I think if Packer is injury free, then he may have a good year for us, it is contract year, but the $’s he got from us via Ivan are not ever going to happen again.

Nope. How many chances can a bloke who consistently runs for under 50 metres a game get?

He was injured a fair bit, with his foot I believe, anyway, we will see how he goes, either here or at Panthers?

He’s been doing it since the minute he arrived. I don’t have the stats but I’d love to see his metres per game since he arrived. I would wager it’s the worst in the NRL by some distance.

Bad recruitment decisions have burned the Wests Tigers in the past and after withdrawing interest in Josh Addo-Carr, the club is prepared to hold fire in the NRL market.
Despite being linked to unwanted Penrith star Josh Mansour as a replacement for the NSW and Australia star, it's understood the Wests Tigers are not interested.
Although the Tigers could secure the 30-year-old Mansour on a cut-price deal for 2021, the risk of losing rising talent appears too big.
Mansour is contracted for around $500,000 next year but has been told by the Panthers he will be playing reserve grade, with the club to pay some of his salary should another club sign him for 2021.
However, the Tigers are understood to have no appetite to block the path of rising stars Tommy Talau and Asu Kepaoa by signing another winger.
Despite club favourite David Nofoaluma testing the NRL market for a bigger contract at the end of next season, the Tigers are confident of re-signing him.
That would leave just one spot on the wing for Kepaoa and Talau to fight for in 2021, with both considered rising stars of the game.
The Tigers have been burned in the past by not holding onto young players with talent - letting Ryan Papenhuyzen, and ironically, Addo-Carr slip through their grip to join Melbourne.
Both have since established themselves as two of the hottest talents in the NRL, earning premierships and representative honours with the Storm.
The Tigers are not willing to make the same mistakes again as they look to overturn a nine-year semi-finals drought in 2021.
Without Addo-Carr the Tigers are short a fullback in 2021 with Moses Mbye and Adam Doueihi the two options.
However, they are still hopeful Daine Laurie will be released by the Panthers for the upcoming season.

Agreed. Fullback and 2nd row are the issues until next year. Think kepao and talau + the jet and talau can fight over centre/winger spots

I'll be surprised if we are destination club for Staggs at this point. It will be interesting to see if recruitment persists with chasing highly desired players after - LM and JAC - or sticks to the value for money players.

I hope they continue to chase every player, especially the elites, we only need one, then the dominoes will fall.

This was in the Fox news this morning re JAC:
He had been putting feelers out in a move to Sydney to be closer to family, Addo-Carr was pursued by the Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs while South Sydney were also floated as a landing point.

Having made his debut for the Wests Tigers in 2016 before moving to the Storm, Addo-Carr has been forward about moving to fullback, with the position seen as a more lucrative position that on the wing.

The Daily Telegraphreported that **Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis said that the club was now out of the running.**

“**We are only interested in engaging with players who want to come and play for us,**” he said. “And if the perception is the player doesn’t wish to come to the Wests Tigers because their manager doesn’t engage with us, well, that is fine by us. I am not going to lose any sleep over it and we move on to greener pastures.”

The report also said the Newcastle Knights were making a surprise play for Addo-Carr as well.

Now that's what i prefer Lee to say rather than mowing lawns.
Unsure who else the manager represents (Players) but sounds like he has been disrespectful to us by now showing up to a planned meerting. Emphasis now back on Manager.

Hope JAC and his manager are now crapping themselves that we have said we are no longer interested and we have taken our very generous offer off the table and will no longer be taking any part in pushing up his value.

Tbh I don't think JAC will be short of suitors. He'll end up somewhere on really good money. I'm also pretty confident if he came back to us we'd get the offer back on the table in about 2 seconds.

Not really sure about Mansour, but we do have a problem on the left wing unless Kepaoa suddenly learns how to catch. Talau is too slow for the wing IMO.

As it stands now whoever is on that left wing will be heavily targeted and lack of experience on the left wing cost us both games against Souths this year IMO.

Kepaoa is big and fast. He caught plenty last year. Admittedly he dropped plenty as well. He will be targeted but I reckon he is worth the risk. Just accept he will drop a few. Nofo drops some as well. Tedesco does as well.

Pammy, who ever she is

We currently have 5 second rowers, with two of these being Seyfarth and the kid promoted from the development squad. Other than that we have Luci, Garner & Blore
I reckon we need two more unless we have somehow transformed the two inexperienced guys into starters which feels unlikely

Kepaoa was a shining light and has a heap of potential with size and pace. It is the defence on the right which is the big issue.

Sorry missed MCK but doesn’t help at all

Twal looks like a front rower, I’m not even convinced on him as a 13

But if we are short, either will be there.

Tend to agree with MCK, but he is still with us (maybe his contract) so they must have something in mind?
