Been a bit busy lately so have not been able to post any updates. Above all else, there is not really any updates at this stage. Everyone is seemingly waiting patiently for the season to finish before the circus of player movements begin. Most clubs are waiting for the salary cap to be confirmed and see what players become available as a result. It would be somewhat irresponsible of any club to fill their cap with what is currently out there on offer and miss out on a key player who can actually improved the team.

In regards to WT, the Talau rumour is not true in the slightest. The fact that some are questioning the kids work ethic and commitment because of a made up rumour is really, really disappointing.

The main priorities are obviously Addo-Carr and Grant. Both situations have not changed at all. Addo-Carr has agreed to a deal in principle but is contingent on Melbourne releasing him from the final year of his contract. Grant, similarly is waiting on C.Smith to make a call which has not happened yet. However, it is extremely likely that either one of Harry or Brandon Smith wont be at Melbourne next season.

Thanks for the update! How much cap is actually left? Surely they couldn’t fit in Grant and JAC there can’t be much room left.

I assume Seyfarth is in negotiations too?

You would think if we got JAC and Grant they would be smaller salaries next year and increasing the remaining years once Reynolds & Packer are gone..
We maybe need to send Smiths wife some flowers to convince her to let him play next year.. Would be 20 years NRL for him and get a real send off all year with crowds.. Never to be done again..

My take on it was more an opportunity for those not struck on Maguire to have another crack at his methods - in regard to the Talau rumour.

Apparently the EEls are releasing 11 players.
for once we get the best one in Stefano Utoikamanu

Honestly they did what we should do. Bust the cap.
Front load it OR rear load it. Just get people who would start in other sides first grade teams.
The Eels and Knights have the right idea. If you have to pay overs, pay them for SOO grade players.

Don't pay overs for fringe graders. Particularly don't offer 4 year contracts with huge dollars to second tier players. I think 2m of our cap was regularly sitting in the grandstand. The blame rests with Cleary, his idea of a Big 17 and an even bigger 25! I get what he was trying to do, get competition for First grade spots... but it just lead to a lot of Fringe-graders in the side.

We maybe need to send Smiths wife some flowers to convince her to let him play next year.. Would be 20 years NRL for him and get a real send off all year with crowds.. Never to be done again..

One of their deals would have to be back ended most likely Harry’s but that could be an issue if other clubs throw money at him. I severely doubt we get both in fact I would be shocked if we got one ?

If he leaves Storm the only thing that would help us is the fact he spend this year with us and understands what Madge is building here. I just got a feeling him and Madge get along and know what it takes to win. I personally feel like you and think we will be lucky to even get 1 of them but fingers crossed.

Rorters are using young Flanagan as an escape goat for poor run in the NRL finals .. I reckon they will be keen to move him on so they can go with young Lachlan Lam or whiz kid Sam Walker. Flanagan is a decent goal kicker .. shall i dare suggest we move Brooks on, and have a shot at Flanagan .. ??
