No thanks to Lodge. I don't care how well he is going. I'd rather us sign Hitler, Mao and Stalin first.

Mao and Hitler for sure but Stalin's small stature wouldn't work in the forwards. He'd be more of an elusive outside back.

Stalin would be good for morale. He was quite the practical joker from what I've read and heard.

would definitely be good for a laugh between atrocities.

Listen to the second or third episode of the behind the bastards podcast. The guy was a despot but he would have been a laugh riot if you weren't a political enemy or part of the transitioning agrarian heart of Russia.

Apparently he used to laugh hysterically at his own personality cult. He found it hilarious how people would idolise him in such a way.

He used to shove tomatoes in the pockets of his politburo confidants and get them blind in 6 hour benders and shove them against hard surfaces to make the tomatoes burst in their pockets and ruin their pants. He also had a penchant for throwing orange peels at people. I laughed pretty much from start to finish of that podcast.

I’m going to give that a listen. Sounds right up my alley.

Can they kick goals

Stalin kicked at 78% in the Soviet Super League.

He kicked at 100%. Anybody who denies this is in a prison camp in Siberia.

Only for a very short while, then Beria would invite them to a brief conversation

7 NRL clubs are chasing Bronco second row forward Brendan Piakura ex Keebra Park and Aust Schoolboys. We're not one of them according to the article, He's a good player but our recruitment has been very good at the junior level.

I'd prefer Reecd Walsh but the article suggests Roosters, Melbourne and the Bulldogs are in with the best chance.

I'd go for Riki instead

Saab ,i agree with OZ,fast but nothing out of the box.It was when we were panicking about no signings and lack of speed that we showed interest.Fans more relaxed now .

Watching the super league gf.....can we swap mybe or reynolds for bevan french? He looks to have matured and improved his ball playing....would still have plenty to offer. Would have to be a 1

Feel like Manly and Bulldogs and alot of clubs are making good signings and we are starting to be left behind further. Not sure what or why the plan is.

Tamou, Roberts, Joe, and potentially Siro. How are we being left behind exactly?

Not to mention Daine Laurie for 22.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles has added real backline speed for next season after securing two of the best young wingers in the NRL.

The Sea Eagles have signed Christian Tuipulotu on a four-year deal and have followed it up with the signature of Jason Saab for three years. Both players become part of Manly’s top 30 squad for the 2021 season.

After securing a release from the final year of his contract with the Sydney Roosters, Tuipulotu commenced pre-season training with the Sea Eagles this week.

Sad that Manly sign the two best young wingers on the market yet we're struggling to find quality candidates. Both of these wingers are better than our current wing prospects.

I have a feeling BB Kepaoa is going to be a gem although he reminds me of a faster version of Craig Innes. I also believe we should not be blocking the pathways for Rizk and I also believe Scolari will be in the mix.

Am I the only one who isn't impressed by Saab and not overly fussed we missed him?

I your not I too am yet to see his worth.

From what I saw he doesn't hit the line hard on kick returns, seems very lightweight in the size stakes and shows no real enthusiasm.
The only positive I see is that he would be a great target for kicks....

A feeble version of Tupou

Yes it’s been solid so far.

Think we need C Smith to make a call and the pieces start to move for 2022 as well. Would be good to get an early start with packer and Josh’s money and see where it goes

We’ve made solid signings but nothing ground breaking. Not unhappy, not amazed either. Same as last year. Hope the boys who come over can make an impact for us

While I tend to agree....I also think our squad has improved on last year in a decent way...

I think we may be slightly ahead but there is a lot of risk in the gains and losses.

Roberts potentially is exactly what we need but I have no confidence that he is going to perform throughout the season. Defensively he is also terrible. He is low cost so it's a great signing but when it comes to performing next season we can't be relying on this guy.

Tamou is a good signing. DL may be a good signing but you need to give him time and see if he is up to it plus it's for next year.

JO for Aloiai to me is a backwards step.

I suppose if Tamou and JO make up for losing Aloiai and the Huth it's break even with the potential for Roberts to add a lot to the team. I can't call that getting ahead.

One thing is though we've lost McQueen and we have one more year with Reynolds and Packer on the books. Losing those guys is big for us. We can use Mbye as well. Maybe he does a decent job at fullback. He can go the following year and if we keep managing the contracts that we offer to players so that we are getting the right players I can see improvement coming over the next couple of seasons.

Assuming Aloiai and Garner go and we get Joe O & Siro
We have lost 5 back rowers in McIntyre, McQueen, Taylor, Lawrence & Garner
New back rowers are one of our development kids and maybe Siro
We’ve also overall lost 11 players, 9 forwards and 2 backs
Currently replaced by 4 backs and 5 forwards
2 development, Jimmy & Momo
2 development, Tamou, Joe O & Siro
Guess the last two need to be back rowers to keep some sort of squad balance

We can get players if other clubs aren't going for them its true. Like James Roberts. May he regain his speed and attitude and be the story we need. I'll be rooting for him
