C’mon, it was published (on Wests Tigers website too) and there’s no reason to deny the clear proof we go better with a specialist #1, even Tedesco *had* better defensive organisational skills than Thompson. MBye fully fit and catching bombs brings more than enough strike power from the deep. Madge simply had to make the best of a bad situation this year and our efforts to find a NEW marquee back will show that he never lost his position to anybody , he simply plays as a better running 3/4 - not dissimilar from Brooks clear preference to 5/8th.

Works for me because we haven’t had a good centre or five-eight in years - virtually since Suli who isn’t a bootlace on Moses’ foot yet- Latrell could be compared also except that they have vastly different skill sets and yet both fullbacks by nature , Mbye with fitness and finesse as well as bringing a very solid defensive side to his play that we lacked on the edges when injured last year. Again, a player made Capitan and close to one of our highest paid players would never be dropped by THIS coach without a word as to accountability behind it.

Speculating at a time like this to me seems frivolous and impossible because you’d have to believe u actually know something...

So no media leaks so I’m assuming no signing announcements today. No big surprise, Justin Pascoe is one let down after another. Is anyone else waiting for this CoExcellence Plan to fall over?

So if there's no signing announced today it will just be further evidence that the bloke is a total amateur....way out of his depth as a CEO

Or perhaps evidence that some people have a limited grasp of the english language.

Big difference from Mbye to Latrell.
Everyone is aware of the potential risk with Latrell.
We signed Mbye as a fullback, yet here we are trying to sign a fullback, and it’s not like Mbye was a fill in, the guy is on good money, playing... I don’t even know where he will be played at 2020.

Well at this stage he’s our best fullback, hooker and centre IMO. Might not be worth what he’s being paid but we’re a better team with him in it.

Name one hooker better? And his 2018 fullback form was great, miles better than CT. He was carrying an injury most of the season.

Benji and Reynolds rotating did a better job at the back end of last season.

Reynolds is one of the worst hookers I’ve ever seen. Mbye is a mile better.

If that's the case, why did he even mention it if its not 100% locked in done deal.

This makes absolutely zero sense.
Firstly, it’s clear proof that ANY team with a specialist fullback would be beneficial.
You make out that the fact teddy had/has better defensive skills then Thompson is a negative towards Thompson, Teddy is the best fullback/player in the world.
You blame injury for Mbyes poor form, he had enough time to show something.
And then you say he didn’t lose his position to anyone even if we did sign a back (LM or AJ) they want fullback, Mbye was meant to be our specialist fullback.
Not sure how he even got the captaincy.
The whole Mbye thing to me don’t make sense at all.
I’m just hoping he has a strong 2020.
