Dogs were actually competitive for large chunks of games last year but couldn’t score points, I’d say they are filling needs with NRL proven players or ones that look like they have upside (Burton/Hetherington). Honestly I think they’ll push for top 4 maybe miss due to a lack of a hooker.

Do you honestly think the dogs will push for top 4 in 2021?!

No chance. They won't make the 8. They may get close to the 8 in 2021 when JAC and Burton join the team.

Cotric and Allen are upgrades and Flanagan will give them direction. Their pack is NRL standard. I have them 4th-9th. If they miss it’ll be due to Marshall-King at hooker.

The best club of the last decade, moved Flanagan on, so why do you think he will shine in a bottom 2 team?

Allen was moved on, why was that?

There forwards got to an inch of the spoon only because the Bronc’s were the worst ever.

I think they will struggle. Then watch the club implode at board level blaming everyone for the debacle. Barrett will be lucky to last 2 seasons if this happens.

JAC is the only one I wanted here. The rest are ok or un proven.

Seems that they're spending their entire xap in the first year and the digs will have these guys locked in for 3 years.

If they dont do well they might struggle again..

They look to be going all out for this year,and it can take a while to build combinations with so many changes .It's the future they have to worry about,Dezi and others stuffed their roster before with back ended contracts etc.It appears Barrets been given an open chequebook,where most clubs now have specialised recruitment staff.

They have zero quality juniors . The fact they’re not stockpiling like us and even the Titans , is crazy talk . They just spent a lot of money on backs , and their forwards.. don’t go forward . Allan would have been behind AD at Souths as well , if the LM thing didn’t happen. Also , isn’t JAC playing fullback for them ? In 22?

And placing a lot of Faith in Barrett and after his stint at Manly it is going to be interesting if the Faith has been misguided or not

How you have the dogs as high as 4th is beyond me. Cotric is an uograde but hel be out of position. Allen isnt any better than what they have. Is this the same Flanagan that couldnt give direction last year? They have massive holes everywhere. Burton sounds the goods but thats next year. If they make it 10-12th they are overachieving.

Doggies won’t make the 8 this year. They lack a hooker and a good halves partner for Flanagan. They still need better back rowers too. Flanagan and Allan are solid pickups but not game breakers, Cotric is a good player but not good enough to drag them from 3 wins in a season to finals.

2022 is shaping nicely for them and they’ll compete a bit more this year but their roster still isn’t good enough

He wasn’t in the riffs top 3 number 6 in thier club prior to this year . They were going to give him the wade graham treatment .
From what I understood , they had Luiai , May, Laurie all above him in the depth charts . Now all of a sudden he’s the dogs messiah . I don’t see it . I wish him well . But I definitely don’t see it for 600k.

I don’t think they were as far off as you think. Lost a fair few games by a try or two. Just couldn’t score points.

Really ? Thier pack is below NRL standard dude. Jack Hetherington might be good . He’s played off the bench so far his whole career even last year at the warriors . Napa is past it. So is Jackson . Elliot is ok I guess . RMF is not good . And Luke Thompson screams bust to me . After that , it’s plodder central . That’s average at best for the first 30 mins , what happens when those guys go off the field ?

That is incorrect, Burton had Luai ahead of him only. The Panthers consider him to be a much bigger loss than Laurie.

You've nailed it. They will miss out because of their hooker.

Look at manly for example, they were basically the same team in 2019 and 2020. Tommy T missed plenty of games during both seasons.

2019 they made the finals, 2020 they didn't. The main reason for this, in my opinion, was their hooker. Fainu was definitely missed and will continue to be as long as he is suspended.
