I remain positive Hartigan and Sheens can work it to attract some really good young players and maybe a capable vet to improve the roster.

Just plain childish, rude and ignorant to not mention the coach, fgs do you not think players and their managers won’t know.
You lost the battle, get over it.

One is GM of Football, the other Coaching Director and both senior to Maguire.

Deal with it.

I don't think anyone other than you @pawsandclaws1 needs to deal with it.

We all get it that you must be shattered that you could be so glaringly and obviously wrong through your prolonged and rubbish posts on here about the demise of Maguire.

But, to try to convince us all about some WT organisational structure that you have invented to ease your embarrassment is, in equal parts, funny and sad.

Paws is right though.

So, you're a "paws" apologist and fanboy. No surprise that you would think he is "right". He, and you, got it horribly wrong on the sacking of Maguire, so good luck with trying to convince us otherwise.

We are all Wests Tigers supporters.
It's time to unite behind coach Sheens and assistant to the coach Maguire.
We are one, but we are many.

The problem is this - players aren't coming to the club to play under Hartigan - they're coming to play under Madge. And rightly or wrongly, he's about appealing as a holiday on Venus.

Sick of the Hartigan talk. From what I've seen he is just another part of the problem.

His position is just complicating the process

It sounds like Sheens has taken Hartigans job now anyway. Maybe he is moving to a talent identification job which seems like a more suitable job for him

Well officially it's his role to lead those negotiations and identify player talent. In reality though, the players are going to be having a good think about who will be coaching them and Madge's reputation now precedes him unfortunately.

Thats the problem.

Players are not stupid.

Hartigan signs them Madge coaches them. Just an unnecessary chain of command.

I can't see how it helps us get any player worth his salt across the line. They'll go to another club who doesn't have that kind of confusion.

I honestly think that’s a myth. If players are looking for an opportunity or we pay them enough they will come here. It’s more a West’s Tigers reputation than a Madge one IMO

Do people on here really still use pages with 20 posts per page and have to load each page rather than just scroll down the page through unread posts till you get to the bottom? It works so much easier for me, but each to their own...

Now any chance we can get back to talking about signings?

Doesn’t work for me. When I don’t sign it for a week or so I have to scroll for ever to get to current jibber. Can’t see an easy way to skip when in that mode

Be nice if we could open up the whole thread without pages where it just continues to scroll down.

That's exactly what I do, and to me it makes it easiest to navigate.

For those that log in weekly and want to skip forward you just click on the post number and jump to the latest post in a second.

The problem is this - players aren't coming to the club to play under Hartigan - they're coming to play under Madge. And rightly or wrongly, he's about appealing as a holiday on Venus.

The question I have is then why have Hartigan recruiting players at all. Either they want to play under Maguire or they just want a pay cheque.

Sick of the Hartigan talk. From what I've seen he is just another part of the problem.

His position is just complicating the process

Well officially it's his role to lead those negotiations and identify player talent. In reality though, the players are going to be having a good think about who will be coaching them and Madge's reputation now precedes him unfortunately.

I honestly think that’s a myth. If players are looking for an opportunity or we pay them enough they will come here. It’s more a West’s Tigers reputation than a Madge one IMO

It is a club problem. We just didn’t magically begin to struggle attracting players because Madge became coach. He might not help, but sacking him wasn’t going to change anything recruitment wise. The club has a stench, and it’s the people at the top who are to answer for that.

Or then again it could be just my Rheumatoid arthritis!

That's probably also true to an extent, the history and reputation does not do it any favors, but I don't think Madge has helped so far either. At least that's what I'm hearing.

I hear this talk all the time. Can you tell me the last top echelon player we attracted before Madge? All Ivan’s signings were attracted by the giant pay packet we gave them.

The last couple that come to my mind are Gareth Ellis and Lote who were back when we were recently challenging for a premiership.
