With Suaalii going to chooks, I'd imagine Madge is going hard for Crichton.
I reckon we will get him.

Ha. Sorry, but sounds like youre taking the piss.

Glass half full bro

Wish i could be, but after last week it's abit hard mate. Hopefully things will look better soon and i hope I share your optimism.

I still believe things are turning, all that has happened in the last week is we missed a player who wants to be elsewhere and we lost a fringe 1st grader.

Speaking of crichtons.....Stephen is looking for a payday by the chammas smh reports....pennies offered him 500k, he's looking for 600-700k......be worth throwing our hat into the ring if only to pump up what the panthers have to pay

Will be disappointed if tigers don't offer him 3 seasons at 800K plus bonuses and starting fullback. He is a guy who can change the fortunes the club and attract other talent

Agree. If we can’t sign anyone at least we could be nuisance value for the big clubs.

He was interviewed during Origin and said he loves the Chooks, his mates all support them, and he wants to stay a long time. He said he has no interest in the Wallabies or anything else (presumption being Souths want him back in exchange for releasing Suaali).

Oh is that like when Wayne Bennett says Souths aren't signing Jimmy Jet or have no interest in Latrell?

Does anyone actually know for sure if that works? Surely player managers can call your bluff quite easily.

Judging by the comments of certain posters from certain threads it sure seems that there's a massive lack of respect and professionalism in our contract negotitations. We seem somehwat cocky and arrogant yet players feel alienated and disrespected.
We are not the roosters or storm. We can't offload one player if they get greedy and have our pick of players to replace them. We are the least deisrable club in the comp. We have immense issues selling ourselves to players. If we delvier players harsh ultimatums we have to be extremely confident we could sign better players for the same money. Given we have to pay 10-20% more than other clubs to have any chance we can't be so cavalier with retention.

Given his performance and off field leadership i'd say Aloiai is worth at least 400k. He's no superstar but he's a solid prop that actually makes solid metres and gives a crap about this club. Yes if Manly offer several hundred k over our offer then that's understandable for him to go. If he was on 300k and offered 330k take it or leave it then that's wrong.

I share your concerns for sure. I believe Aloiai with Tamou taking some of his dirty hit ups would become an even better player, he’s pretty good close to the try line with the right shapes.

Sterlo is someone whose opinion I respect and he always says that good clubs don’t let a player go unless they have a replacement. We seems to break that rule over and over and over.

You don't know any of that to be true / verified. Where did 10-20% over pay come from?

Also least desirable? Based on what?

Do you live under a rock? The mountain of evidence grows nearly every day lately. Sure it’s not all information that NASA has verified, but there’s plenty of signs that WT is STILL in all sorts.

The Panthers face an uphill battle trying to retain all their star juniors, **which would be aided by the potential release of fan favourite Josh Mansour** before the season. The problem for Penrith is that Mansour is also managed by Ayoub, who is expected to push any savings the club gains from Mansour's likely release towards Crichton's new deal. Penrith want to use some of that money to keep the likes of Jarome Luai and Isaah Yeo at the club beyond the end of next season.

Mansour and Leniu in demand
Speaking of Mansour, the Wests Tigers remain the favourites to secure his services, however the club will not take him on until the end of 2023

They spell it out for the tigers...getting Mansour helps the Panthers keep Chricton. Let's offer S. Chricton a 3 year deal instead of Mansour

Yep offer Stephen good cash, we really don’t need Mansour.

Crichton is going to be a world class full back by the looks of it.
He will command huge dollars in the next year or so.We need to be all over that.

Also keeping Blore is an absolute must.
No doubt if McIntyre got a decent pay Blore will get some big offers rolling in.

We should be all over their young prop Spencer Leniu. He has sone spark about him.

Letting McIntyre go is a great decision. Anyone who watched him play for the Magpies in 2019 knows that he is a park footballer. Why would the club waste a spot on dead wood like him? If the club signed a substandard player like him from another club the whingers on here here would [This word has been automatically removed] and moan about poor management.

Am I reading this right, we are really worried about losing a 16yr old and a fringe first grader?

That is a little disparaging of Camroux and McIntyre. There are quite a few supporters who take an interest in the progression of our juniors and young players. Camroux is one of our own very good juniors. McIntyre was one of the few shining lights in comparison to much more highly paid players in our squad such as Leilua, J, Mbye, Packer and Reynolds.

I’d say that’s optimistic - each to their own.

Never seen cameroux so to me he’s just a 16 yr old with that dreaded potential tag.

Mcintrye is a bench player at best for a few years, not use throwing money etc at him. He’s certainly not on a pedestal. Not like his debut year was like Rudolph’s.

I believe the Club struggle to find a replacement for McIntyre. That is what I will be concerned about.

Seyfarth..?

McIntyre is way better than Seyfarth, way better. I can’t believe they couldn’t see the potential in McIntyre and have just let him go! They will probably let Aloiai walk as well. We can’t afford to lose good forwards like this, our pack is weak enough as it is! There had better be something positive coming our way soon.

Don't think they let him go willingly they were gazumped. The Titans deal must have appealed to McIntyre or wouldn't have signed knowing he had the deal with WTs ready to go. Managers wheeling and dealing clubs against each other- it's become a dirty game.

Apparently all we offered was a1 year extension -Titans offered 2 years and I assume on more money than we offered.

I would be chasing spencer Leniu from Penrith too. Looks a quality young prop. They won’t be able to keep all their young guns... instead we go for the 30 year old! At least we got Blore and Laurie (apparently)
