year, and he debuted in round 8. He was also their leading try scorer in 2015. He has been picked for the Kangaroos and in the emerging Origin squad. In 2017, his first season at fullback, he scored two tries in his first game and scored five tries in one game against Penrith. Last season with AJ at fullback, Souths won 8 of their first 9 games and he was injured for quite a few games during the season. Whoever thinks he's a dud needs to take a closer look.

Don't listen to them Bones, deep down they know those victories are just hollow and were brought about by the systematic pillaging of the best players from other clubs under extremely dodgy financial dealings that the NRL turns a blind eye to. Everyone knows it, even Roosters supporters.

Latrell wanted fullback and around 1mill per season, no other team could offer that, dogs have a fullback, cowboys used him as bait and the roosters weren’t giving him the cash he wanted or the position he wanted.

How sure are you of the $300?
Others saying $650!!

@tigerballs not even fussed if we get LM or not, I just don't wanna add years of bad contracts while we still have them in Mbye Reynolds McQueen Jennings.

Big difference from Mbye to Latrell.
Everyone is aware of the potential risk with Latrell.
We signed Mbye as a fullback, yet here we are trying to sign a fullback, and it’s not like Mbye was a fill in, the guy is on good money, playing... I don’t even know where he will be played at 2020.

Well at this stage he’s our best fullback, hooker and centre IMO. Might not be worth what he’s being paid but we’re a better team with him in it.

Centre yes, fullback no and best hooker is a bit of a stretch, he's a terrible hooker!

Personally, I felt more comfortable with CT at number 1, he tends to have an X factor that I just didn’t see Mbye having.
I did see Mbye show improvement in attack while at center, as for the hooker role, we will have to see I guess.
Fact is, can’t compare Mbye to Latrell at this point.

Name one hooker better? And his 2018 fullback form was great, miles better than CT. He was carrying an injury most of the season.

Don’t hold your breath - it’ll be Musgrove or Billy friggen Britain or some other muppet like that.

Geez Steve, that former regularly half full glass of yours has fallen off a cliff.

Mate as far as recruitment goes, my glass has been empty for a long long time. We just never get it right. I don’t know why but everything we touch recruitment wise turns to crap

So no media leaks so I’m assuming no signing announcements today. No big surprise, Justin Pascoe is one let down after another. Is anyone else waiting for this CoExcellence Plan to fall over?

So if there's no signing announced today it will just be further evidence that the bloke is a total amateur....way out of his depth as a CEO

Just watched the short promo on Reece Hoffman. Having a couple of super quick wingers outside of two big, strong and reasonably fast centres would make our backline that much more potent. I will watch how this young fellow processes.
