Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So much has changed in just a few months. Looking at the players off contract for 2022, and i can't see many that would improve our squad. Players like Jake Friend would have got our keen interest, as well as many others, but we have such a strong forward pack now ,i don't see a vacancy. Our backs have some doubts about them, time will tell, and we have some quality in CC. Who do the forum members think is worth chasing that will be off contract ?

Angus Crighton, Connor Watson, Tohu Harris, Curtis Sironen, Billy Magoulias, Ofahiki Ogden, Jordan Riki, Tesi Niu.

Magoulias and Sironen would be the only ones I could see leaving their current club.

For me I'd love to see Siro back, no to Magoulis.

Would love Chrichton but as you say unlikely to leave chooks.

Mikaele is a young forward who has been thrown to the wolves. Most if not all young props begin their careers off the bench and play a small amount of minutes. Due to our poor pack in recent years Mikaele has been the main man the Tigers have looked at to make metres. No senior forwards leading the way at all in recent years. He will be a completely different player with big senior forwards around him

Well he better, because he's going to be quickly overtaken otherwise.

All our middle forwards are going to be under pressure. Stef, Mikaele, Tuki Simpkins and Musgrove can all have an impact. Twal, Joe O and Tamou are good but more workers.

I'd play Tuki Simpkins off the bench and at lock. I reckon he looks heaps better than Twal at lock. I suppose you play both of them for the moment.

Someone is missing out. I reckon Mikaele deserves a bench spot based on his trial form.

Tuki has an X factor about him.

Don’t know what it is but you can just tell this guy knows how to throw his weight around - and I love it!

Looks like a good defender, but he got smashed twice and driven back and he had a decent run-up. Looks like he needs to another season to develop. Let's be honest...he's 19. He'll benefit greatly by being eased in slowly.

What about backline players available . Gagai is getting on,and on big dollars, and i see more value in Kei . IDEAS ?

Agreed. He's played well in the trials but week in week out NRL is very demanding, we need to be careful not to rush him. With a year or so developing his body and putting on some size on he's going to make a fantastic lock.

rtigan and Maguire’s recruitment and plan for our future needs to be applauded over and over again, unbelievable stuff lads

Total Agreement, Yet the challenge is to maintain momentum and get the next level of player to our club.

I watched Ogden a couple times last year and he is destructive, but I think we have enough props for now. Sironen would be good to have back and Harris could be the most underrated player in the league, but I'm pretty sure he is close to re-signing with the Warriors.

Younger Siro is locked away

Older Siro, His best years are behind him. Im over recruiting this type of player based on the pain.

ZDC offers heaps more than tyrone imo...

Wouldnt mind seeing kelma upgraded

we only need Dockar-Clay if Walters moves on a year early and we can't sort out a release for Hastings. he has to be the last resort, unfortunately hasn't shown anything in the trials.

After watching pretty closely on Sunday I’m convinced we should spend big on the right side second rower and the left winger. Finucane and Sivo would propel us into premiership calculations.

Wouldn't think there is any way Finucane would leave the Storm and a BIG no to Sivo (the Cat) from me.

That’s one huge cat, lots of whiskers ?

I’m watching the NRL 360 opener and the grubs think Tigers will be bottom 4 this year.

Ben Ikin bagged us out completely and says crap like “they don’t know who’s playing in what position, the 6 and 7 is undecided”

Jesus.. he doesn’t know crap.

And then agreed by Ennis too.
They sure fire up controversy - still, there's always one way to beat these clowns: just WIN.

TBH, don't know much about Finucane, but would love to have Sivo here.

But I don't think the club is that interested in paying overs for anyone?

Ikin is a dead set nuff cut from the same cloth as Soward. Bang average as a footballer and even less than average as an analyst of the game. Ennis marginally better at both.

What's new.. Always rubbishing us, surprised wasn't Slothfield.
TIGERS prove the knuckleheads wrong so we can stick it up them come September.

Finucane is a lock (middle) player - unless you’re buying Sivo as a second rower you’re on drugs!!
