Just some retention updates:

Jacon Liddle, Tom Amone & Zac Cini have 1 year deals now on the table for 2022. Liddle's management want 2 & wouldn't surprise me if they add the extra year, Bulldogs keen on Liddle also but he seems to be a back up if they can't land a big fish like Smith or Daryl Clark.

Early days but a 2 year deal being discussed for Thomas Mikaele, Panthers & Raiders also interested.

Chee Kam won't be retained, at least not top 30.

Club in no rush with Seyfarth.

Russell Packer well................we all know where that's going.

Thanks @THE_POM,
Its a shame Tom Amore is not for 2 years as I think he will be a great player if he can just be given a chance in top grade.. Any chance of Mbye moving on still?

I'd be shocked if Mbye was still here in 2022.

Amone needs to put in then he gets the extras ,no more 4yr deals like Nofo the tanker !

He came back from a Knee injury and play like 5 games and absolutely killing it and averages like 160m a game.. Not a 4 year deal but 2 would be better for me.

In Reggie's .

James Bentley is a second row / hooker for St Helens, he might fit that cheese type role of being able to fill in at hooker if needed. If we did lose Liddle to dogs he would be a backup to Simokin from bench

How much freight will we be paying, we have a lot to spend in next years cap, my fear is Madge can't attract quality, so we are always hoping for a diamond in the rough, which is far from ideal

any word on the outside back front and 2022 targets?

As well seen so far Oliver Gildart is a target, (which for me is puzzling considering how Super League outside backs seem to go in the NRL).
A young forward from the Super League has been mentioned, James Bentley.
Little on the small side but apparently tough as nails.

has the recruitment policy changed in recent times to try and look to England as opposed to at home? Hastings, Gildart and now Bentley, seems as if we're trying to be a destination for English talent.

Combination of not a lot off-contract in the NRL worth chasing & more than usual English players wanting to come over due to current issues overseas.

Understandable, but is there confidence internally about outside backs in the younger grades? Surely centre/wing is a high priority to be resolved?

After watching Nicho Hynes get interviewed by Matt Johns gee I wish he was at our club.

Im waiting for a podcast before I commit to Nicho Hynes. Or does a TV interview Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon a podcast? Im lost.

I must be old school but prefer to sign players based on their on field performances.

If you haven't worked out by now that the kid's a talent then I can't help you.

Character matters.

Hey mate do you know what position the club see cini playing for first grade, does he have interest with other clubs?

He'll be on the wing in 1st grade soon enough, Madge loving his post contact meters out of the red zone. Thinks he could be a real asset to starting our sets well.

Thanks mate wonder what Madge is waiting for

This is one of the most interesting articles I have read. Cleary's comment on Brooks is interesting - 'I'm not sure what he is doing now'.

At the start of the Brooks' comment, Webster writes 'Elsewhere other coaches simply turn their halves into robots'

Maybe wants Cini to sign the 1 year extension first prior to making his NRL debut (maybe sign him slightly cheaper then), just a thought.

I like Amone's work rate for sure. But the metres will be a lot harder to earn against NRL packs, would like to see him have a bit more impact in ressies tbh but also interested to see if he can just step it up with an NRL opportunity, if so a 2yr would be appropriate!

With roughly 600k still to spend in this year's cap who are we looking at spending this on? We do need some immediate reinforcements, not just kids for the future.

He literally can't even kick a grubber. You don't suddenly lose that because of a new coach, mentally he must be all over the place. He played well in 2019 for madge which a lot of people forget
