All this talk of Hastings having no talent
- He played NSW U16s, U18s, Australian School boys, Junior Kangaroos
- He debited for the Roosters at 18 the benchmark club in the comp playing 32 games in 2 years
- He has played and won an NRL semi at Halfback (unlike our current halfback)
- He played 1 year in UK Super League and won man of steel and made his debut for Great Britain
- At NRL Level he has kicked 29 goals from 35 attempts
He has had some problems with his attitude but they seems to be fixed - his talent imo has never been the issue
Totally respect your opinion. I’m not worried about his attitude or him being a bit different. When I’ve watched him in NRL he gets too involved, rushes everything, tries to do everything resulting in errors and poor decisions. Another way to explain would be to say he runs around like a headless chook!! He displays little spark at all. Not a fan at all
No pace at all so no spark. I can't believe in our pedestrian backline some are wanting to add another slow back.
Good thing our CEO has identified that we're chasing speed.
In the Super League last year he topped the try assists with 36 - the next best was 22
All your quoting of his statistics has no point - what did he do in the NRL games?
Plenty of players are up for schoolboy games (NSW, Australia and Kangaroos) and then fade into oblivion.
He debuted at 18 - big deal, so have many players and there will be many more.
He may have won a semi - but I would not swap him for Brooks (no way).
As some would say on here Lolohea, Rankin etc. are playing ESL and they wouldn't want them back. ESL is a different kettle of fish to NRL.
As for Golden Boot - it is just political - Just like Slater winning "Man of the Series" at SOO.
Tell me about his great form for Great Britain in the recent series where they did not win a game (he played in all 4). He was pathetic!!!
Maybe we could use him as a goal kicker in the CC - if he could earn a spot, but I don't think so.
Slater at least was a class player and played well in the series. Poor comparison
No it isn't - he didn't play the whole series.
It was a political award.
