DWZ as a winger on a subsidised or low end deal is a good play. He is a solid winger and won’t improve us much to be honest. Don’t hate it don’t really like it. Squad signing I suppose.

He's not coming to make up the numbers.
He'd be a starter.

And not quite the player we need.

He is a starting caliber winger for certain. He’s dismissed a lot as he’s not a fullback but as a winger can finish and bring the ball back. He’s better than Kepoa, Jet or any other winger we have outside of Nofa. It’s a question of contract. Isaako, Gagai would be better options. Depends on cost.

Gagai, DWZ, Isaako...

We have $$
Let's aim higher.

We need a winger right now, there's not many options.

We’re not making finals this year anyway. Would rather blood Fitzgibbon than take DWZ.

EDIT: I’d actually rather just keep JTJ on the wing.

Having not a winger on the wing will continue to hurt us as it has the entire season which has been the cause of a lot of complains

At this stage of his career JTJ is more a winger than a centre Its a shame that AJ suffered his injury his place in the centres this year could have answered a lot of questions for next year

Let's see Roberts actually tested before judging him. Dragons barely kicked at him for some reason, Penrith will go after him

I agree but we’ve seen DWZ tested and the results weren’t pleasing.

There's got to be better out there

For sure, and DWZ is on big money.

They need to sign someone and soon. We have 1 winger in our top 30 right now and most of the best wingers have been signed up. Don't see us signing a quality winger unfortunately they'll need to try find a young talent somewhere

Side note if dogs pay half then DWZ is around $350k which isn't bad really

$349,999.99 too much, happy to round up though.

DWZ is a crap fullback, good winger. We could shift Roberts to centre, drop Talau and put DWZ on the wing and that makes us a stronger team overall I think.

DWZ is totally crap, the Dogs came in over the top of us and gave him huge money, so why should we take a second rate player off their hands and help them out.
They paid the big bucks for him so suck it up Dogs (Dogs by name and nature).

Story in the paper today we signed Brett Kimmorley for pathways and development, also to help with the halves, and signed Matt Betsey (head of cricket academy) to help him out.
Will help us out a lot I think, they also referenced former Campbelltown juniors, so maybe looking to do more out that way

Do you have a copy of this article mate ?

A NOD TO TIGERS’ FUTURE

Phil Rothfield
May 29, 2021 - 6:00PM
News Corp Australia Sports Newsroom

The Wests Tigers are on the verge of signing former champion halfback Brett ‘Noddy’ Kimmorley to head up their pathways and junior development.

They hope it will ensure the next Campbelltown juniors of the calibre of James Tedesco, Jarryd Hayne and Israel Folau are captured and kept in their system.

The former NSW Blues and Kangaroos playmaker already has a tremendous knowledge of the game’s best young players through his coaching of emerging Blues for the NSWRL.

“We’ve refocused our strategy over the last couple of years,” Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said. “That means investing in pathways with the acquisition of someone like Noddy.

“He’s got a great reputation in the game and he’ll be outstanding.

“Imagine him working with young halves when we set up our academy.

“To have him talking to kids and their parents will be invaluable.”

The Wests Tigers have also signed one of Australian cricket’s top development strategists to work alongside Kimmorley.

Matt Betsey headed up cricket’s top coaching academy and has overseen the growth and progress of many youngsters now playing Sheffield Shield and Test cricket.

“These appointments are as much about retention as development,” Pascoe said. “We’re going along well. Our reserve grade side is sitting second, our 21’s are running first, our sponsorship and memberships are at record levels.

“Financially our balance sheet was minus $7 million — now it’s positive. This is why we can now go and invest in people like Noddy and Matt in such crucial roles.”

Friday night’s win over St George Illawarra has kept alive the Tigers’ hopes of playing finals football for the first time in 10 years.

Must of been hard for Buzz to write this article.... Just shows the leaps we have taken over the last 2 years..
We have a great junior system in place and a new COE on its way... I can see how the club is looking at building from the ground up and putting in the right people to identify the top juniors in our ranks and keeping them.. Our lower grades are all going very well and its exciting times ahead and thats why we need to keep with Madge and Hartigan..

Good buy.
Talented but surrounded by rubbish at the Bulldogs who have dragged him down to their level.
People on here are so quick to write players off.

He’s crap ..
So we remain a dumping ground while the Dogs sign Addo-Carr
Makes sense ?

Hey was Dallin Watene-Zelezniak the good one when at the Pamfers..or was that Malakai..?

Dallin now is still miles better than what Malakai was. Dallin is athletic and strong but he's a bit of a dope. Back a few years ago at the Panthers Dallin was really good. He's gotten progressively worse since then.

Even on a subsidized deal wazspazniak is too expensive for a depth signing.

Hartigan has done well so far but this one seems iffy. He's an error machine who could become a very pricey reserve grader. Risk/reward is too great IMO...

Playing in that Dogs team the last few seasons would be enough to make anyone's abilities regress.

I don't mind DWZ if it's cheap. I am worried that it helps the dogs out of salary cap pressure. I certainly wouldn't take DWZ if it enables the dogs to get Hynes or Smith

Yeah that's my point. He'd be coming here to start which is my concern.

There's gotta be a better option somewhere out there. DWZ's best footy is behind him...
