As long as a decent deal is done with Finucane I think it's a good move. We shouldn't throw $800k at him but I read hes willing to take a little less so we should go for that.

We lack leadership out there and he'll be good for that, he's also an excellent defender. We can have Stefano, Seyfarth and Mikaele for impact if need be.

We definitely need more impact as well, we don't win the collision and that is a big issue.

I think a lot of it is attitude. In attack we can compete up the middle, make good metres and find out fronts against anyone when we want to its defence we struggle just sitting back waiting for teams

Our pack is just a little unbalanced at the moment, we have a lot of players that will push out really good metres as you suggested but lack the player that can really hurt the defensive line. Our defense is way too passive.

Pangi would set the standard, he hurts in tackles.

When he makes them. Not the best defender

This years stats

Averaging 28 tackles a match at 92% efficiency. I wish the rest of our team was as bad as him.

What about the ones that go through untouched

Everyone has an agenda. Not sure what Joey’s is but he has one. Could be as simple as not strengthening a club which is in a similar position (ladder and development wise) as the knights.

He wants a 12 team competition

Hoopers article today and his questions and answers about why Finucane should join the WT are conflictory,
He asks the question,
"The obvious question is why on earth would a player of Finucane’s calibre who’s won two premierships at Melbourne and played in six NRL grand finals **want to join** the on-field rabble that is the **Wests Tigers?**"

Now i would have thought Hooper would have added some of the good reasons about joining the Tigers here, eg, length of contract, the money, the COE,

But instead he goes on to say,
It's because he has so much to offer for the WT??

There is disharmony in his comments,
I think Mr Hooper needs to have a kit kat.

Hooper is unbelievable the bloke has absolutely no idea
All he does it make click bait articles to get people to read

Hooper is just a fed up, disgruntled fan like many of us on here. He writes things out of emotion like we do, so basically you have to treat his articles just as you would another opinion post from one of us on the forum.

As someone suggested earlier that some of our forum members should take the week off and refresh during the bye week
Maybe that message can be directed a Hoops

I agree, if we believe what Madge has been saying all season..they need to use the shoulder, then Pangai could demonstrably prove to be the most effective leader we have signed since Ellis.

Pangai can be that player when he feels like it... he can also be Joey Leilua levels of lazy. Definitely not against signing him but there is a decent risk that he flops for us as well. All comes down to his mindset and how he wants to play really

You’re basing your view on factual historical information, while my opinion is based on wishful thinking ?

But also knowing that in 2019 when Broncos signed or re-signed all those players we would have thought they were GF bound. The wheels fell off in 2020. They had such a horrible run you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Jo was in the thick of it too, but credit to him for picking himself up and getting back in there. The change to WT has been good for him.

I say bull
I wish Penrith to have such a horrible run
And the Roosters
And the Rabbits
And Manly
And Raiders
And Storm
And Parramatta

That will put us in the 8
Woo hoo

Signing with the storm instead of the tigers is just common sense really.

(First time quoting so hope it works lol)

IMO Not for for say $200k less. TPJ has a chance to help the tigers out of a ten year hole. Getting paid more to do it...maybe a legacy means nothing to most players. I would certainly cheer him on if he had a crack every week.

Welcome
Exactly right, there future could be over in a tackle, they should be earning maximum dollars available to them, there earning power is for a relative short time as it is.

He is making as many tackles as our 2RF

I have a good feeling about Finucane
If you are going to pay a little more for a good player/ Leeder then there ain't much better that Finucane
We have a great bunch of forwards and Finucane can be the leader of the Pack
I don't care if we pay a little overs
He has that hard edge and quality we lack
Give him Packers $ and some of Mbyes
The rest of Mbyes money can go to a hardened Centre or Wing

We need to pay a bit more for our “bait buy” the same as parra did with watmough way back - we need to buy a good player, in a position we need that is a hard worker and good leader… get that player, the rest will follow!!

Ok so Tpj was our top priority then we get flogged media says we should sign Finucane to solve our problems... My issue is why make a reactionarie change to our recruitment targets and stratergy from media pressure? If Tpj was our target a month ago why change now? This club is hard on its supporters.

Stop listening to the media, I doubt they have much idea.

Everyone in the media is doing a great job of selling Finucane to the WT.

Not buying into it.

How much did we pay Anasta for his leadership? ?

A reported $280k a year, not a lot

Had our best start in a while with him in the halves until he dislocated his elbow. Anasta was under appreciated at this club but In my opinion Brooks hasn’t had a better halves partner since.

Don't know if I would go that far, though they definitely worked well together when fit. Anasta guided the team around with the talk and field positioning, whilst Brooks delivered with the ball in hand.

It was not so easy to see on TV, but plain as day at the game.

Who said it's changed...?

Good Clubs would have options A B C D through to Z..when it comes to recruitment and retention..

I think they should check his pockets , before listening to the crap that comes out of his mouth.

To put pressure on TPJ to sign now before he misses the boat ?
