Mansour would be a liability.
Wasnt there a story not that long ago saying something
along the lines of , if he was to cop a hit to the head , he could die?

Yes sounds like just the sort of hysteria the daily tele would spew up.

Seriously there is no way in hell he’s going to be allowed to keep playing if a hit to the head would kill him. Even just writing that sentence reduced my IQ.

Without looking it up he played pretty much every game this year. He’s infamous for looking after his body. I’m not concerned about his body at all.

Mansour would be a terrible signing. To old too slow and doesn’t add anything at all.

Totally disagree.

Mansour is without a doubt still in the top echelon of NRL wingers.

He’s only being shopped because of the Panthers being forced to upgrade Staines 2 years before they were hoping to.

There is absolutely no way the Panthers were planning on upgrading Staines so soon. I think taking advantage of that and picking up Mansour would be great business.

We have nofo on good coin and kepoa as a cheap winger. JAC chased as a fullback. Mansour would make our wings way too expensive and offers not enough more to justify the spend. If we had the luxury of no mbye/packer or Reynolds is would be a maybe but as it stands no chance.

What’s the message we send to kids - sign with us and we signs an old bloke cut from his club to block you development pathway... we would be unable to sign kids along with our inability to sign great players.

Massive no from me, but that’s only my opinion

Mansour is a no for me, as we have a better virtual carbon copy playing on the right wing already and need pace or height, or even better, a player with both attributes on the left.

All good mate. Differing opinions is a good thing

I’m all about constantly improving the 17 and then everything else funnels down from there. And Mansour without a doubt improves our 17 next season.

I’m also not suggesting we pay huge money. When I say let’s take advantage of the Panthers offloading him when they really didn’t want to, that infers getting him for a decent price. I’m not advocating getting into a bidding war with the Bulldogs or whoever.

Spot on. All roads lead to Rome as they say.... hopefully it’s top 4 for us 👊

Yep absolutely, we all want the same thing.

And I like hearing other’s perspectives on things. That’s why I threw the Mansour thing out there.

Dont need Mansour .. we have some of the best youngsters coming through in Kepaoa and Kei .. for me Kei is going to be a must in our side .. centres or wing .. big, strong and fast .. !!

Agreed. We need to back our investment in youth.

Sounds great in theory and I totally agree in a perfect world. But is Kei going to be ready as an elite winger in round 1 next season?

And it just creates competition for spots. If we had Nofo and Mansour as locked in wingers, there is a ton of competition for those centre spots and from what we’ve seen, Mbye wouldn’t even be in the conversation.

As I said my enthusiasm about potentially signing Mansour is based on getting a good deal due to the Panthers having to ship him before than planned.

If he were in our squad he’d be one of the first picked.

Cheap doesn't make up for lack of pace. NMN

I think Kepoa could be anything . Tupou had always had issues with his hands coming through , so it can be fixed . He has talent galore . And I’m keen to see this Kei play . He sounds like something special

In my opinion AJ has already shown enough that he will provide as much as Mansour will.

Absolutely no upside to mansour. Why would we sign him? Even on a good side he gets shown up and has bad errors in his game. I can't believe anyone wants him. Average, overpaid winger. Can we stop mentioning him? The club will get ideas.

The 23-year-old, who is aiming to extend his deal at Redfern, spoke in detail for the first time about his meeting with the Cowboys - something that was arranged as he was en route to Cairns for a holiday - and his Taree coffee date with Tigers coach Michael Maguire.
While he was tempted by the country lifestyle the Cowboys offered, Mitchell said the Tigers tabled a deal worth north of $1m a season.
"It was big money - we’re talking big money - but I said to myself, ‘If I go there, will I be happy and the player I want to be?’,’’ Mitchell said.
"People will see I’m on over $1m … I didn’t need that pressure yet, with the money side [of things]. I thought, ‘Souths are keen, I’ll take a pay cut and go and play with them, challenge myself and play with some elite players’.
"The Tigers had Benji [Marshall] and good players. But they didn’t have the foundation. They played good this year and it was grouse to see.
But they didn’t have your Cody Walkers and Adam Reynolds, boys who have played together for years - the three players in the spine (along with Damien Cook) have played for four or five years already.
"Benji was in and out [of the halves], Luke Brooks was in and out, they [the Tigers] just couldn’t find that balance. I was like, ‘I can’t go there yet’. If there was an opportunity later on, maybe.

It sounds like Latrell has hired a PR firm

Rather back the younger wingers in the squad over signing Mansour

Ditto. I'd like to see the likes of Rizk and Kei given a go before Mansour.

Some spots we don't need to have locked in. Namely winger. As another thread said "how do we keep Papenheusen?" Simple unless someone really adds to the position we don't take them as Winger.
JAC, sure.
Brett Morris. For one year, sure.
Mansour? Yes he has question marks on his game, Yet he has massive experience. He doesn't really add anything for us. Moreover he locks up that position entirely and locks out the next Ryan P from our side.

So it's a No from me.

Wests Tigers have posted a 2021 squad list. Shows 26 players in our first grade team with 4 spots available.

Momirovski shown as contracted for 2021 with a player option for 2022. Joey Leilua confirmed to have a club option for 2022

There’s a whole lot of money available for 2022 that’s for sure. About half our team off contract some who are on big dollars

Thank you.

No McIntyre in there yet, hopefully as people have said he's re-signed it's just dotting the "i"s and crossing the "t"s.
