We are currently playing a converted 5/8 at fullback.moving Douihei to his specialist position and bribing a fullback with speed is smart.

Madge got Inglis to be a premier fullback whilst Addo Carr is a world class winger he has the size and speed to make it work. We will lose a link man in attack which is a big concern you can either ball play or you can’t.

It makes sense for us more than any other Sydney team as we have no fullback.

We lose a link man but JAC will be doing a lot of support work up the middle. Play him like Melbourne play Paps, limited ball playing but is the one receiving the ball in dangerous areas.

I’m more worried about how he would go defensively at the back. His pace will help but if he’s not in the right spot it will be a big issue

Great point. The one positive is the Fox is experienced and has played in big games Origin and Finals and delivered. Fitness and athleticism won’t be a problem. Defensively it’s a huge question mark but Douihei is not a great defender as the last line of defence.

Moving Douihei to 5/8 will require another 5-10 kegs on his tall frame.

imo JAC would not be a full backs bootlace.

He is a winger and that is his limit - not a bad limit though.

AD is injured and has not had a pre-season with us - let's not go off half cocked.

Tigers should be extending McIntyre for two years this year and also Aloai, Nofa for 3 years from 2021. Mikalele and Blore are the other two I would extend for two years from 2021. We need to keep the players showing potential and those performing strongly otherwise signing new players is fools gold.

We need to have as many players that are juniors or were given their first grade debuts with the Tigers. Aloai, Mikalele, Blore, Nofa, Douihei, Brooks, Liddle, Twal, McIntyre, Talau, Kepoa.

Our issue has been proven first graders signed from other teams. Packer, Matulino, Mbye, Reynolds, McQueen, ET. If we had invested more wisely the team would be in much better shape.

We need a Luciano Leilua type signing every year. We are not far away in my view but these contracts won’t correct until 2021/2022. It’s why releasing and signing younger playlists is the only play. Big names if they are game breakers is the only exception.

I hope they are being proactive in keeping a hold of Aloiai, Twal, Blore, Nofa and Liddle. Extend these guys as soon as you can, others like Garner and Musgrove can wait would like to keep them but they’re not top priority. McIntyre would be nice to keep too. If you wait until November they can look elsewhere and bump their prices up and you won’t keep them all, start talking to them now!

Aloiai, Blore and Twal are the key ones. Really important we hang onto them. I think McIntyre has been pretty good but I don't rate him as high as others. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I was totally wrong about McIntyre and wanted him to be released.
I admitted that weeks ago but the more I see him the more I think
he will be a very good one, in the vane of Finnucane. Worth holding
onto for longer I think Avo.

He’s actually going all right . My only real issue with him , has nothing to do with speed.
It’s his contact in tackles . He has a small upper body. Even papenhuyzen looks to be stronger in his upper body . I say this , not to be judgmental , but when he advances his body , his first contact will have more of an impact . It looks like he doesn’t trust his power . Thommo was really strong at this . Sure he was small but his initial contact could cause try savers.
It’s all good , to say things like “well if you’re fullback has to make a lot of tackles , then your issue is t fullback “ , but fullbacks today need to make 1 on 1 tackles . To me it’s a confidence thing that has less to do with skill , but more to do with age , and natural growth . When he gets stronger he will get more confidence to put his shoulder in .
To me , he is at the bottom of his mountain, which is a lot better than Thommos best.
We could NOT score with Thommo at the back , outside of an offload through the middle .

Yeah we need to hold onto these guys. The sooner we do it the cheaper they are, there’s no reason to wait around let’s talk to them now!

McIntyre for cheap is worth hanging on to hopefully he keeps improving, at the very least he’s good depth

Pangai told the integrity unit of all people that he can’t promise he won’t “break the rules again” 🥴🥴🥴 what a total flog.

I wouldn’t offer him $5

I'm not suggesting he's a poor player by any stretch and have no issues re-signing him for the right price, but I see Aloiai, Twal and Blore as the key people to re-sign asap for our pack. If we lost McIntyre I wouldn't be too upset, but i'd be pretty annoyed if we lost the other three.

I liken McIntyre to the Melb lock. He does a job well and becomes a cornerstone of the pack.

I'll add that I loved the way Seyfarth got stuck in. Sure he got belted but he was right back up giving his all. Give him a year he will be damaging.

mcintyre has been good for us but he is not what we need if we are honest. He is a toiler. We have them in abundance.
He is a poor man's twal. Neither is super explosive as a runner and both good defenders. I genuinely think you cant play both.
Good back up for the team but he shouldnt be a first choice player

He's a good runner, nearly always puts himself in space and has ball skills.

Yeah, you can't fault Seyfarth's energy. It led to a try for us against the Titans. I hope we can find a way to keep him to see what he may become.

He reminds me of Shaun Spence in that he is a reserve grader (albeit a lot bigger) and it's only our squad issues that he's playing firsts. While I like his energy he had a key turnover and it was a poor read from him that lead to the Marshall-King wide open run through our ruck for Tolman's try.

I like them both. Not everyone can or should be a star. Mind you Seyfarth is growing into his frame. When he realises how good he can be with his size, mobility and energy ...... Bellamy would work him well at the Storm.

I'm not sure what his contractual position is but I'd prefer Papenhuyzen over JAC. He seems more balanced and has proven himself at fullback with similar speed to JAC. Possibly less money also.
