Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So many different views on players and who we need don't need. Impossible for Maguire to please everyone when clearly opinions are divided.

Never ever gonna please every fan unless you win the premiership. Even then someone will find a way to complain

Bulldogs offering Brandom Smith big coin irs totally false. He's under contract for the next two years, he can't legally be approached until 1 November 2021.

You still think other teams abide by rules...

Hope we don't get Proctor. I'll be spewing for months.

It will give us something to chew on, that’s for sure.

That's sick (I like it)
Do you often eat other people's spew

Not an agent planting a story to increase his value?? .... no surely not!

We are currently playing a converted 5/8 at fullback.moving Douihei to his specialist position and bribing a fullback with speed is smart.

Madge got Inglis to be a premier fullback whilst Addo Carr is a world class winger he has the size and speed to make it work. We will lose a link man in attack which is a big concern you can either ball play or you can’t.

It makes sense for us more than any other Sydney team as we have no fullback.

We lose a link man but JAC will be doing a lot of support work up the middle. Play him like Melbourne play Paps, limited ball playing but is the one receiving the ball in dangerous areas.

I’m more worried about how he would go defensively at the back. His pace will help but if he’s not in the right spot it will be a big issue

Great point. The one positive is the Fox is experienced and has played in big games Origin and Finals and delivered. Fitness and athleticism won’t be a problem. Defensively it’s a huge question mark but Douihei is not a great defender as the last line of defence.

Moving Douihei to 5/8 will require another 5-10 kegs on his tall frame.

Here’s a piece from the telegraph today;

The Tigers have also expressed interest in Addo-Carr. When News Corp contacted the Tigers about the winger, a senior club official confirmed the interest but said they were yet to have any formal discussions with his new manager, Mario Tartak.

If Addo-Carr does return Concord, there is a view he could be played at fullback with Adam Doueihi shifting into the halves to partner Luke Brooks.

It’s believed the Tigers are looking for more pace and explosiveness from their fullback.

Yea i saw that - i thought straight away that some journo has been reading the forum again.

Ch 7 reporting Dogs making big $$$$ offer for Storms Brandon Smith.

He is signed at Melbourne until 2022 - maybe the NRL should hit them with an infringement for approaching prior to November next year - or maybe its just BS from Ch 7.

Do you think they are going to notify CH7 that they are breaking the rules. Only 1 club is stupid enough to do that.

Proctor is a good tough forward , but not a priority as we have plenty that play a similar role and Madge has them improving each week.Mabey a Paulo or JWH type,.Fullback and another half and more speed in the backline are our main concerns plus a goal kicker.

2021 GAINS
Harry Grant (Wests Tigers, 2022)
2021 LOSSES
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui (Gold Coast Titans), Harry Grant (released), Ricky Leutele (Toronto Wolfpack), Suliasi Vunivalu (rugby union)
RE-SIGNED
Kenneath Bromwich (2022), Tom Eisenhuth (2022), Harry Grant (2022), Tui Kamikamica (2022), Felise Kaufusi (2021), Justin Olam (2022), Ryan Papenhuyzen (2022)
OFF CONTRACT 2020
Sandor Earl, Nicho Hynes, Ryley Jacks, Cooper Johns, Max King, Brenko Lee, Isaac Lumelume, Paul Momirovski, Aaron Pene, Darryn Schonig, Marion Seve, Cameron Smith, Christian Welch

ZERO TACKLE have HARRY GRANT as a GAIN LOSE and RESIGNED PLAYER Each way betting at its best

i'm happy with Doueihi at fullback. His best position right now is centre, but he's shown me enough will his ballplaying that he can become a good ballplaying 1 in the style of Gutherson. Gutherson isn't particularly quick or strong but makes up for it with everything else. Doueihi can be the same.

We need an experienced leader in the forwards and not sure Proctor is that guy. Would prefer Welch if we could get him but i think he is likely to stay at the Storm. As for Brandon Smith, he is a revelation and would provide the winning mentality our guys need, but don’t think he’d come to WTs. I hope he plays really well for the rest of this season and Storm choose him over Harry. As for JAC i am very undecided on him. He comes across as a guy carrying plenty of attitude and baggage. In the Storm system his rubbish is kept tightly constrained but at WTs he could end up being a troublemaker and divisive. Maybe there are other guys who offer the speed we need without everything else that comes with JAC.

Tigers should be extending McIntyre for two years this year and also Aloai, Nofa for 3 years from 2021. Mikalele and Blore are the other two I would extend for two years from 2021. We need to keep the players showing potential and those performing strongly otherwise signing new players is fools gold.

We need to have as many players that are juniors or were given their first grade debuts with the Tigers. Aloai, Mikalele, Blore, Nofa, Douihei, Brooks, Liddle, Twal, McIntyre, Talau, Kepoa.

Our issue has been proven first graders signed from other teams. Packer, Matulino, Mbye, Reynolds, McQueen, ET. If we had invested more wisely the team would be in much better shape.

We need a Luciano Leilua type signing every year. We are not far away in my view but these contracts won’t correct until 2021/2022. It’s why releasing and signing younger playlists is the only play. Big names if they are game breakers is the only exception.

Proctors biting probably increases our chances of getting him lol. Him and JAC I'd be stoked

You are easily pleased if you want Proctor.

I hope they are being proactive in keeping a hold of Aloiai, Twal, Blore, Nofa and Liddle. Extend these guys as soon as you can, others like Garner and Musgrove can wait would like to keep them but they’re not top priority. McIntyre would be nice to keep too. If you wait until November they can look elsewhere and bump their prices up and you won’t keep them all, start talking to them now!
