Throw insane money at the best coach. Bellamy should have been offered a ridiculous amount of money to leave Storm.

Bennett should be offered what he wants, we know he loves the $$.

Ask Trent Robinson what it would take to come here.

These guys would get rid of crap players in a minute. They attract good players. They have years of good defensive systems behind them.

If a Bellamy, a Bennett or a Robinson can’t get us firing then shut us down.

Buying premierships does NOT work . It is literally the reason we are in this mess . We neglected the juniors to invest all our resources in the first team , and got meh above average players on overs , which killed our cap .

This is what guys like you don’t understand . You see things as 10 years when in reality it’s closer to 2 . The sharks had 3 million of cap sitting on the sidelines ? Did they ? Because who was taking that money in the current market , if not for those players ? They had , just like everyone , thier over the hill over paid players sitting on the sidelines . If anything this season was a changing of the guard for many clubs . Including our own .

The dogs won’t even make the 8 , the next 2 years . That’s my prediction . It took Penrith 8 years to get thier 5 year plan to succeed .. and it wasn’t 5 million dollars of meh talent that did it . It was thier juniors who played together since Harold Matt’s .

What guys like me don’t understand?

I understand that we are going to be worse next year with the same coach and no new decent signings. He has lost this playing group.

This year is a disaster, next year will be worse and then the board WILL get new coaching staff.

I have no idea , but no one in the last 2 years that’s come on the market not named Lattrell Mitchell , would have moved the needle at all, and most would have put us back a few years .

I agree with this.. He is the player that we needed. He is a top 5 player in the comp who has an impact.

The only solution to this problem to me is continuing playing moneyball with a focus on talented players. That means junior or development players like Stef, Blore and Laurie.

If we can sign players like Latrell that is awesome but we seem to struggle.

I'd be more inclined to go hard at guys like Burton.

Yea exactly . The funny thing is , where we stuffed up originally , when the team is good eventually , then that’s the time to really knuckle down in your juniors , that’s where all your resources should be going . So that when that existing premiership window closes , you replace it with another . Hello Melbourne storm , San Antonio Spurs , Tampa Bay rays , Oakland As etc. That’s what all those teams do extremely well . You just need that first success though .

None of that is true . How are we going to be worse ? We are at worse going to be exactly the same . Our issue isn’t being bad , our issue is mediocrity . As in medium , as in purgatory , stuck in the middle .

For anyone that didn’t notice …… Our season was well over, done and dusted, at the end of June.

Confidence missing, heads down and that unhappy feeling of players playing because they had to and not what they wanted to be doing.

Hard to turn things around when external sources (media and fans) are lobbying for heads on the spikes. Throw in our inability to recruit and constant media and agents chatter that we are linked to signing anything that moves.
On the field every time we seem to poke our noses in front either the referees, the bunker or that old Lady Luck do us no favours.

So you would agree THAT is pretty bad environment to live in and try and achieve anything positive.

My understanding is that advice the club has been given is to circle the wagons, load the rifles and man the sentries and wait for the the circuit breaker moments.

Believe me this is no time to to go weak knees and cut and run …… “The worm will turn” for us on all the fronts.

Madge said that he needed men to stand with him in this battle. That goes for Players but also so called FANS and SUPPORTERS.

At what point does 10 years of this crap not make the fans feel justified in not backing the team?

No wonder this club is a mess. Whoever made that decision needs to go

If that's true it shows just how dysfunctional this club is. How could you sign two players without knowing the coach valued them as players? How can a coach be accountable if he doesn't have a huge say in the players he wants? I don't believe Kent is correct.

Too many cooks in the kitchen and too many cooks that don't have an idea.

His manager would be a dope to restructure his deal now. The more he holds off the more Stefano will get paid in the future, hold off another 18 months and he'll be demanding $500k+ a year

I believe they said the club is looking into reupping and front loading high performers like stefano and Laurie . It was in reference to the question what are we going to do with all this free space , and no one to spend it on .

Magde was one of three that met with JTJ at a cafe before he was signed.
