This club has literally survived setting itself on fire multiple times, now a handful of people want an amputation after stubbing their toe.
Seriously, this is only painful because a vocal few can’t get over it. What did you do to survive the merger, Craig Field and McGuinnes, Hoppa and Lamb, Prince leaving, Lui, tiger sharks, etc… I’m only up to 2012.
If you’re that sick of it find a new hobby, come back in March. You should really aim higher than being miserable all the time.
The signings you make and shouldn’t have (Blair, Ballin, Cleary’s crew for the money we paid) are what wrecks your cap. The signings you wish you made and didn’t, imo, at the very least don’t stuff up your future recruitment.
Finally, people who are all doom and gloom should look up self fulfilling prophecies. In any business it is very easy to create an aura based purely on unreasonable expectations, be they positive or negative. The more posts in the media, including social media, the more you add to the perceptions out there that "the tigers suck ". In my opinion we have over achieved to finish 9th and I wish I enjoyed that more about last season instead of being so bothered by the seasons prior. Even the fans don’t believe, how are we meant to convince anyone else? What’s more, when the club leadership is positive they get mocked by the know-it-alls on here with less than no idea. All departments are improving, football will too.
If I’ve offended anybody I’ll just say this. I can’t wait until we succeed, I hope and believe it will be this year, otherwise why bother being here months before kick off.
Mate passion drives this forum. We are all ridiculously passionate about our team. This leads to emotional investment and emotional comments. I love your passion and how you express it. But you’ve articulated the problem. We go from mistake to mistake to mistake. It needs to change. We lose every clutch moment. You can list all the achievements - front office ok, great coach, COE - all good. But we still lose. Always. It needs to change. And as a passionate member and supporter I demand more. All emotional with best of intentions. But I’m sick of losing. Aren’t you?
