Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They say two things are certain in life. Death and taxes. There’s actually 3. Death, taxes and Weststigersforum getting fixated on our club signing certain players. All of last year it was Lomax. Now it’s Saab.

Next year its DeBelin
All StGeorge players
There was also talk of Frizzel at one stage
Knowing our luck the only signing we are likely to get from the Dragons is Mary when Madges contract runs out

Unless their name is Cameron Smith or Greg Inglis

Or Cameron Munster, Ryan Hoffman or Will Chambers, there are more but it proves that Melbourne don't wait until the kid is 20 or older

Wests Tigers 2021

Doueihe
Nofo
BJ
Mbye / Momo / Hoffman
Talau
Madden
Brooks
Twal
Blore
Luc
Aloai
Grant?
Musgrove

Stefano
Mikaele
Garner
Johns

That's without buying anyone. Looks alright.

I don’t see us making any major moves this year apart from Harry Grant if Smith signs on. We have cap space at the end of next year with Reynolds and Packer coming off and 2022 Mbye comes off. We need 2-3 key signings and more young talented players.

Most signings at the end of this season will probably be depth. Quite a few spots open I’m hoping for one good player who’s quality and some depth signings who hopefully are young and have potential.

I agree. I guess you never know who we can offload but it’s unlikely all our high paid players have limited value.

At least now we have a coach with signing power. He attracts a certain style of player which is a nice change.

Assuming AD remains at fullback we need a quality 5/8th and winger as well as probably 2 forwards that have some ball playing skills and experience to lead our pack. The way I see it that is the minimum we require to be any chance for semis.

We need a player like Ben Kennedy, James Graham, Steve Price, Micheal Luck, or Dallas Johnson. These guys joined their respective clubs (Kennedy - Manly, Graham - Dogs, Price & Luck - Warriors, Johnson - Cowboys) and showed the way with their actions. With the exception of Graham, none of these guys are spoken about regarding their impact on their clubs.

Sadly, we already had tried this with Russell Packer, and he has mostly been a flop to this point. So our only option is to either look to England or continue signing/developing young players.

We need at least two very fast specialist wingers, one of whom should be a goalkicker like Rueben Garrick. We should not play our specialist centres on the wing. There are too many backs in our squad who are strong runners but lack pace, especially over 100m. There has to be a balance between strong runners and backs who have genuine pace like JAC, Koroibete, Garrick.

Surely Madge had a plan when he released Corey. You don't just let a player go halfway through a competition without having a substitute at the ready.

Would love to see a Koroibete back here. Saab is a talented upgrade. I think if given the opportunity that Matheson Johns could be a real goer. Up front, I really have Corey Haraweira Naera on my wishlist - he would take things to the next level.

We get the $340k odd second year of the Farah fine back for next season, which pays for an average player or tops up the wages for a really good one.

Could really use Stefano at the club now.... we really are lacking size in the team. Even with Twal back it’s a skinny looking bench.

You would hope that our administration is at least asking the question.
In saying that am I right in thinking that Blore is same age and similar size to Uto? If so I can't see him being far of getting a chance. If he joins the rotation we could be doing a lot worse with our extended forward pack.

Para are intentionally sabotaging Stefano development. Could you imagine if this was being done to Moses or matterson.

Hypocrites

It sounds like a work, health and safety issue.

Agree 100%. You can add Beau Scott to that list. He brought toughness to Parra pack even though they were an ordinary footy team. I believe what you see today is a follow on from him.

Gonna be tough to sign quality for all those positions. Not many good halves available. There’s some good wingers and forwards around though.

Let's just hope they never win a grand final or even make it to one. Karma will hopefully hit Parra bad.
