**Madge’s failed reunions**

Michael Maguire debuted a lot of talent in his time at South Sydney, and despite good relationships, will fail in his bid to reunite with two of them. Cameron McInnes and Angus Crichton, both members of the 2020 NSW squad, are high on his recruitment list, but the club will be used as a pawn as both re-sign for more money with their current clubs.

Maybe that's Madges plan

I have no problems with giving young panther players a path into first grade with us but i do have massive issues with signing an older player who is well past his best and on decent money blocking our young talent just to try and attract them here

Mansour basically has the same strengths as Nofa but is a better defender. If the signing does happen it will be interesting to see how much 'sentimentality' for Nofa impacts on Madge's decision...

I agree that he’s not as quick as he used to be but his defensive tackle efficiency is at 81%, Nofa by comparison is 69%. The average for first grade wingers in the NRL is 74%.

The Sauce would bring us some stability and crafty options on our left edge attack, so I’m all for it if he signs.

I would take him any day over Nofa for 100-200 less.

If we can move on cini as part of the deal too, then I'm all for it. The issue for me isn't so much mansour, it's that he takes up our last top 30 spot

We would be silly to get mansour! He blocks our juniors from getting experience! People like talau,Momo and AJ need to be playing to get better. Don’t be surprised if we loose them in the future if they don’t get game time! Talau and Momo can be approached in November 2021. Penrith is literally getting rid of mansour just so they can give Staines an opportunity. Big mistake from us if we get mansour.

Much better? He’s not that great a defender. He’s slower and doesn’t score nearly as many tries either. I hate when people say this but I really think he only scored due to having good players around him in Luai, Crichton and Kikau.

He didn’t score nearly anything as good as Nofa did, and the year before when Penrith went average he scored a whopping 1 try in 19 games playing on the wing.

Mansour is 3-4 years past his best and slow. If we sign him and Nofo for 2-3 years, we are presented with two scenarios:

- AJ, Talau and Gebbie (maybe) are blocked for the next 2-3 years from playing 1st grade.
- OR , one of them breaks through and we have Mansour sitting there in reserves on decent coin.

Nofa at least showed passion and aggression and some speed.Harry as well as being a good 9 gave us that extra speed and spark.We appeared to lack that extra yard of speed and enthusiasm in the backline that the better sides have.I hope we find it in the future.

Geez I hope we don't sign Mansour. I don't think Madge picks him unless he deserves a spot but I also see him as a wasted spot on good dollars.

I can understand signing Mansour for less dollars and letting Nofo go. I don't think that is a good result for the club but it's better than signing Nofo on crazy dollars.

What did we lack last year? Consistency josh brings consistency
I’ve heard off 1 of my mates who plays nrl that josh 1 of the hardest trainers and eats nothing but healthy food and treats his body like a temple this will no doubt help him compete at the top level for a few extra years
If we get Laurie in the deal and release mbye this improves our roster and is a great move

Isn’t Mansour on big money at Penrith? Doubt they throw in more than half. We’d be paying a decent amount if we got him.

You’d assume he on 500k we’d pay 300k panthers 200k not bad considering nofo on 500 or more

How does he improve the team? It’s a sideways move at best, that comes with the consequence of slowing the development of our young players. Sure he’ll get metres up the middle for us but he’s not a game breaker, we’ve already got a winger who’s of the same mould but does it all better.

The only positive is possibly getting Laurie early possibly. Mansour will be solid, but nothing special. Would rather have pace and height on the wing.

I've said it before.
If mansour is blocking your path to first grade then you're not ready for first grade.
Madge has shown he doesn't care about reputations.

Mansour is on less then 400k at Penrith so given they need to get rid of him we are prob looking at paying under 200k/yr for last years grand final winger who averaged 180 meters, 21 line breaks and had 65 tackle breaks in 2020. He is a great trainer who will set a great example for our young players and will mean our sets will get off to great starts on either side of the field plus his defence is good.

If we sign Mansour we “Might” get Laurie then we block the future development of our young players.
Then we are stuck with an ageing winger for 3 years, “another Reynolds, Packer, Mbye” type player that we are trying to rid ourselves of now.
This also HELPS Penrith re-sign Crichton, ending any hope that we might possibly jag him.
A big NO for Mansour as far as I’m concerned, I never want to help the scumbag Ivan.
