Plenty of ticker too - I like him except for when he puts on that Maroon jersey
Is he not signed up though for 2018?

Nope. Off contract this year…

He averaged over 150m when he played fullback for the knights. That's last year when they were terrible. Imagine him in a good side.

Yeah, like Queensland. You saw what he did in Origin last year.

I am pretty sure Gagai can play all backline positions and would be very handy.

How much should the Tigers be looking to offer Gagai?

There are a couple of problems with Gagai:

1\. He really wasn't that good at fullback for the Knights, which is why they ended up shifting him back to the centres. If he was a revelation at fullback he would be playing there ahead of Brendan Elliott and Peter Mata'utia. It is just a more important position than centre.
2\. We'd be signing him off the Knights. If there is one thing the Knights have it's money. So we'd be getting into a bidding war with the club that has the most coin to spend.

I'm not saying he's a bad player or that we shouldn't consider making an offer for him, but if we do it should be as a centre and not a fullback, and we shouldn't get drawn into a bidding war with Newcastle for his services because either way we would lose.

Not sure a Sydney club is the right fit for Gagai - if he went anywhere Id say it would be to link with Bennett in Brisbane. Doesnt hurt to have a crack though.

As I said before, unless a player has a real desire to play under Cleary, we will not come close to the big name signings, we will have to sit back and see what some clubs might have to release in order to balance there books. Some times the players that are discarded by clubs are the best buys as they have a point to prove..bit like Siro

Manly have a bloke in their ISP side who goes pretty well but I'm not sure of his contract status - Jamil Hopoate. Watched him last week and he stood head and shoulders (figuratively speaking) above the other forwards on the field. If he didn't play firsts for us he'd be great as a depth signing but I reckon he's a definite first grader.

Chip off the old block, has heaps of off field dramas

Luke Lewis is off contract at the sharks and isnt retiring.

Should have got him first time around. Surely to hell he is on the radar.

I'd defo be in favour of signing him or Hoffman for 12 mths to mentor Aloiai etc.

Want someone with more strike power.

I reckon Guerra needs a change. He is still one of the more effective players at the Roosters even though he is having a down period.

Would suit our style of play too and is a current SOO player.

Its pretty boring today with no rumours
Nothing by DT or Fox either
Nothing by ALI or Lurker

Yawns

I agree with you.

Player transfer rumours are what make the game interesting. If you want to find out more check out Paul Kent on NRL 360.

Lewis is still hitting holes, scoring tries, saving tries and is first there on the kick chase, cant fault him really.

Wasnt it Cleary who cut Lewis?

Because he was on massive overs at the time. Nothing personal.

Gus got interviewed by Rothfield in todays paper, Gus said 100% Lewis asked for a release, he wasn't cut or pushed out.

Channel 7 has just reported that Woods has signed with the Dogs

That I don't mind, Teddy leaving would be bad, but we can still recover if it happens.
