Souths still taking about rumours they are about to sign a middle forward possibly Packer, wonder how thats going to go down. Surely we'd have the upper hand if they came knocking, personally if Packer is fit and has mended his fences with Madge i'd rather him stay unless its very lucrative for us monetarily or a swap for a player that will make us stronger. No point strengthening Souths just for the sake of it.

I don’t see any team wanting to pick up Packer, he’s on a massive contract and doesn’t offer much anymore. We would have to throw in for half or more of his contract most likely and it would only make sense if we need to free up more salary cap but we have a decent amount left anyway.

Good props are always in demand and Packer injury free is one of the best.

Yep, kept hearing we were keeping powder dry for JAC for 2020 but now he confirmed he’s staying at Storm this year.

Let's hope Momorovski gets a great combo going with JAC - do they play on the same side of the park? - and then gets in his ear about joining the Tigers in 2021

I dont think JAC has or had any intentions of signing with us, he's desperate to get to Sydney for family reasons which i understand. We have been trying to nut something out with the Storm to get him what he wants probably not only money wise but in the location he wants geographically. But he wants to wait that tells you everything you need to know, sometimes you can give a player everything they want but they still want more eg LM and seemingly JAC

Yeah most likely...
Doubt they’ll be any more significant signings for this season.
Heaps more talent to choose from in 2021 but we’ll be up against all of the other clubs ...no just a couple .

Wally Lewis called him the best prop in the game when he was at Saints, said he was the best forward at finding his front in a tackle and giving his side momentum. I wouldn't go that far, but he ws pretty bloody good.

Don't think we will sign anyone else before the start of the season .. we might be leaving our last spot for an attempt to get Stefanio Utoikamanu across before 30 Jun 20.

Just a thought, what if Parra are still playing games with Stefano? What if they wait until we sign #30 and then release him? He has a WT contract for 2021 but what would happen for the rest of 2020? Could we sign him at least to CC for rest of season or if they force him to another club and then make us fight other club to get him for 2021 and they can play the innocent party card.

Wow you are really overthinking that. No matter what happens he has a contract here from 2021. Also you cant just release a player under contract unless they agree.

Yep, I don't trust the current regime at Parra to do anything honourable or ethically especially in regards to WT. If they can do something underhand or grubby they have shown no compunction in sticking it to WT.

I loved the guy when he was here but I don't see this as a good opportunity for us. He comes across as being Latrell like and we will just get dragged through the mud for no benefit.

I also think he is a winger and we will be right for wingers.

We have no pace on the wings. There needs to be a huge recruitment drive this year for wingers with genuine pace.

We're building nicely I think Paws. Next year will allow us to target some decent strike wingers. Still may land one this year, who knows.

A pacey winger and top level forward completes the team. Main issue for next year is replacing Benji - either Doueihi goes to 5/8 and we sign a fullback, or we just sign another 5/8. Either way it’s a very important position to fill and if we don’t get it right it could cost us.

Yes you can . You just have to wear the total of the contract. Ie. stefano has 60k left to be paid . The eels say stuff it , he’s taking up a position in the 30 we would like to give to another player . They still have 60g left in the cap (half of minimum wage ), then bang he gets released .

Does anyone really read the DT anymore? I don't think I've brought a newspaper in years as I read the news on my phone. Im not paying for a subscription for DT either, when I can simply log into 9news, fox sports or whoever is free. The DT can jam it and their dodgy reporters too. These reporters have no importance in this world and must feel really special when they contribute a nothing story which is mostly full of lies/rumours or just their own personal thoughts.
