I hope it is, he is talking about Elliot.

are you sure though? like yeah, he hasn't shut it down but I thought he was intimating that the player we're after is currently contracted. could be wrong though, hope I'm not. I don't want Elliott either.

If the player is still contracted I'm leaning more towards either Taupau, Thompson or Sims.

Stef had comparisons to Payne Haas before he came into first grade and we gave him a huge deal as an unproven teenager for that exact reason. Obviously he's developed well, but I would be hesitant to heap any praise on Madge for it.

So Madge can't attract good signings, but on the other hand any signings that turned out good were because they were already good, not due to Madge's coaching. Hence making them good signings?

The knock on Madge is that we can't sign established good players. Signing on Gildart and Hastings this season is evidence. It's a fair bit different to offering big money to a 19 year old, regardless of how talented a prospect he may be.

Stef's obviously turning out to be a great signing, but even with the hype behind him, there was still an inherent risk that we were overpaying on potential that wouldn't be realised. It just turns out that he has a great head on his shoulders and wants to prove himself as a leader and premier player in the league.

I will give Madge credit for Luciano and Doueihi though - they've both improved as players since coming. I just don't think he's really done anything as far as Stef's development is concerned.

Statements like that make you wonder how long we can hang on to Stef because he obviously reveled in all that and they would be things that I don't think he would currently be experiencing at the Wests Tigers.

Unless we can provide that same sort of atmosphere at the Wests Tigers sometime soon then money alone won't be enough to hang onto a young player like him that has ambition and is obviously striving to reach an elite level and the success that comes with it.

And fingers crossed I’m right. He is between 50-100 fg games shown absolute quality in every position he has been asked to play and has absolute sting in defence. (Downside a little bit of a wrap sheet)
Despite all that I see a lot of SST from the roosters in this guy.

I have a feeling we might sign Nic Cotric as the Bulldogs are looking to sign Braidon Burns from the Rabbitohs which will be too many outside backs for them. I think if we do he would be a great fit for team as a centre & would add speed to our backline but I’m not sure who would be his centre partner maybe Gildart or possibly Roberts.

but for which positions?

The fourms has mentioned:
- Experienced Prop to go with stef
- Ball playing lock (depending on brooks/Hastings/AD)
- Hard hitting 2nd row
- Defensive centre
- Back up fullback

If that happened, and we got Jason Taumalolo, then there should deadset by an investigation by the Cowboys into the person who made that decision to let him go because it would be very very suspicious.
